Up the elevator, Lola arrived at her employer’s and her shared office space and saw only Elizabeth there instead of her employer…
“Is Mr. Carte out?” Lola asked as she headed to her desk and sat down, her stern voice making it a bit too obvious she wasn’t fond of the woman that was there in her employer’s stead. “He’s slacking again, isn’t he?” She asked.
“Yes, he went out on some urgent business… but you could say he’s just thinking up excuses as to not be here… Typical Billy…” Elizabeth laughed a bit as she sat at her own desk and quietly began working on her current projects.
“How long do you intend to work here?” Lola asked her, this was probably the first time she’s actually shown more openly hostile behavior towards the other woman.
