Looking into his eyes, Serena doesn't hesitate to sign but little did she know that was making the biggest of her life. A smirk curled up Kade’s lips.

He was never planning to let her go even after 24 months. He would just find something new to trap her. She was his mate. His alone. His eyes burned with desires.

“Can you move a little?” Serena asked, hating the closeness between them but Kade didn't move and still sat close to her.

Seeing that he was not going to make a move anytime soon, Serena decided to shift but before she could go any further, Kade held her hand and pulled her closer, making her fall into his arms just as the door was opening revealing Valentina and Nora. Seeing her brother with a woman standing so close to him she stood there, her arms folded, Valentina was not impressed, not by Kade’s

move and especially not by this stranger in her house.

“You are home” Kade loosened his grip around Serena and moved back to his seat.

“And you have been busy. I see you brought home a friend. You shouldn't be messing around with a servant.” Valentina narrowed her gaze to Serena and she scoffed.

Serena's clothes are designers yet Valentina felt the need to insult her and that didn't go away with her. She had lived all her life being trampled not just by her father but by Alina. She didn't agree to come with Kade just to see someone else stomp all over her.

“At least I'm the servant with class and taste.

Some servants don't, no matter how many accessories are on their body” Serena threw back the shade at her making Nora laugh and Valentina glared at her shutting her up quickly.

Nora always lets her have a way not because she couldn't fight back but she felt like she owned them.

Julian took so much from Valentina and Kade and she just had to pay every day of her life to make up for his sins and she loved Valentina.

She knew there was still some part of her in there and someday it will be saved. She wanted to sacrifice all that for her.

“By the way, I’m Nora.” Drawing closer she brought out her hand and Serena shook her hand. The warm smile on her face made Serena return the gesture.

“Serena.”

“You are really pretty, Serena.”

“She's my mate and would now be my partner. Serena would be staying with us here.” Kade continued.

“For awhile–” Serena reminded him there was no way she was going to be trapped in a house with him for so long. She was going to do everything in her power to make sure she gets her hands on those files and video, and when she does, she's going to erase it permanently so Kade will never use it against her to hold her down.

“How long?” Nora asked.

“She's not going anywhere!” Kade’s deep voice echoed through the room.

“Oh that's good, that means we can go shopping sometimes. Here's my card if you ever need anything.”

Valentina watched Nora. Sometimes she doesn't just get her niceness. How can she be trying to be friends with Serena whom she just met a few moments ago.

She doesn't know how her cousin does it or how she seems not to see that humans can be monsters and behind the facade that they put up, there's more to them. She learnt the hard way.

“Do you trust her?” Valentina asked. “I thought we agreed not to bring people into our home.” she yelled at him and that made his adrenaline rush up. Valentina was his sister and she can get away with anything that she does but not shouting at him in front of Serena

“This is my house Valentina and I can bring whoever I want into my house, don't ever forget that” he turned to Nora. “Please show Serena up to my room”

“Your room? Why do I get to stay in your room? Why don't I stay in other rooms?” Serena asked.

“It's not up for debate you will do as I said, don't forget this” he pointed to the document lying on the mahogany table.

“I don't give a damn about that. I want my privacy. I agreed everything you say but I want my bedroom, mine not yours!” She shot back challenging him in front of them. Valentina and Nora glanced at each other.

Aside Valentina, no one has ever challenged Kade in this house nor said no to what he orders.

The tension was thick and not wanting to see them start arguing over where to spend the night, every day Nora cuts in.

“How about I take her to the living room or a room upstairs to settle down and later on you guys can sort out yourself” Without waiting for his response, Nora gestured for Serena to come along with her and she did. But just as she walked out, her eyes locked together with Valentina.

It was clear they were going to be enemies from now on.

“Kade is not that bad. I know that sometimes people misunderstand him but Valentina and Kade are really good people, you will get to love them once you know them better” Nora felt the need to start a conversation.

She didn't want to make things awkward between Serena and her and was really hoping that Valentina would like her pretty soon.

“Who is that woman?” Serena asked.

“That's Alpha Kade's younger brother,” she turned, walking down the hall backwardly while looking at Serena.

“And who are you?” Serena asked since Kade failed to introduce them.

“They are my cousins.” She smiled, still moving backwards. She was about to bump into a vase when Serena held her hand dragging her closer so as not to get hurt. Nora winced as she held her breaking away from her.

“I'm sorry. Are you hurt?” Serena rolled up her sleeve only to see some dark marks covered with some makeup which were already fading away.

“Who did this? Was it Kade?” Serena jumped to conclusion. In her eyes, Kade was a monster who manipulated her and had done nothing other than try to ruin her life. It was normal for her to feel this way.

“No, it's not. Look, I bumped into a door and it left a mark on my skin. I have very delicate skin. I don't even stay here often for Kade to hit me. He is nothing like that.” The words she spoke about him and what Serena had gotten to see these past few days weren't really matching.

Kade wasn't that man and there was no other side to him other than been vicious and a cheat who secured a contract through blackmail.

“Now we are here,” Nora gathered herself together and walked into the room.

Serena looked around the nicely appointed, spacious room and nodded her head approvingly. It was bigger than her old room and she loved it. It had a window so she would always sit on the window seal reading a book when she wasn't preoccupied with work and just wanted to think about her life much more when she has come up with an escape plan after she delete the files.

“Do you know where the spare keys are to Kade's study and his bedroom?”

“He’s always with his keys. Why? Are you planning something?” Nora asked like she saw right through him. She burst into laughter. “I'm just kidding. Listen, I have to go but take care, I will see you tomorrow, Serena.” She embraced Serena leaving her alone.

Meanwhile, back in the study, the conversation continued.

“I don't want her here!” Valentina folded her arms.

“That is not for you to decide. She stays and that's final!”

“Why? You haven't brought a woman home. What's so special about this one? I don't like her. I think she will bring trouble. Even if she's your mate you can just reject her.”
