Zrayne's eyes softened and he leaned sideways to help Aneyla unbuckle her seatbelt. "I'll pick you up at ten."
Aneyla smiled sweetly and got out of the car. She waved at Zrayne as she walked into the house and then shut the door behind her.
Immediately, Aneyla parted the curtain slightly and peeked from the window.
It was only after seeing that Aneyla had safely entered the house that Zrayne finally started the car and left.
Aneyla turned on the light only to see that the house was empty.
Her foster parents weren't home. Great.
Today had been great. So great! Aneyla threw her fist in the air and cheered. "Woohoo. Yeah."
Suddenly, Aneyla paused and her eyes lit up. A dreamy expression appeared on her face, and she placed her hand on her chest.
Zrayne. Zrayne Vilcot was her mate. Could there be anything more wonderful than this?
Aneyla pushed the door open and shut it with a loud bang. She plopped on the bed and rolled about while squealing joyfully.
Suddenly, she picked up her phone and dialed Dream's number. Dream picked up the call at the first ring.
Aneyla yelled, "Hey. You won't believe what I'm about to tell you!"
"What? Sexy Ray rose from the dead and kissed you?" Dream's cheerful voice sounded from the other end of the phone.
The excitement on Aneyla's face immediately morphed into horror and disgust. She shivered. "What are you talking about? I don't even know him or listen to him!"
Aneyla almost barfed at the crazy thought. "Who would be so f****d up to fantasize a scene of a dead male idol rising from the dead and kissing them? That's gross and pretty fucked."
Hearing this, the expression on Dream's face disappeared and she scratched her hair sheepishly. "I think it's me." She said quietly.
Upon hearing this, Aneyla shivered. She already knew that Dream could be weird, but she hadn't expected it to be to this extent. "Eww."
"Wait, what are you about to tell me?" Dream asked, her curiosity awakening.
The smile on Aneyla's face returned in full force and she rolled about the bed. She screamed into the pillow before yelling, "Zrayne Vilcot and I are mates and he accepted me."
"Wait! What???!!! Zrayne Vilcot?" Dream sat up with bird-nest hair. "No way! My girl is going to be the future madam of the Vilcot family! Girl, we're made for life." She screamed.
Aneyla bit her lower lip to suppress her smile, red creeping onto her face. "It turns out that he'd noticed me from the beginning and he'd been crushing on me too. It feels too good to be true."
"Uh uh, girl! No way." Dream's jaw dropped and she yelled out in disbelief, shaking her head.
A smile glowed on Aneyla's face and she gently nodded her head. "Hm hm, girl. Yes way."
Dream sighed in joy. She knew how much Aneyla had crushed on Zrayne and obsessed over him. "You both are literally fated to be..."
Suddenly, Aneyla pressed her lower lip and clenched her fist. Her voice fell to a whisper. "Do you think it's possible that he'll want us? He's literally a perfect and outstanding man that all the wolves would kill for, while I'm just plain—an average orphan omega who has to rely on her foster parents who can't wait for her to turn eighteen and leave—"
"Shush. Girl, shush." Dream frowned and shut Aneyla up unhappily. "I won't hear you speak such degrading words about yourself."
Her voice turned serious. "Aneyla, I'm going to tell you, you're perfect. You're talented. That little ass is perky and fit. Perfect fit for a man and a lesbian hand. If you weren't my friend, I'd want to tap into that ass..."
Aneyla shook her head and laughed, her bad mood turning better. "Eww, Dream. Are you consoling me or confessing your wild fantasy to me?"
Dream laughed and shrugged. "Maybe." She became serious again. "All I'm saying is you're perfect. He's everything you've been crushing on for years. If he tells you he feels the same thing, then go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain..."
Aneyla looked into the distance and sighed, wrapping her arms around her knees.
Aneyla knew Dream was right. It was just that cases of rejection were more popular than ever, and that made her more afraid. "What if he breaks my heart?" Her voice trembled.
"What if he loves you?" Dream gently retorted.
Aneyla bit her lower lip and hesitated. "What if he's just playing me for his own amusement?"
Dream's expression turned cold and she chastised, "Then he's so dumb, because he'll never get a perfect woman with a perfect ass like you."
Aneyla's sad expression broke and she feigned a barf. "Eww. Do you have a thing with my ass tonight? Speak up already." Aneyla growled, which sounded too cute for a threat.
Dream burst into laughter.
Aneyla sighed, feeling the intense fear in her heart residing. She muttered, "Thank you, Dream. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
Aneyla lowered the phone from her ear and tapped the social media app open.
Immediately, she realized that Zrayne had followed her social media handle. She didn't expect that Zrayne would even pay enough attention to know her barely existing social media handle!
Zrayne seemed serious, and the thought brought a smile to Aneyla's face.
Aneyla's hand grabbed her pillow and she rested properly on it. She opened Zrayne's social page and began to scroll through the pictures on his page.
He was so perfect. So otherworldly. And he was hers!

"Oh finally. He finally had an opportunity." Vanyl's sarcastic voice rang out immediately as Zrayne pushed the door into the monotone bedroom.
A cold expression donned Zrayne's face and he calmly took off his shirt, the smile on his face disappearing without a trace. His jaw clenched. "I don't have time for this."
Vanyl sneered sarcastically. "The moon goddess finally gave you an opportunity. Not so dumb to fail..."
Zrayne's eyes turned sharp. "f**k off, Vanyl."
Vanyl chuckled and his dark voice tinged with glee. "Can't. I like messing with your head."
Zrayne's jaw clenched. "You should disappear, Vanyl."
Vanyl nonchalantly declared, "Can't. I said I enjoy making you miserable."
Zrayne's lips pressed in a line. Yet he continued to take off his clothes and decided to act as if Vanyl didn't exist.
Yet Vanyl wasn't interested in putting a stop to it. He wickedly continued to poke. "Does your heart flutter when you look at her? That nerdy pathetic smile on her face. Such a weakling..."
Zrayne finally lost it and he bellowed, "f**k off, Vanyl!"
Vanyl chuckled, completely unfazed. "You know you've been acting like a real p***y since you saw that weakling. Look around, all those models are killing for us. Throwing themselves at us. I still don't understand why you'd settle for less..."
Zrayne's eyes narrowed and his brows contorted. "She's not less, you piece of s**t! Listen carefully, she's my mate. You'll give her the accorded respect..."
"Mate?" Vanyl scoffed. "Who falls for the thing called a mate anymore? The real ones know no one falls for that s**t called a mate bond. Not to mention when that mate is..."
Done with this s**t! Zrayne scowled and strode toward the drawer.
For the first time in months, he picked up a pill vial, opened it, and took the contents.
Immediately, he threw the vial back into where he'd taken it from and set down the bottle of water.
Zrayne's tightened expression relaxed and a whole sense of calmness began to exude from him. He wrapped a towel around his waist and strode into the bathroom.
A few minutes later, Zrayne strode out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, water dripping down his hair.
Zrayne strode to the bed and picked up his phone.
He opened his social media and chuckled when he saw that she was online. He scrolled through her social media page.
Aneyla didn't have any images of herself on her social media. All she had were images of random dogs she'd taken or cats.
She was really an interesting one. His mate. "Goodnight, mate." Zrayne typed.
