*Charlie*
As I step into the cool, air-conditioned confines of the hotel room, a wave of warmth and excitement washes over me. The door clicks shut behind me, sealing off the night’s tender moments with Malik, and I can hardly suppress the grin that’s plastered on my face. My friends are sprawled across the plush couches, their laughter ringing out like music.
“Charlie!” Tessa is the first to spot me. She jumps up, her round cheeks glowing with excitement. “You’re back. Tell us everything about the date.”
Arabella, looking stunning with her perfectly styled blonde hair, arches an eyebrow, a teasing smirk on her lips. “So, how was it with Malik? Did he completely sweep you off your feet?”
Nia sends me a radiant smile and leans forward, her interest piqued. “I saw him in the lobby earlier looking ready for your date… he cleans up nicely. What was he like? Come on, don’t keep us in suspense.”
I can’t help but grin wider, the memory of Malik’s kiss igniting butterflies in my stomach. “It was incredible!” I exclaim. “We walked along the beach, and he told me about his country’s history and the reason behind this unique gathering. He’s passionate about his culture and the changes they’re trying to make.”
Tessa claps her hands together, her excitement contagious. “Did you kiss him? Please tell me you kissed him!”
I nod, my cheeks warming. “Yes! It was magical. We stood at the entrance of the resort, and he asked me if he could kiss me goodnight. It felt like something out of a movie.”
“OMG, Charlie! That’s amazing,” Tessa squeals, bouncing on her heels. “You’ve got to see him again. He could be the one.”
Arabella rolls her eyes but can’t suppress a smile. “I know he’s charming and kinda handsome, but remember, darling, he’s just a servant at the resort. You need to keep your options open.”
“Yeah, but what if I don’t care about titles and money?” I reply, defiance rising in my chest. “What if I want to explore what’s happening with Malik?”
Nia smiles knowingly, her gaze softening. “You should! If you feel that connection, go for it. Just be careful. It’s a unique situation, and you don’t want to get hurt.”
“Speaking of unique situations,” Arabella interjects, flipping through her phone with a smug expression. “Guess who was at the party tonight? Prince Zahir, He was absolutely divine… tall, dark, and handsome, just like a fairy tale.”
So the younger prince has arrived, I am not surprised about Arabella getting close to the prince. “Really? What was he like?”
Arabella leans forward, reveling in the attention. “He was charming, of course. I mean, he had all the women wrapped around his finger. And guess what, this super hot guy invited Nia to a private dinner tomorrow night. Can you believe it? This is exactly what we came here for!”
Tessa’s eyes widen. “Oh, wow! That’s incredible. You have to tell us everything after your dinner!”
“Of course, but right now, I want to focus on you, Charlie,” Nia encourages, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. “What’s next with Malik? Are you going to see him again?”
I take a deep breath, smiling as I think about Malik. “I hope so. There’s something special about him, and I’d like to explore it more.”
“Then go for it,” Tessa says, a grin spreading across her face. “You’ve got to follow your heart.”
The room fills with laughter and chatter as my friends debate the merits of pursuing the prince versus indulging in a relationship with Malik. I can feel a spark of determination light up within me. Yes, this is a whirlwind romance, complicated by the societal expectations that surround us, but I want to see where this connection with Malik leads. Also lets be honest, it is not like a prince would ever give me a second glance.
As I settle into the conversation, my mind drifts back to Malik’s deep, soulful eyes and the way his lips felt against mine. Whatever happens next, I know I’m ready to embrace it… no matter who it leads me to.
