"I just came to confirm because I don't want surprises".
"Come on mum, I'm not s 16 year old". He rolled his eyes.
"Obvious, but you act like one." He widen his eyes in shock.
"Yes, I just said that. Hurry up and come downstairs for dinner, your visitor are here already".
"What.. my.." he hadn't completed his sentence when his mum shut the door, leaving him hanging.
"Geez". He brushed his fingers through his hair. "That woman won't be the end of me, I wonder what she and dad are up to".
For a few minutes, Julian stared at the door in a rather annoying way, trying to process what was happening. He had a feeling that his parents were hiding something from him, and he was determined to find out what it was.
Julian took a deep breath, straightened his shirt, and headed downstairs. As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he could hear the sound of laughter and chatter coming from the living room. He raised an eyebrow, wondering who the visitors were and what this dinner was really about.
As Julian entered the living room, he was immediately struck by the sight of his parents' guests.
He greeted Mr and Mrs Charles, then turn.....
"Angry bird?" He said, with a frown as he set eyes on Beverly. She widen her eyes and then frown.
"Proudly?"
"Do you both know each other?" Julian's mum asked.
"Something close but trust me mum you don't wanna know".
"Like anyone is interested". She scoffed.
"But we are". Mr. Charles said and his shrugged.
"Let's just go to thetime, I mean if there's a problem the Julian is definitely the one at fault". Mr. Hamilton said chuckling and walking his guest to the dinning table.
"Common dad, I'm not that bad, mum knows that".
"No I don't". His mom replied and for some minutes he was lost.
"You're alone in this". Beverly said to his face as she joined the two families at the table. Everything was set and looked yummy. She smiled as she took her sit beside her mother.
Julian took the sit opposite her, not hiding his glare. For minutes he didn't checked her out, she didn't look bad but he wouldn't admit she was beautiful as well. The character she had exhibited was rather too hash for a beautiful Ladies anyway.
"This looks yummy". Mrs. Charles said with a smile on her face. The could tell she was really impressed.
"Sure it is. That's why we should eat now before it gets cold". Mrs. Hamilton said return the smile. They all nodded and grabbed their cutleries.
"Julian how was work today". Mr Charles asked lifting his head and staring at Julian with a welcoming expression.
"Work? I mean you should asked what Time he went to work instead". His dad replied instead.
"But dad I said these before, I had errands to run on my own". Julian was a bit pissed that his dad was rubbing his dark side Infront of visitors especially his enemy who would probably use it to taunt him later.
"Errands you say". His mom rolled her eyes. "Beverly dear how was work at the department?"
"It went well ma, by his grace". She smiled acknowledging God.
Why was her smile so charming. Geez that really annoyed Julian as he glared at her forgetting the fact that he had a forked pressed on his plate.
"Drop the ugly behavior julian". His mum whispered into his eares.
As If she was aware of his glared, Beverly looked at him with a sweet smile. Knowing how much that would piss him. But she cared less. What business did she have with him anyways. She rolled her eyes and continue eating.
"So for the merger, how is the process going"? Mr, Charles asked Mr. Hamilton, his friend.
"How that". Mr. Hamilton look a sip from his wine glass, dropped it gentle on the table and wiped his mouth with a napkin. "I'm almost done with my part you know..."
"What merger dad?" Julian asked totally clueless, same with Beverly?
She knew everything going on with her dad, being his favourite, he wouldn't hide anything from her. But what is this she's hearing. She turned to look at her mum.
"Mum? What's going on?"
"Why the rush dear, I mean..."
"Horney let's tell them". Her mum interrupted her dad. Julian's mum nodded in affaimation.
At this point, everyone had dropped their cutleries.
"Well, the both of you are getting married". Mr. Charles said and resume eating immediately, just like his friend.
"The both of who?" Julian asked arching a brow.
"You and Beverly". His dad answered
"You mean I'm getting married to someone who has a huge problem saying sorry?" Beverly asked with disdain.
"Excuse you, and you think I enjoy or I'm happy with the fact that I'm getting married to an angry bird like you? Grow up". He spat.
"Watch it! " His mum snapped at him. "Are you going to be rude to your soon to be bride?"
"Not like I care about him though?" She shrugged. "And whose idea is this?"she asked facing her father.
"It wasn't an idea, it's just how we planned it when you and Julian were little". Mr Hamilton said .
"And you're just telling me?" Julian asked "Dad I thought I was an adult, which means I could make my own decisions right?"
"Common dear , you and I Know that you sulk at making decisions". He mum reply.
"Exactly, I mean look at Sofia". His father added. He glared at his dad.
"That's my problem dad and I can handle myself, I didn't say I needed help". He sank back.
"Whatever it was, dad don't you think I deserve better than this?" She pointed at him.
"It has nothing to do with that Bev, a deal is deal". Her dad said without much thought.
"What can we do that cancell this arrangement?" Julian asked looking thoughtfulness.
"Nothing my dear, the wedding is in two weeks"
"Two weeks?!" The both exclaimed at the same time.
"Is it too far?" Mr. Hamilton asked sarcastically.
"Don't go there dad, you know what I mean". Julian said.
"Well we have started preparations already. You both will be so busy together tomorrow as you'll both take your pre wedding shoots."
"Are you bringing seriously mum". He exclaimed.
"Yes, I mean it's that right?". His mom spread her hands asking Mrs Charles who nodded in affairmation.
"Have fun mum, I don't care. This isn't going to work". She stood up and left the dinning, ascending the stairs to his room.
"I'll be in the car". Beverly left them too, heading out.
"Okay, at this point, I think our children are the same because..."
"Don't stress yourself dear, they'll handle it". Mr Hamilton said as they continue eating.
“ But they seemed to not like each other,
“ Mr Hamilton observed, “ I wonder why though”

"I'm Fay, mom said I should..."
"Get the hell out of there Fay!" He snapped, interrupting her, he really didn't care to hear the other parts. He wasn't in the mood for that, he wanted to have his sleep.
"I'm sorry sir, but Mom said I should come wake you up".
"As what? a baby or a play thing"
Or is it that I cannot wake myself up?" He scoffed.
"No sir I didn't mean it that way". She tried explaining.

"Oh. okay". He heard her footsteps descending the stairs and he knew she was gone already.
