Chapter 9 The guard vs Cassius

Cassius´ POV

Well, tonight I will bring the guards' worst nightmare to life. I will break Roman out of the guard’s prison. He will be a great asset to me now that he has created so much mayhem in the world of the shifters. Nearly just as much as I did all those years ago. When I heard of the things he had done, I wished he had been my son. I am actually proud of him. His own family has disowned him, which didn´t surprise me one bite. My own did the exact same thing back then. That´s why I have created my own family of my own off-springs.

While one team is taking care of freeing Roman, I will lead an attack on the Crest Fort Pack, one of the few packs I need to search. My mole has been a great asset to me, and she will be rewarded well for her work. That´s the amazing thing about having mates. They will do anything for one another. The mole is my oldest son´s mate. And she is pregnant with him. That pup will be a mix of bear, werewolf and vampire, which is just amazing. Looking at it from a scientist's point of view. I am just not sure the world will look at it that way. I fear that they will try to kill the pup once it has grown up. That is why it is so important that we get to her before she has her pup.

My second in command comes in. He is leading the attack on the prisoner to free Roman. He lets me know that the plan is put into motion and that the men are ready. I stand up from behind my desk: “So are we all ready to go?” He nods as he moves to let me get out of the room. I leave with him close by and my third in command joins us as we walk out into the courtyard where the teams are standing by. I look at the different teams, a bounce of mean-looking shifters, some have huge scars telling the world that they are fierce warriors, others are just looking mean by appearance alone. I nod satisfied by the view. I give the order for the teams to get going. We have to execute the plans at the exact same time to create the most damage and confusion in the ranks of the shifters. Attacking the Royal Guard´s prison has never been done before but our plan has a few surprising elements in store for the poor shifters getting in our way. I have made sure to have full cooperation from the prison guards by taking their pups and mates as hostages until we get Roman out. I can´t wait to have him here at my place leading by my side. We will take down the shifters one species at a time. I let out a laugh as the teams start to move out. My second and third in command look at me with a weird expression on their faces. “I can´t wait to see the shifters' faces as we get Roman out of prison and start taking them down one by one!” I laugh at my malicious plan; they smile as they start to join their team. I wave goodbye to my daughter, who is a fairy and therefore, can´t be mean. I had to silence her because she was always talking about positive things and saw only all the good things in the world. Not ideal for a powerful mean guy like me. So, I had one of my warlocks make a poison that would make her lose her voice. She has been silent since. That´s 5 years now.

She smiles nervously at us as her brothers and I leave with our teams. The van is quiet everyone is focused on their task at hand. We know that we will lose some of our men, but it´s a small scarifies for a bigger cause. I truly hate every single shifter for being so damn perfect. Don´t bring attention to the pack or the community of shifters. Don´t do this and don´t do that. All their stupid rules or laws set by the counsel which is upheld by the Royal Guard. A bounce of self-righteous clowns. No mixing the shifters is strictly forbidden. Seriously, if a vampire is a better fit to take down a bear, then why not let the vampire fight instead of bear to bear? I never understood that. “We are getting close now!” The driver takes me out of my thoughts. I recognize this place very well. It´s the Crest Ford Packs grounds.

The vans start the journey through the forest behind the pack grounds. An old farmhouse is our command center. The teams begin to unpack the vans. All kinds of electronics are being pulled out and placed inside the house. Soon the house looks like a command center. The different teams begin to look over their part of this huge take over. We will hit them from everywhere we can: the air, the ground and the trees. Having some powerful warlocks with me helps a lot too. I look at the plan on the table. I smile while I take a sip of my coffee, I have been handed by my oldest son. He will meet his mate, my mole, later to bring her to safety. I want their pup to survive. I really don´t care about her, but for the sake of my son, I hope she will survive too. Now we are waiting.

Adrian´s POV

I wake to the lovely smell of my mate. I open my eyes and look at her. She is still sleeping. I touch her cheek and her moans in her sleep. I can´t help myself. I let my hand wander and soon I find myself bringing her closer to me. I kiss her lips and then her neck. I remove the cover and the sunlight makes her naked body shine. I remember bringing her home last night and our very first night together. I blush at the thought of her underneath me. I kiss her skin and let my mouth do the talking. I kiss her n...e, suck it so it gets really hard like another thing. I can feel my d..k getting hard as I can smell her arousal. I hear her breathing heavily and her soft moans. My hand finds its way down to her p…y. I let my fingers play with her c..t. I can hear her moan louder now. I look at her as she begins to move to get me to keep going. Her hand plays with my hair and her other hand caresses my arm that has a grip on her other breast. I can tell she is getting close now. I let a finger slip inside of her while my thump keeps playing with her c..t. Her back arches as she c..s and I can´t help myself to keep kissing her and my finger keeps moving in and out. I kiss my way down to her c..t. My tongue begins to flick over it and sending her over the top again. I suck and lick until she arches up again, breathing even more heavily. I love that I can make her body react like that.

I start licking her very wet and hot p…y hard. She moans out loud and tells me to keep going and that she wants more. She is driving me crazy. I can’t get enough of her. I keep going and this time my tongue is deep inside of her as I drive her over the edge once more. As I am done licking her juices and gently make my way up to meet her lips. As I reach them, I kiss her softly, which quickly turns into hunger for more. We kiss passionately when I feel her hand grip my hard d..k and before I catch what is going on, she has placed my d..k at her entrance and soon her legs are around my hips. OMG how I love her. She knows exactly what I love. We move slowly but soon we move faster and faster. I want her so much and I can´t breathe at the thought of her being taken away from me. I close my eyes and at that time I feel her fangs bite into my skin as we both are pushed over the edge. I close my eyes and just enjoy the feeling. My head is spinning, and I feel like I am leaving my body. Everything turns black.

I wake up after a few moments, at least that´s what I think. Sherry is sitting next to the bed on a chair. An annoying beeping sound tells me that we are not in my room anymore. I try to sit up but my brother's hand lands firmly on my chest and pushes me down onto the bed again. Sherry is very pale. “I´m sorry, I didn´t know that I could kill you when I marked you!” Tears are running down her cheeks. “But you didn´t because you are his one true mate!” Rose tries to comfort her. I look confused at Tommy who is standing next to my bed. He nods. “If she hadn´t been your true mate she would have killed you when she was biting you. That´s why it is so important to talk to the elders when you find your mate who is a different kind of shifter than yourself!” He looks at me with a stern look, but I can tell he is relieved that I am alright. Or at least I think I am. I try to sit up. Sherry quickly comes up to my side and helps me arrange the pillows so I can sit comfortably. I take her hands in mine and look her straight in her beautiful eyes. All I see is the love she has for me in her eyes. I hope she can see all the love I have for her too. I kiss her passionately. I can feel her tears as they run down her cheeks. She must have been scared out of her mind. I let go of her hands and hold her close. I can feel her cry silently in the crock of my neck. Where she has bitten me. It tickles and I start to giggle a little. It doesn´t take her long to make me laugh out loud and she looks at me while I am still laughing with a mischievous look in her eyes. Rose laughs as Tommy just shakes his head as he leaves the room.

The door opens and Sebastian walks in with Xander right behind him. “Hey you two!” They both hug Sherry, who bows her head because of her low rank in the pack. It kills me to watch this. What Sebastian does next take me by surprise. “Please don´t ever bow your head to me. You are now one of our allies and therefore, like an equal status as Adrian. Which means you are a high-ranking wolf now. And you are my friend, so don´t bow. It makes me feel really, really old!” We laugh at his last statement. Xander looks at me. “How are you feeling?” “Like I don´t know what is going on. I have this weird voice inside my head, and it keeps telling me all kinds of things. And there are so many voices coming and going that I think I am going mad!” I tell them the truth. They start to laugh. I look puzzled at them.

“Well, all the voices that come and go, are our packs mind link. You will learn how to use it with time, but for now just tune it out. The voice that keeps telling you all kinds of things is your wolf…” I look at Sherry completely confused by her last words. I have my own wolf! “Yeah, you do. I am Jake your wolf. I am happy to meet you!” The voice tells me. “Nice to meet you too Jake! I am sorry I am kinda new to all of this!” I can hear my wolf laugh a bit.

The rest of the day Sebastian, Xander and Sherry explain how the whole wolf thing works. I never knew that they have such a strong connection. I am actually happy that I have a wolf not only as a mate but as a friend. Rose comes running in really pale. “YOUR PACK IS UNDER ATTACK!!!” She yells and looks at Xander. Xander´s face turns pale and then red with anger. Sebastian quickly lets his pack know to come to the aid of the Crest Ford Pack. We all leave the hospital in a hurry. My family quickly joins us as we hurry to the pack grounds.

The sight that meets us makes my bones shiver. The pack is being attacked from above by vampires. Our coven quickly begins to take them down. The Summer Ville packs come from the southern end of the ground. They fight warlocks, rogues, and bears?! I look at Sherry as she takes down a rogue. “Is that normal?!” I ask Jake. “No but it is Cassius who is behind it!” “I hate that guy!” I state out loud. A rogue attacks me but I rip his head off. Wow, I am more powerful than ever. I look a bit surprised as Sherry looks at me, smiling proudly.

Liam´s POV

It has been an hour since Chloe went off with the Bear company. She is one of the few who works with every company in the Guard. She has made a lot of friends here and is always trying her best to help out wherever she can. I sit at my desk in our dorm when the alarm goes off. I quickly get up and runs outside to meet with the others. Commander Joe is already giving orders out. I look at him as my brothers and the others join us. “The prison is under attack and the personal is compromised. Don´t trust anyone who works there!” He nods and we are off.

When we arrived at the prison at the back of the compound, black smoke is coming out from what once was the command center in the prison. Vampires enter the towers from above. The Dragons land in the courtyard. We attack from the west as the Elves take the East side. Once inside, we can tell that there has been a lot of fighting going on in the hallways. Most of the inmates are dead or badly wounded. We find a prison guard. He is missing an arm and his right leg is laying the wrong way. He is an orc, who has been with us for as long as I can remember. “Jack, what happened?!” I ask him. He looks at me with bloodshot eyes. “Cassius happened or he is behind it! He has taken most of the guys' mates or kids as prisoners so they would do his dirty work for him. But I had a hunch that something was off, so I sent them to guard another inmate who´s quiet the handful. Then this happens, they came in from the basement and that´s why the fighting got so bad.” He looks at a hatch in the floor just a few meters from where he is laying. We divide the group. One takes the hatch and sees where it leads. One stays with Jack just in case they come back and the last one moves on.

We find more and more dead bodies, both inmates and prison guards. Then we end up close to a cell where the door is intact, but the cell is empty. “Who was sitting here?!” I ask. One of the other answers: “Roman Valentino!” I look at Hunter who is with me. We all sign. Now we know who they came for and how they got in. But how did they get out? I mean we were here within minutes of the alarm. What if the alarm was set off at the end of the attack and not at the start of the attack? I can tell by Hunter’s expression he is thinking the same. We all start to look for evidence of what took place. How can I tell my sister that Roman has been freed by Cassius? The two worst scumbags the world has ever seen and do they work together now?!
