Seeing him now, after 11 years of disappearing, a myriad of emotions flooded her entire being.
Caleb studied her expressions carefully, not even moving an inch from where he stood. When he decided to move, he took one step towards her but stopped when she took several steps backward.
She was shaking her head pleadingly as if telling him not to do something. Her eyes were wide in shock, but no words left her mouth.
Caleb eventually let out a sigh, turned towards the door, and left the room.
He heard someone gasp immediately he came out of the room.
"Alpha, what happened to the mask?" The lady looked troubled.
"She took it off." Caleb locked the door and headed in a different direction, but the lady followed him.
"How did that even happen?"
Caleb sighed. He stopped walking and turned to her. "Leave that. We have more serious problems now."
"That's right. What's going to happen now?" She asked worriedly. This was not the plan at all and this could ruin things for them.
"You should begin your part and forget about mine for now. We have barely two weeks left." Caleb's voice sounded tired.
"Alpha, you don't have much time left. Don't you think we should find a way to settle yours first?"
"There's no time. Don't worry about me. Go attend to her first. Get her something to eat, she's hungry." He handed the key to the room to her and continued to walk away, but stopped suddenly.
"And Jenny" He called.
"Yes, Alpha."
"Get her out of that damn dress and burn it. I don't ever want to lay my eyes on it again." After saying that, he walked away without waiting for her response.

Jasmine couldn't describe what she was feeling at the moment. She was happy, angry, scared, and shocked at the same time.
She had previously leaned against the wall to support herself but her leg suddenly became too weak to support her, so she slid down the wall.
Dread and panic filled her when she noticed that someone was trying to open the door. She quickly jumped on her feet, waiting to see who was coming in.
"Jenny." She called out in relief when she saw her friend, who was supposed to be her maid of honor, enter the room.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Concern and relief flooded her as she engulfed Jenny in a tight hug.
Jenny noticed that Jasmine was trembling and she sighed. This is not good. How was she supposed to explain things to her when she is in this condition?
"I'm fine, Jasmine. I'm not hurt." She assured as she tried to free herself from Jasmine's tight embrace.
Jasmine refused to let go at first but later released her.
"You are shaking Jasmine." She pointed out.
"Jenny I... I just... I just saw..." Jasmine tried to speak but she could only stutter.
Jenny sighed again as she watched her friend, who was almost on the verge of breaking down. "Calm down Jasmine."
"H-how can I stay calm jenny? I-i was supposed to get married today. And why are you so calm? Didn't you know what happened? That we've been kidnapped?"
"There is something I need to tell you." Came Jenny's response and Jasmine's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"No, Jenny. Please tell me you have nothing to do with this? I know you don't approve of my marriage to Charles but tell me you didn't go this far just to stop it?"
"Jasmine you need to hear me out first–"
Slap.
A resounding slap landed on Jenny's face, cutting her off immediately. The action surprised both Jenny and Jasmine. She had never been a violent person, but right now, her emotions were all over the place.
She quickly recovered from the shock as anger took over.
"How dare you, Jenny? How dare you betray me this way? I thought you were my friend." She felt hurt and betrayed. Never had it crossed her mind that Jenny could do something like this to her.
"I am your friend, Jasmi–"
"Shut up. My friend would never do this to me." Jasmine lamented
"Jasmi–"
"And to make it worse, you are working with a murderer?" The last part of the sentence came out a pitch higher making it sound like a question.
"He is not a murderer."
"He just killed someone right before my eyes." She was crying now. Why was Jenny defending Caleb?
"Jasmine." Jenny called out in a firmer and higher tone, forcing Jasmine to stop talking.
"You can hit me as many times as you want but listen to me first."
"Why should I listen to the person who ruined my wedding." Her face had contorted in disgust. She couldn't believe the person doing this to her, is her friend.
"Because Charles is Caleb's brother." Jenny dropped the bomb and Jasmine felt her heart stop for a moment.
She scrunched her brows and shook her head. "You are lying, Jenny. You think you can lie your way out of this?"
"I am not lying Jasmine. There are a lot of things you need to know but you have to calm down first and listen to me."
Jasmine said nothing. She stared at Jenny for a while, confused and angry. "Where is my mother?" She finally asked.
"She's fine. She's safe." Jenny assured.
Jasmine went to sit on the bed after staring at her friend again for some time. "Start talking, Jenny."
There were so many questions in her mind but she didn't know where to start. She had never been this confused in her life except for that time when Caleb murdered his family and disappeared.
Now, Jenny knows Caleb, and Charles was related to Caleb? This is too much. What exactly is going on?
"Jasmine, we've been together for eight years and you know that I don't do anything without a solid reason. When I explain things to you, you will understand why I had to do this.
But right now, you need a bath and a change of clothes first. Also, you need to eat. When you finish eating, I'll tell you everything you need to know." Jenny tried to convince her.
"I don't need a bath, or food, or wh–"
"Yes you do, Jasmine." Jenny cut her off. "I'm not running away. I'll be here with you okay?" She tried to convince her but Jasmine wasn't looking convinced at all.
"Please?" She added when she noticed that her friend was not budging.
In the end, Jasmine scanned the room as if looking for something.
"The bathroom is that way." Jenny pointed to a door. "And there are clothes in the closet you can pick anyone you like."
No word came out of Jasmine's mouth. She walked away from Jenny into the bathroom. She looked around the bathroom and noticed there was only one window. However, she couldn't celebrate because thick iron bars ran from the top to the bottom, with barely enough space between them.
By the time she came back to the bedroom, there was already food waiting for her. She was hungry but her quest for answers seem to be stronger than her hunger for food.
She ignored the food and looked instead at her friend who was offering her food.
"Eat first. You've not eaten for nine hours. I'm very sure you are hungry." Jenny pushed the food towards her.
The smell of the now open food, made her realize how hungry she was. "How am I sure it's not poisoned." She managed to say despite her desire to start stuffing the food into her mouth.
"Why would I want to poison you?" Jenny asked, astonished.
"How should I know?"
"It's not poisoned, Jasmine."
Jasmine raised her brows in question. "And I'm supposed to believe you?"
"Fine, I'll eat first." Jenny surrendered. She picked up the fork and ate from the food.
Jasmine hurriedly ate the food after Jenny is the first bite. She couldn't wait to get answers. When she finished the food, she picked up the glass of juice. She looked from the glass to Jenny.
As if knowing what was going on in her mind, Jenny stretched her hand to collect the juice. However, to her surprise, Jasmine drank the juice to the very last drop.
When Jasmine dropped the glass, she immediately lost strength. She furrowed her brows in confusion as her body swayed to the side.
"Are you okay?" Jenny asked, watching her closely.
"What is happening? I suddenly fee–"
She couldn't complete the sentence as she suddenly passed out.
Jenny lay her correctly on the bed and checked her wristwatch. Her gaze traveled to her friend before it returned to her wristwatch. After some time, she shook her head.
"This is not going as planned." She said to herself. "Mirabelle." She called and a maid who she had asked to wait outside the door, entered the room.
"Beta Jenneven." The maid answered her, slightly bowing her head.
"There is a wedding dress in the bathroom. Take it out and burn it." She ordered without looking at the maid. Her eyes were fixed on Jasmine.
The maid almost choked when she heard what jenny said. Her eyes stretched wide and she raised her head to look at Jenny.
"Burn it?"
Jenny shifted her eyes to the maid to see her shocked expression. She couldn't blame her. Anybody would have reacted that way. After all, it's a wedding dress and an expensive one at that.
But the order came from Caleb and no one in their right senses will want to cross him.
"If you do otherwise, Alpha Caleb will have your head." She warned.
"I'll burn it right away." Mirabelle lowered her head again and went to do what she was asked immediately.
Jenny watched Jasmine for another two minutes after Mirabelle left before she sighed and left the room.
