Jasmine woke up with a start in the middle of the night to find that Caleb wasn't on the bed with her. She had slept off that morning, immediately Caleb made her drink the medicine that Zane brought for her after she had showered.
She had felt confused when almost immediately she drank the tasteless liquid, her eyelids became heavy as sleep came at her with full force. It wasn't even up to two hours since she woke up, so it was strange for her to be falling asleep again.
But that wasn't the issue right now. Not even Caleb's absence disturbed her even though it had her creasing her brows for a moment. She ignored it, thinking he had stepped out to get something or speak with someone.
