Jenifer's POV
"Tell me you're an asshole without telling me you're an asshole" I said as soon as I entered our shared living room.
Everyone was there, Maddie was curled up on the sofa reading a book, Ellen was moving around trying to fix herself to go out. Hmm, Ellen and I have a score to settle but something else has taken dominance on my list of scores to settle.
Trisha was eating a cereal at this time of the day. I can genuinely swear she has an eating disorder because she's always getting skinny and eating healthily, but then proceeds to eat a big bowl of cereal and afterward spends 30 mins in the bathroom doing, god knows what.
Everyone had turned to look at me now, and then they looked at each other, and Ellen paused in her tracks to look at me for a minute.
"My name is Bill Beloony," she said, and just walked away.
"Yes!" I screamed. "Finally, I am not crazy. I mean someone else has just confirmed that he is, in fact, undeniably an asshole.
I know it's laughable that I am letting a guy get under my skin this much, but it is Bill F**king Balcony. One would think he knew better, but no, apparently not.
"More one thing," I said just before I entered my room to chance "We need to have a roommate's CTO tonight." Everyone had the shocked look on their faces except, of course, Ellen, but I just ignored them, I needed to get changed. I was running late for my shift at Rodneys.

Bill's POV
"So what dude, are you going to tell us what is up with you and Jenifer? " Damian said as we sat close to each other in the locker room, changing up to go for practice.
I looked at him with disgust as though he was high on something.
"What the f**k dude, have you taken been nosy off Rick?"
"Who is calling my name now?" Rick shouted, coming towards us.
"I mean you guys are literally always bickering at each other, and it looks kind of sus," Damian replied.
"What's sus?" Rick said as he finally made his way to us
I looked at Damian for a while and just shook my head. The last thing I needed was to give a by form of credibility to anything.
"A strong denial, they say, is an acceptance, so I'd much rather plead the fifth," I said while standing up, but Rick blocked my path.
"Dude, move, we have a game tomorrow just in case you have forgotten, and we need to practice." I did not know where that harsh tone that was totally uncalled-for came from, even Rick was shocked he had to move out of my way.
"What did you ask him that got him so riled up?" Rick asked Damian.
"Nothing, I just wanted to check something I noticed," Damian said.
"And what is that? " Rick asked.
"I'll tell you some other time," Damian said as he left Rick and started coming towards me.
"I did not mean anything, man, I know how much you hate her," Damian said, trying to smooth things between us.
"You're supposed to be my best friend and, as such, you should know what's going on in my life and not ask me ridiculous questions."
"I love that energy, can you save it for the court?"
Practice was not usual as we have a really tough game tomorrow, plus there have been rumors that agents from pro teams would be coming to watch the game.
Getting signed early on is a stroke of luck, but at least if you get into their good books they can keep their eyes on you, and you have a far better advantage of being signed by the final year.
There are three seniors on the team who are actively playing that's George, Maxwell and Rolland, so this meant extra for them. Max has been drafted, but he still needs to maintain his stance as any mistake would really be counted at this point.
The other two probably see this as their last attempt. If they miss this, life after graduation might be really difficult.
Most hockey players who fail to get drafted eventually lose out in other areas of life, as the majority of hockey players ignore their academics and just get enough grades to be allowed to play.
As for me, I still don't know if I really want to play hockey long term. It was the major sport in my high school, and I was surprisingly good at it, so my dad kept pushing for it and, God knows, all my life I have been living on my father's validation.
He will be at the game tomorrow and I really want to prove myself more to him than even the agents.
"I'm in my second year, so I have plenty of time to figure it out.
