5 W e arrived at the shore a few hours later. Michael had radioed ahead and had his men already waiting for us with an SUV. One of the guys jumped out with a medical bag. I picked Leah up and hurried over to the doors of a vehicle. Malcolm grabbed the medical bag and yanked out a syringe. “Jake I’m going to give her some morphine. I have to dig the bullets out so her healing process with take effect. She’s going to be able to feel some of this because I don’t have any way to put her under for surgery, but we cannot wait. Do you understand me?” He asked. I nodded my head in understanding. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to answer him, not right now. I was to raw and emotional.
