CHAPTER 9 - A SHAME FOR A MAN

759 Words
AARON ‘I’m going to make sure you rot in here for the rest of your life. How dare you?’ Furious. No. It didn’t even come close. I felt like my stomach was running on acid and my intestines were at a war. Just who the hell did he think he was? Despite all the villagers have been saying I never believed it. I gave him the benefit of a doubt besides no one is ever born evil. It's life that makes us. I assumed his had been cruel for him to turn out this way. Having suffered though I expected that deep down some aspects of humanity were available at least but life just played a cruel joke on me. I have never felt so stupid. She had never done anything to harm or annoy him. She just wasn’t that type of a person. Even if accidentally she did, that was too harsher of punishment and way low for any man. There are a number of ways he could have chosen to get back at her. r**e was out of the question. ‘It wasn’t me,’ he spoke again. The people I hate the most are the ones who have no courage to admit their mistakes. Then again if I was in his position, which I would never be I wouldn’t admit it either. It was too shameful – monstrous. The damage had been done though. The least he could do was admit to his crime. I admit the police had done a number on him. His face was ghastly, swollen, and ruptured above the now purple skin. His nose had a new shape entirely and his lips bloody. I wouldn’t be surprised if the police took this chance to batter him. Everyone in the village was scared of him. Given a chance most would lash out their fear by physically harming him. Besides he has been out of their reach for as long as I can remember. They saw this as a chance to have an upper hand. If it was any other situation I would have been on his side but not this one. I would never forgive him. In fact, all am dying to do right now is twist a knife in his stomach or better yet hire someone to do the same to him as he did her. It’s taking every single muscle in me to keep this calm. If I wanted to not even the police could hold me back. He bruised me in a place where I would never recover no matter how much time goes by. The most annoying part is, he keeps repeating the same sentence over and over again. Too bad I won’t believe him even if he killed himself. Aurora identified him. No woman would ever be wrong about that. ‘You expect me to believe that? Do you even hear yourself?’ I barked a little too loud for my liking but I didn’t care. If only the lights would go off right about now. The bruises he has will seem like a Child's play when they come back on. All I need is a minute. ‘It wasn’t me.’ Seriously. I detest this guy. Just one look at him made me almost puke. It was because of him that Aurora was still in the hospital. She has been there for a week now. Each day has been like a living nightmare to her. When she first came to all stay like a zombie. Not a single word or even sound. I tried comforting her but no man at the moment could come close. Not even me. For a moment I considered calling Aden but she begged me not to writing me a promise on a paper to get better soon. At that point, I was happy with her progress. At least she was moving. I just left for a minute to visit the restroom when she tried to slit her wrists. Since then she has been transferred to a secluded room and is always sedated. Seeing her like that ripped my heart apart. How could he take an advantage of an innocent? Someone who I have always been protecting. Maybe even a monster is too good of a name for him. I really hope he gets the worst punishment of all. Not a death sentence though. That would be an easy way out. He needs to suffer much more than she has. Better yet am ready to bribe some inmates to ensure his eternal torture behind bars.
