Belonging to Alpha Caspian Chapter one: Her feet splashed mud on her dress as she ran through the trees, subconsciously placing her hands on the trunks as she went, as if trying to push the trees away so she could move faster. Her hair, a dark red flew behind her in the wind, a few strands coming to land on her face, partially blocking her shaky hazel green eyes but she didn't remove them. She kept running, feeling sharp branches tug at her dress and break into it, sharp stones rubbing harshly underneath her feet but she didn't stop. She had to keep running if she wanted to escape. If she wanted to live— One more step and she fell, tripping over a raised root and grazing her knees and elbows. "Ahh!" She hissed, trying to pick herself up, she held on to her bleeding elbow and saw the blood trickling down her arm. "Oh, no—" "Rose!" Her head snapped in the direction of whichever voice called her name and her heart began to thump wildly in her chest. They had found her… Without waiting another second, she limped away, trying to jog as fast as she could, tripping, dirtying her dress and picking herself up again. "Rose, you ungrateful brat! How dare you run away from your father?" Her fear filled eyes moistened with tears as she kept going not daring to look back. She couldn't go back to her father, she would rather die than to go back and let him sell her. Her body ached but she kept going, struggling to move faster. She limped towards a big tree and hid behind it's trunk, panting and trying to calm herself down. She heard running footsteps that slowed down as the owner searched the areas. "Viktor, I don't see her anymore." She heard her father's cold and angry voice, "I know she went this way, I'm sure of it." Viktor, the younger man looked around, his brown eyes peering through the greenery, "I think she either diverted paths or she's hiding somewhere." Rose who was a couple of feet away, put a hand to her mouth, trying not a make a sound at all. "My back is killing me, I can't shift wolf right now or pursue her any further so you'll have to do it, it shouldn't be hard, that disgrace of a daughter cannot shift." Her father said nodding to Viktor who nodded back, "Find that stupid brat, sniff her out and bring her to me!" He added as he began to walk away, back towards the town. Viktor watched him for a while before he turned back towards the forest. "I know you're in here, Rose." He yelled, "there's no where to hide, you better surrender. You're lucky enough that your father wants you sold, for someone as useless as you that's the best thing you can ever get out of life." Rose bit her lips as she tried to ignore his words and not let it touch her. "Rose!" He called again before chuckling menacingly, "Fine then, if I have to drag your dead body to your father so be it." He said before adding under his breath, "we could get a good price for your organs anyway." He began to shift, a dark cloud briefly enveloping him as his limbs stretched and hair filled his body, before a growl escaped from his throat. Rose heard him sniffing as he prowled around her, edging closer to where she hid. Her heart kept beating faster, Viktor would kill her before dragging her back to her father. Viktor will show her no mercy after what happened the last time… She heard him take one deep sniff and then there was silence, she looked to her side just in time to see the growling face of a huge wolf ready to pounce on her. "No…no!" she screamed, gasping as she jumped away, just in time, crawling to her feet and running away again, this time with Viktor following behind her. She could hear his growl and his approaching steps as he pursued her. Tears slid from her eyes, getting caught by the wind as she imagined him catching her, that would be the end. As she ran, hearing his wolf get even more closer she looked up ahead to see a lake and without thinking, she ran faster and jumped inside. Viktor who did not predict this move, paused a bit before jumping in after her. Rose turned around, seeing this, she swam faster to the other side, getting up again and continue to run, this time, she didn't look back. She did not notice that the growling she heard when Viktor pursued her had stopped and without looking back, she did not notice the guards that stopped and questioned Viktor. She also did not realize that she had crossed the border and done so illegally. She was panting heavily as she continued to run, limping as she went, she looked back now and saw that no one was pursuing her but started hearing more wolves howling and growling towards her direction, in fear and fatigue, she fell and right in front of an approaching carriage, the horses neighing in fright. "Hey, are you blind??" The carriage man yelled as he struggled with the reigns. His angry eyes fell on the dirty looking girl with disheveled who sat there on the ground, looking like she lost her voice. "Can't you see where you're going, girl?" He frowned when she kept looking at him with confused eyes. She must be some kind of runaway slave, he thought, ready to go round her before the man in the carriage starts to wonder why the vehicle suddenly stopped. But it was too late, he was about to hit the reigns when a knock was heard on the outside of the carriage, signalling him to stop immediately. The man rushed from the front of the carriage to the side and waited patiently as it was opened by one of two gaurds who sat inside, both coming to stand outside, holding open the door. His large hands nervously clamped to each other as he stood there, almost shaking. Soon he watched as the curtains drew open and a cold and powerful figure walked out. "Alpha," he immediately bowed, about to explain the sudden journey interruption,"I was—" A raised hand stopped his words and he looked up to see the man in front of him staring at the same girl that had probably put him in a lot of trouble. He bowed again as he watched him walk past him towards the dirty looking girl. Rose who was already standing, stared in shock not at horses or the yelling man but at the tall and menacing looking man who slowly approached her. She took a step backwards, tripping and falling again, her gaze still on his approaching figure. She was contemplating standing up to run when she heard the growling and howling from the forest she just came from. Before she could say a word, three huge werewolves had leaped out of the greenery and were making their way slowly towards her. Rose did not waste any time or try thinking anything through, with a swift and sudden motion she was on her feet and kneeling at the feet of the man who was walking towards her. "Please…please, Sir, save me." Tears pooled down her cheeks as she looked up at him, not noticing the sudden shock in his cold and expressionless eyes. The guards behind him and the carriage man all gasped silently in shock as they watched her, clinging to him. Who was this girl? Did she have a death wish? Did she not know who she was holding? The same thoughts went through the heads of everyone, even Caspain as he kept staring down at the pleading red haired girl.
