The Last Letter – Part Three ✉️Chapter Thirteen – The Flicker of DoubtThe salty wind whipped through the cove, scattering torn pages of the diary across the sand.Anabia’s heart raced as the two men stared at her, their faces half-lit by the sweeping beam of the lighthouse. The stranger’s voice was steady."Anabia, don’t listen to him. I’ve protected you this far—"The villa man cut in sharply."Protected her? Or trapped her? You’ve been using her since day one."Anabia’s trembling hands clutched the fallen diary. She wanted to scream, to demand the truth—but her brother’s final words echoed louder than the crashing waves:"The man you trust… is the one who destroyed us."Her breath came out ragged. "One of you murdered my family’s peace. One of you lied about my father. And I swear tonight—I’ll find out which one."The stranger stepped closer, his shadow long and sharp against the rocks."Then choose, Anabia. Choose now. Before the tide buries us all."---Chapter Fourteen – Pages of FireBefore she could answer, a sudden burst of flame erupted near the cliffs—someone had set the scattered diary pages alight."No!" Anabia ran forward, stomping at the fire, but the words—the secrets—were already curling into smoke. The villa man grabbed her arm. "Leave them. What’s written isn’t half as dangerous as the man who gave it to you."The stranger’s jaw clenched. "She has a right to know. Even if the truth burns us all."The fire’s glow lit their faces, and in that flickering light, Anabia caught something—A ring on the villa man’s hand. The same crest she had seen carved inside the diary. Her blood ran cold.---Chapter Fifteen – The Masked OnesGunfire cracked from the cliffs above. The masked figures hadn’t vanished—they were circling back. Bullets sprayed into the sand as Anabia ducked behind the boat. The stranger pulled her down. "We can’t fight them all. Get in the boat!"But the villa man stayed rooted, gun raised, eyes locked not on the attackers—But on the stranger.Anabia’s chest tightened. The masked men weren’t aiming for her. They were aiming for him.One of the figures shouted over the gunfire:"Kill the traitor! The girl must live!"Her stomach dropped. The girl must live? The words twisted through her mind, colder than the sea spray on her skin.---Chapter Sixteen – The Lighthouse SecretThey barely escaped in the boat, waves battering the hull as the masked men’s shots echoed into the night.Anabia clung to the edge, her knuckles white. "Why were they sparing me? Who am I to them?"The villa man’s face was unreadable. "Because of your bloodline. The same bloodline your brother uncovered."The stranger’s voice was low, urgent. "Don’t let him poison you, Anabia. Your father isn’t who he says. And the lighthouse—" He stopped abruptly, as though he had said too much. Her eyes narrowed. "The lighthouse? What about it?"Silence. The boat drifted closer to the towering silhouette of the lighthouse. Its beam swept across the waves, bright and blinding, as if guarding some unspoken truth. And in that moment, Anabia knew—whatever awaited inside the lighthouse would reveal who had been lying all along.---✨ To be continued…

The last letter part 3 series 3
The Last Letter – Part Three ✉️ Chapter Thirteen – The Last Breath Rafi’s blood darkened the sand as the waves tried to wash it away. Anabia gripped his cold hand. "Stay with me, please… don’t leave again." But his eyes closed slowly, his last words echoing in her mind: "The man you trust… is the one who destroyed us." She looked up — both men stood silently in the glow of the lighthouse beam. One was her guide through the storm, the other had saved her life with a bullet. But which one was truly the enemy? --- Chapter Fourteen – The Burning Pages The wind caught the diary’s torn pages, scattering them like birds across the cove. Anabia lunged to catch one — words in Rafi’s handwriting stared back at her: "Trust is the sharpest knife. The one closest to you will use it." The villa man grabbed her arm. "Come on! We can’t stay here." The stranger countered sharply. "Don’t touch her. She deserves answers now." "She’ll die if we stay!" the villa man barked. "And she’ll die inside if we lie to her," the stranger retorted. The tension snapped like a whip. Both raised their weapons. --- Chapter Fifteen – The Unmasking Anabia stepped between them, voice trembling but firm. "Stop. Both of you. No more riddles. Tell me the truth — here and now." The stranger lowered his gun slightly. "Your brother… discovered that your so-called protector—" He pointed at the villa man. "—was the one who betrayed him six months ago." The villa man’s jaw clenched. "Lies. He twists everything. I found Rafi bleeding once before because of him." Anabia’s head spun. Each word was a dagger. "Then prove it! Show me something real!" Silence. Then the stranger pulled something from his coat — a worn badge. It was Rafi’s police ID card, stained with dried blood. "I found this the night he disappeared," the stranger said. "The man who left him to die… was standing beside you all this time." Her gaze shot to the villa man. His eyes, cold and resigned, finally gave her the answer. --- Chapter Sixteen – The Betrayer’s Confession The villa man dropped his gun, voice flat. "Yes. It was me. But you don’t understand — Rafi was about to expose a truth that would burn this town to the ground. I had to stop him." Tears blurred Anabia’s vision. "You… you pretended to protect me. You made me believe—" "I did protect you!" he shouted. "If Rafi’s secret came out, they would’ve killed you both. I gave him a chance to run. He was too stubborn." The stranger stepped forward, fury in his eyes. "You’re nothing but a coward who sold a family for silence." The villa man sneered. "Silence is survival." And with that, he lunged for his gun. --- Chapter Seventeen – The Final Letter The cove erupted in another gunshot. The villa man fell — this time for good. His body slumped against the rocks as the waves claimed him. Anabia stood frozen, chest heaving. The stranger lowered his weapon slowly. "It’s over." But her gaze drifted to the scattered diary pages. One, caught against the rocks, shone under the lighthouse beam. She picked it up. It was the last entry, written in Rafi’s hand: "Anabia, if you find this… don’t hate him. He was only another victim of the same secret. The truth is older, deeper. It lives not in one man… but in our bloodline." Her hands shook. She turned to the stranger. "What does this mean?" He sighed. "It means your brother died protecting not just you… but the name you carry. The real enemy isn’t dead yet. And this story—" He looked toward the lighthouse, its beam sweeping endlessly across the sea. "—has only just begun." The waves roared, swallowing the shore in their endless rhythm. Anabia clutched the final page of the diary to her chest. The night was over. But her war had only started. --- To Be Continued…
