Why in the hell was New Mexico so hot. And Shane could feel the thick New Mexico air around him. Matt’s snoring over the air conditioner and the radio started to get on his nerves. He didn’t understand why the company made him have a co-driver. Driving to the rig site wasn’t a problem. But the company swears up and down that there needs to be two people in the truck. Shane had been a roughneck for a few years traveling was just part of the job. The sun started to set on the day so Shane decided it was a good time to pull into a hotel and get him some rest for the night. After a nice long long hot shower and a 20 minute phone call to his wife Jillian. He decided to lay in bed and watch TV. But as you know it’s cable and there’s hardly anything on. When suddenly a commercial for the a chat line came on the TV. He found this undesirable need to continue to watch it. Like something was drawing him to watch it. Finally the number flashed across the screen that’s when he made the rash decision to grab the pen and the pad off the nightstand and write the number down. What in the hell was he doing, he wasn’t fly by the seed of your pants Kind of guy. But sometimes you have to live a little to get a little. He decided to call off the hotel phone not wanting anyone to have his real number. After a few minutes he had an account set up and was ready to start his free trial. Why was he so nervous he wasn’t actually going to talk to anyone he was just there to listen to see what the line had offer. He felt like over and over again he press the button to go to the next message. Why was he wasting his time listening to all of these women talk about what they wanted and how they wanted you to give it to him and other things that made his skin crawl. He hit three for the last time. And that’s when he heard it HER voice. Sweet and warm and so welcoming. He listen to her message three times before he made a decision on what to do. He decided to message her he decided to shoot his shot what really did he have to lose. It wasn’t like there was a woman at home stopping him. All he could muster up to say was hello I am Shane and give a brief description of what he looked like. Was that going to be enough for her to message back? Her message didn’t say anything about what she wanted or how she needed it or any kind of dirty tone in her voice. He hit three a few more times just wasting time until he heard that beautiful angels voice again. Finally the sound for a message came she was nervous hoping it was her. And he was right her sweet voice told him her name Eden. And where she was from and what exactly she was looking for she also described herself. He tried to build the picture of her in his mind but he knew for sure it was all wrong. It was time for him to shoot another shot he wanted to connect with her he wanted to conversation. So she pressed the connection button. After a brief message they had him wait on hold to see if she wanted to connect to. What seemed like a lifetime was finally over when the automated voice said “they liked what they heard and they are ready to connect. Say hello whenever you’re ready” A lump in his throat grew as he pushed out a groggy “hello” “ hello? Is this umm Shane?” God she said his name. Goosebumps shot up all over his body. It had been a long time since a woman had made him feel this way. And he has no idea what she looks like or what she likes or anything. “ Yes this is Shane. I am guessing that you’re Eden. Well hoping your Eden” He chuckled nervously. “Yep! How are you what brings you to the line on this fine Tuesday night? “ he found himself wondering the same thing about her. “ just doing a little traveling for work. Decided to try my luck on here to see what I could find.” He decided to play it cool to see how she would react. “ oh well that’s cool I guess.” She could tell by her answer that she was unsure of the situation now he needed to figure out a rebound and fast or she was gonna disconnect. “So tell me something about Eden that wasn’t in the description” she was quiet for a few moments and he became nervous did he overstep? Did he ask the wrong question? “ I am a teacher” she answered. “I live in Oklahoma” That sentence right there made him excited he too was from Oklahoma. “ no s**t I’m from Oklahoma” she giggled at his statement. He was starting to get excited. “I bet you are really beautiful” he said. “ well I’m not everyone’s cup of tea” she sighed. “Well I know that your voice sounds beautiful and for me right now that’s enough” he was flirting. Finally after 15 minutes of going back-and-forth with flirtations the automated voice cut in and said “one free minute remaining.” “ so I have one free minute remaining would you mind if I called you?” Nervously she agreed and gave him her phone number. “ I will call you in two minutes promise” he responded. He hung up the phone and dialed her number quickly. Then he realized that he was still on the hotel phone. She hung up quickly picked up his cell phone and type dinner number calling her again. Justin the hotel phone rang and made him jump. Can you let it ring for a minute and then picked it up. “Hello?” “Shane?” Eden questioned. “ sorry without thinking I just called you on the hotel phone. I was going to call you on my phone now. Here comes the car if you want to switch over” It rang for a few seconds and then she picked up on the other line. He found that one two and three hour slipped away from him just listening to her talk. Her voice was pure ecstasy. “ Shane are you OK?” She noticed that he had grown silent. He was silent because he had no clue who this girl was or even what she looked like but that didn’t matter he found himself getting lost just listening. “Umm yes I’m fine” he sighed. “Just thinking about what you look like that’s all.” he said flirtingly. “Oh yeah what does the picture look like in your head hun” she asked A curious tone in her voice. Shane described every inch of her face that he had built in his mind. She started to giggle. “You promise you’ll still talk to me if I send you a picture” he hope that she was joking. “Of course I’m going to still talk to you why wouldnt I.” A few moments later he felt his phone vibrate against his face. The moment his eyes laid on Eden‘s face. Her skin is pale like ivory. Her hair was the lightest shade of copper and her eyes for Hazel were the perfect mix of green and blue. Almost every inch of her sweet face was covered in freckles. She noticed the sweet little dimple that was hidden on her right cheek. She noticed that she was on the thicker side which he loved even more he found himself imagining her laying in the bed next to him. “Damn girl” he said in a deep sexy tone. She let out a soft giggle. After hours of talking Jillian‘s face flash in his head. His heart sank with the thought of hurting her but Damn where this girl been. He he knew at some point that he would have to tell Eden about Jillian. But when was the right time to say hey I’m married. He looked at the clock and he knew that if he didn’t go to bed now he wouldn’t get up to drive tomorrow. So unfortunately he wasn’t going to tell Eden about Jillian tonight. He could hear the sadness in Eden‘s voice when he said it was time for him to go to sleep. He knew he was going to dream about the sweet girl that he just got off the phone with. But Jillian‘s face was there stopping him. What was he going to do now he felt torn between two worlds. The life that he had at home with Jillian and this new adventure he had just started with Eden. What was he going to do.
