My Dark Angel

I saw him standing there, the headlights of my car shown around him as I sucked in a breath I couldn't let out. His dark eyes staring  at me as I sat motionless in the middle of road. His half naked body shined from the blood that rolled down shoulder and chest. Where had he come from? His hands stayed clenched as he looked down at the blood flowing down his body. Had I really just hit a person with my car, why couldn't I move, how was he still alive. I finally let out a small quiver of a breath, as I unbuckled my seat belt. I never took my eyes off of him. I grabbed the handle to the door to open it. As the door began to open he looked up and me with a sly gin. My heart skipped a beat, it felt like it had stopped beating all together. The blood, the blood that had once ran down his naked chest was gone.  "s**t" the word escaped my mouth before I knew what I was saying. he started to walk to the drivers side door that I had partially opened. I shut the door a hard as I could and hit the lock button before scrambling over to the  passenger side door. As I looked around I no longer saw him. Was it a dream, was I hallucinating ? Just drive away that is all you have to do, just drive away. I looked around all the windows and still saw no sign of the man who I had just hit with my truck. there was nothing, no one, no a singling living thing that I could see. I drove down this dirt road every night going home from work. I had never seen another vehicle  let alone a half naked man standing in the middle of  county dirt road in the middle of freaking nowhere. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Maybe it was a deer, maybe I hit a deer and bumped my head on the steering wheel. I grabbed the handle of the door and heard it unlock. " ohhhhh, you're a dumb b***h, keep your ass in the car." I said to myself as I slipped out of the seat and put my feet on the ground. just a quick look I thought to myself as I snuck around to the front of my truck. " Holy s**t! Did I hit a f*****g cow!" I screamed As I looked at my bent grill guard. " You did hit me pretty hard, You were going pretty fast Cora" I looked up frantically looking for the person the rough masculine voice came from. I still didn't see anyone. I turned to run back into the truck as I turned to the side of the vehicle I ran into a hard bare chest. As I started to fall backwards I saw him smile. My head hit the side of the hood and everything stared to go black. As I started to drift into unconsciousness a final thought went through my head. Cora, he said Cora, how did he know my name?
