Chapter 5
Bianca's pov
Jerry trailed after me as I passed the guards situated at the passageway to the king's chamber.
I could feel their eyes on me—almost eating me up.
Even Jerry complimented me… Merr outdid herself on this.
"We're here," Jerry's voice came, and I looked up at the gigantic suite before me.
This is definitely another mansion from the ones we passed. His chamber was built differently, even though it was still the same palace.
I entered the hallway and looked back at Jerry, who wasn’t making any attempt to follow me—as if he detected my inner mind.
"You’ll be going in alone, mi'lady," he said, and I shivered.
Am I about to be slaughtered or—wait… no.
I looked back, and he was nowhere to be found.
I’m alone. I have to face this alone—just me.
You can do this, Bianca.
I walked through the hallway and got confused. I wasn’t even able to get his room’s floor number from Jerry.
"Hello," I heard a voice, and a lady dressed as a pack's maid stood behind me.
"Follow me." I did just as I was told. We climbed up the stairs and got to a door where we stopped.
"Here. You can go in," she said, eyeing my dress before turning to climb down.
I wanted to stop her and ask her to knock for me or something, but…
I looked back at the door and slowly creaked it open.
I was struck again by the beauty of the room.
Really? This king.
No sign of anybody as I walked in. I saw a door slightly ajar and decided to check there.
I creaked open the door and entered—but I froze.
Was it just me, or was the heat too much? I felt f*****g hot suddenly. I was tempted to fan myself with my hand.
I refused to look up because his gaze was f*****g doing things to me. And to the moon goddess—the weight of power that gaze carried.
"Ahem," someone cleared his throat, and that forced me to look up... the Beta. That sly wolf.
Oh, he didn’t hear that… right? Right?!
"I'll take my leave now, Your Highness," he said and bowed, then walked away.
The temperature dropped. I wasn’t feeling hot anymore.
I was f*****g cold—cold but still feeling silly.
Ohw, our mate is sooo…
Shut up, I scolded my wolf.
I felt his bodice cover me, the heat from his body driving me insane.
Oh, I hope I’m not the only one feeling this way. He should too. He f*****g should.
He touched me. The touch—goodness!!
He grabbed my waist roughly. The force made my body crash into his. I heard him growl.
Or was I just wishing he did?
"Look up," his cold voice came.
The voice… why so perfect, why!?!
I slowly looked up, but I felt his nose nuzzle my neck, like he was inhaling me.
Gawd!!
"And you’re dressed to seduce me, huh?" The movement of his mouth on my neck was putting my mind in disarray. I couldn’t even decipher what he said.
He inhaled more, and I wished he never stopped.
But then he took his face from my neck, his hold on my waist loosened.
"Little mate," I heard him say. I was shocked—but I concealed it. His hand moved to my hair, tucking some fallen tendrils behind my ear.
"You have only one test. I want you to figure it out yourself."
I looked up at him. Isn’t it to prove to him that I can?
"I believe you’re not one cowardly wolf. For you to be mated to me—a Lycan—then surely, you must be something useful," he said.
Was that supposed to be an insult?!
"That one test is in your palm. Figure it out and tell me. Then I’ll claim you, mark you as mine, and take you anywhere—and anyhow—you want."
Gosh, his words! Does he mean them? He’ll claim me, mark me, and... and... oh my—
Yes, yes!!
But then... what’s this test he wants me to figure out?
So it’s not just about proving to him that I’m strong and can be a capable Luna.
I could do all that, but without figuring out what his test is, he won’t mark me.
Still... goodness, I looked up and my gaze met his—those beautiful eyes and full eyebrows.
Wish I could caress them someday.
What are you thinking, Bianca!!!
I can do it. I’ll figure it out—and also prove to him I’m a strong and capable Luna.
I saw him tug at the corner of his lips. Is he making fun of me here?
"You can leave. Your training starts tomorrow... Show me what you can do, little omega," he said, and with that, he strolled off to wherever.
