Chapter 4
Bianca's pov
I looked at Ric, the pack's Beta, as he said stuff—things I already knew and was ready to go for.
"Sorry to interrupt, Beta," I said. Of course, I was getting tired of the repetition. If these are his conditions, then thank him for ruining my expectations. I saw him look at me as though I’m a pain in his ass... well, whatever.
"I already know all this… all of it. I want to be accepted by my mate. You don’t need to remind me, and I’d also prove to him that I’m capable of being a good Luna to the pack. All of this is to my favor," I stared at him.
"So what’s your own condition?" Silence rented my room. I watched him stand and walk to the door, his back towering.
"Win his heart first, and then my conditions come in. But before then," he turned—
"Win his heart... I’ll teach you fighting skills, how to protect yourself from the enemies, how to make a brave speech without breaking down. Well, I know you’re such a brave omega, but that’s not enough. The king likes a strong one too—someone who matches his vibe."
"But I guess with some training—or more—you’ll do better."
"And it’s not just about being a strong and brave Luna... you’ll also serve him in the other room." I choked—wait! What?!!!
He stared at me as if I’m a mess.
"Don’t act surprised. The king will also put into consideration your efforts in the other room," he turned again to leave.
"So today ends your rest. Tomorrow, you begin your training. But this evening, you’ll be meeting with the king." He didn’t let me digest his words—he disappeared.
Meet the king? Is he trying to kill me?
I can't wait, my wolf cried inside.
Oh, you don’t know what’s coming, you little tiny wolf.
It squeaked. I could feel it wagging its tail.
Just then, Merr walked in and bowed.
"I already told you to stop bowing your head for me. We can be friends," I saw her smile.
"You know, I’ve always wanted to meet someone who would like me and talk to me normally. Thank you," she said, and I chuckled.
"So you mean everybody here is mean to you?" She nodded.
"Except Jerry," she said, tucking a tendril of her hair behind her back.
Oh, I see that. She has a crush on Jerry... hmmm... mm.
"Okay?..." I intentionally drawled that, and she blushed harder.
"You’ll always be my friend as long as I’m in this palace," I said, and she nodded.
"You know, when I first saw you, I really thought you were one weak omega. But being this close to you, I wish to learn from your braveness. I admire you," I chuckled.
"Well, that surely is a beautified insult," I said, and she smiled.
"But I do mean it."
"Thanks, then."
"The Beta mentioned I should dress you up this evening, so I’d have to do some ransacking," she said and did a small jog to the wardrobe.
"I don’t really need too much..."
"I heard you’re meeting the king." How did she know that?
"So... we have to dress you in a fine silk dress to kill. I don’t want you to capture just the king but even more people."
"Merr!!! Gosh, and here I was thinking you’re innocent," I sighed.
"Oww, I?? You really made a mistake thinking that way. I am one spoilt girl; I only need that one friend to take a stroll on."
"Oh, here it is!" she chuckled as she brought out a purple sleek dress.
"This... is it," she walked to me and dropped the dress on the bed.
"It’s giving seducer vibes, and I love it."
"For moon goddess’ sake, Merr!" She whirled around.
"Yes?" she answered as if she knew nothing.
"This dress isn’t gonna work," I declined.
"Why’s that?" She raised the dress to my face.
"This slit here will bring out your scrumptious, sexy legs, and I promise you, the king will be driven. And the tiny hand—have you seen your collar? You could pass for an Alpha’s daughter or even a Lycan. Then the open bosom... to moon goddess, how I admire your full..."
"Enough!! Fine, I’ll wear it," I succumbed.
"Yes!!" She literally jumped on me, and I smiled, recalling what the Beta said. Serving the king in the other room will put me into consideration—but that’s not really what I wanted.
I want the king to want me. He should crave me or something—not me being a little seductress.
I’m putting this on because of some situation. The king had better not think I want to seduce him—or even the Beta. I don’t want that one to think what he said made me wear what I’m about to wear.
