I moved around in my chambers, my heart restless, still reminding me of what I'm after.
Bianca or the throne?
Yet I yearn for both.
Why would Rucker come out of nowhere and make such a bargain? How did he even know I’m into the king’s mate?
No wonder he’s Lucan’s brother.
But then?
He’s no longer in the dungeon—I helped him escape.
Will the king find out?
I’m already in his black book. If he finds out I helped Rucker escape, that only means I’d be dead—no doubt.
I only have to go with Rucker’s idea for now.
If he doesn’t harm Bianca, then it's good both ways—because I’ll kill him and take the throne if he’s able to get his hands on Lucan.
