Part 24 - Present Day
The next day, I woke up and wasn't even able to stomach coffee. Seeing Allison at work was something I was absolutely dreading. I knew Matteo said she was going to move, but I was beyond nervous to face her at work. As I drove to work, a text from Matteo appeared on my dashboard. When I was at a red light, I looked to read it. It said: Let me know how everything goes today. It'll be alright, I promise. I felt my heart race when I saw the text. He used to always say that- whenever I was worried about everything- that he promised it would be alright. When I pulled up to work, I was expecting to go inside and see Allison. However, I saw her walking out of the building- not in scrubs. I wanted to stay in my car- but I knew she would see me if she walked by to her car. I s
