2 weeks after July 4th, Matteo had arranged to move his mom into the retirement community. It was on a Friday, and he took off work that day to start packing some of her belongings. "Do you want me to take off work early and help you out at all?" I asked him. "You don't have to." Matteo said, "Really. And please don't think I am shutting you out- because I'm not- but I think it would be easier if I took her there myself. I'm planning on bringing her, and then dropping off most of her belongings after she settles in. I already brought some of her clothes over. She might get confused if someone else but me is there.
