Max hobbled out to the center of the arena. He could feel August’s concern as if it was tangible. Maybe being injured hadn’t been the worst thing to happen to him. He could possibly use it to his advantage if he milked it just right. His competition had turned into his dragon form and was roaring and posturing. Max snorted. Another show-off, great. The dragon’s roar ended and a plume of flame headed Max’s way without any hesitation. The announcer screamed as part of her outfit caught fire and she beat at the flames with her hands. “I hope you lose!” She screeched at the monster before she ran out of the arena.
