chapter 1 THE LOVE IN US Kevin's pov I woke up from the bed with a splitting headache, I could barely see and there was a slight ringing sound in my ear, must have been the effect of the alcohol. I stumbled my way to the kitchen in just my pair of shorts to get myself a cup of coffee. I made myself a cup of instant coffee, a hangover meal would have been better but I wasn't a good cook, Danielle always does the cooking for me. my apartment was so scattered from the party I held yesterday. 'i need to climb the ladder of success' I said to myself as I sipped my coffee. I was lost in thoughts when Anne embraced me from behind. I clenched my cup of coffee so hard because she disgusts me and she is a w***e, a spoilt brat, am still with her because of d benefits I stand to gain by dating her. "Good morning baby" she whispered seductively as I turned and gave her a quick peck on the forehead. "we need to go to work, and my apartment needs cleaning" i said hurriedly. "just call Danielle to do it" she replied. Danielle, my first 'love' I liked her because her dad was rich and she was the only child, but she left home because of her love for me that b***h, why on earth would she leave house,' and her father disowned her because he doesn't like me. But am not ready to leave her, she is mine. Her father can't abandon her like that, not when she is the only child and heir to his empire. I picked up my phone and called her over to come help me clean up. "see u at work" Anne said as she pecked my cheeks and left for work. DANIELLE'S pov "why are you glaring at me jenny?" I said as I ended the call with Kevin. "are u blind Danny" she said angrily "can't you see that he is using you?" "are you his maid or his girlfriend?" she sighed Jennifer has always been there for me, ever since I lost my mother and brother she has been both a sister and a friend to me but I don't get why she doesn't like Kevin. "I love him" I replied weakly. "but he doesn't love you" she said I really did love him. I left home to be with him, I worked different part time jobs to get him educated and I made sure he lived a comfortable life. I had set my mind on marrying him and nothing can change that. "I think you should be more worried about your boyfriends jenny?" I said c*****g an eyebrow. "you are right, they are all a source of headache and am tired of all of them" she said as she fell back on the bed, "or you could just choose one" I said as I picked my bag and ready to leave. jenny has always been a carefree person, having multiple boyfriends at a time and breaking off with them anytime she feels like it, I wonder where she gets the courage from. "don't try to change the topic Danny"she said glaring at me "I don't want to have this conversation with you this morning, it's too early for that" I snapped and stormed out of the house. I went to Kevin's place to help him clean it up. The place was really a mess but I have always been a hardworking person. He invited me on a dinner party, where dignitaries from his place of work will be present and I can't wait to see him there. Nathan's pov "ok grandpa, I have heard you" I said ending the call before he could respond. I didn't want to hear him nag me again about getting married. I stood in front of my office window, lost in thoughts. my grandfather wants me to get married, but I have a clinical condition, I have been diagnosed with selective erectile dysfunction (SED). after finding out about this, I just couldn't think of being with any woman. my grandad just wants great grand kids, so he has been pushing me to give marriage a try. I can't even tell him no because I love him so much, he has always been there for me after I lost my family. Being a popular and ruthless business man, the media is quite interested in my love life. They have presumed a lot of things about me, They went as far as calling me gay.No one knows about my condition except my grandfather and Chris my best friend and right hand man. "sir, you have a business dinner to attend" Chris said interrupting my train of thoughts "Chris, grandpa is nagging me again" I told him sincerely. "I really think he is right, you should try searching, you might actually find someone that can help you" he advised. I was already tired of searching for someone am not even sure if they exist. "prepare the car" I said coldly to Chris. I had a business party to attend to, my business comes first. My black Lamborghini pulled over at blooming flowers hotel where the party was taking place. I wasn't in the least interested in signing a business deal with Mr. gray, but my grandfather wanted to help his declining business because of the friendship they once shared, so he asked for my help.That old man does nothing but show kindness to everyone and he knows I can't say no to him. I walked into the hotel with Chris trailing behind me, using the VIP elevator, I got to the floor where the party was going on. "Good evening sir" Mr. Gray said as he walked up to me and offered a handshake with a bow. I looked at him sternly before reciprocating. He has always wanted me to marry his daughter so that he could attach himself to our family and live off my fortune. Time was passing by very slowly and I wanted to go back to my place, having fun wasn't just for me. after discussing contacts with Mr. Gray, I stood up to leave and that was when I saw her, eyes as blue as the ocean that they bored their way deep into my soul, skin white, pale and flawless. she was just effortlessly beautiful. I stood there in a trance staring at her as she walked towards me, she was in heels and walked with elegance. I felt the temperature rise in my body at that moment and I was speechless. I didn't know what was going on with my body at that moment, but I felt excited. I let my eyes wander over her body and I bit my lips trying to hold my emotions back. Am not supposed to be having these feelings for a woman but I couldn't help myself. I was attracted to her. she walked up to me and tripped, she might have gotten nervous because of how I was starting at her, but I caught her and held her close to my chest. she smelt really nice. I could feel my throbbing erection in my pants and I was amazed. Danielle's pov I went to the party with Kevin. The hall was huge and nicely decorated. "I will be leaving soon to meet some prominent business men, I hope you will be okay" Kevin inquired sweetly, but before I was able to reply him, a redheaded pretty girl walked up to us lackadaisically "I have to borrow him for a while" she said with a smirk plastered on her face before dragging Kevin away to God knows where. I couldn't care much about it because I really wanted Kevin to secure some connections and become a successful business man of his own. I loved him a lot and I didn't want to be an obstacle to him. I was bored because I didn't know anyone here and I felt left out, I decided to wait around a little while for Kevin. I sighed in boredom when I waited for 30 minutes and Kevin was not back to me yet, I let my eyes wander around the hall and I saw him having a discussion with the redhead. I decided to walk over to him and tell him that am about to leave. As I was walking towards Kevin, a young man stood right across me, he was the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on, he is tall, well built and his hair was jet black. He was just the definition of the perfect man. he had his hands in his pocket and he stood there in a trance staring directly at me, he had this deep dark eyes, and I felt like he could see right through me all the way to my soul. I was lost in his beautiful eyes and the way he was staring at me made me so nervous that I lost balance as soon as I approached him, he caught me firmly but as soon as his fingers made contact with my bare body, I felt a spark of electricity, more like a tingling sensation and it washed over my entire body, his manly scent wafted through my nose and I clung unto him, I didn't want to let go of him "I Am sorry" I said as soon as I got a hold of myself and I scurried away. Kevin was still in a conversation with the redhead so I decided to leave the party without letting him know. I couldn't stop thinking about the guy from the party and the way my body reacted to his touch, I had never felt that way before. I was jolted out of my thoughts by the sound of my ringtone. "I am sorry I left without letting you know Kev" I said as soon as I picked the call, I just hope he is not angry. "no, you don't have to apologize, I called to know if you reached safely" he replied calmly over the phone and I let out a sigh of relief. this is one thing I like about him, he never raises his voice at me. I decided to take a good rest since jenny wasn't here to keep me company with the stories of her boyfriends, I really miss her and I don't know why she isn't home yet, maybe she is busy breaking the heart of someone's son. After I had a good rest, I decided to make dinner Incase jenny comes home late, while making dinner, my phone beeped and it was a text message from Kevin telling me to come at a hotel room in water Lily hotel tomorrow Evening, my imagination ran wild as I smiled sheepishly... maybe he has finally made the decision to propose to me, I have been waiting for his proposal for so long, he is someone I would like to spend the rest of my life with him irrespective of what other people say about him, He really completes me .
