Chapter 6Zale had little to no memory of the walk back to Albus’ house, but pain and fatigue were his ever-present companions. When Albus lowered him to a mattress, he snapped his eyes open. They were in the tower. “You haven’t eaten all day.” Albus’ voice was low and intimate. “I’m not hungry.” When had he last eaten anything? Yesterday? Two days ago? He’d had a few cups of tea. “I’ll fix something.” The next time Zale opened his eyes, Albus was back in the room, carrying a tray. “Hey.” Zale smiled. He was beautiful in the waning daylight. The rosy sky was visible outside the massive arched window.
