Chapter 5Albus carried Zale down the stairs. For a second, he’d forgotten how sick he was despite the scent of the illness clinging to him. He had to be more careful—no fast movements, no quick lifts. All color had drained from Zale’s face when he’d grabbed him. There was no way he could disguise his scent from Saxon, but maybe it would make him act fast if he realized Zale didn’t have much time left. His heart hammered uncomfortably in his chest.
