Chapter Thirteen

I finished rereading the note and put it back in my wallet. Shaking my head. It meant a lot that he wanted to be in AJ's life but at the same time, The fact he wanted to leave Amber for us, made me feel bad, Specially now after meeting her.

She seemed like such a lovely girl.

Someone knocked on the door, I thought it was Demi, so i told her to come in, but When the door opened, it was Tom stood there.

'Hey, Are you OK?' He asked.

'Yeah, I'm fine.' he slid into the room and closed the door, Leaning against it. 'Where's James?'

'He left... So.. ' I looked at him

'So, what?'

'Aaron huh?' I nodded. 'Why didn't you tell me?'

'Well. after the way you just acted, Looks like I made the right decision'. He looked down and shook his head.

'He's really not mine?' He asked, This time, I shook my head. 'Well... What are you going to do now?' I just shrugged my shoulders. 'Why don't you stay for a bit?' He suggested.

'I'm here for a week or so'.

'Nah, I mean, stay for a little while.. a couple of months or something?'

'I can't, I wish I could but I can't sorry' I told him. He looked sad.

'Well, While your in town, At least come and stay at mine' He said. 'Your clothes and everything is still there, You never took them and I couldn't throw them out. Please' He asked. I shook my head again.

'I can't.' I told him. He sighed and nodded, walking out the bathroom again. I followed but then as we got to the top of the stairs, I heard AJ start crying. I walked to where it was coming from.

'Mommy' He happily said when he saw me, But then he saw Tom behind me and started getting upset again

'Shhh...Baby, It's OK, This is Tom, He's not going to hurt you.' I told him. He smiled, But AJ leaned into me. He soon calmed down though, I put him down on the sofa and covered him up with the blanket.

'He looks so sweet' Tom whispered from behind me. I turned to look at him. I didn't realise how close we were. I nodded and moved away from him. Demi came into the front room, followed by the others, carrying cleaning supplies.

'How's your nose?' Amber asked. I looked at her and smiled.

'Well, I don't think it's broken, It just hurts like a b***h' I smiled. She smiled back. 'Hey Dem, Can I get a drink?' I asked. She just looked at me with a 'Don't be stupid by asking just get one' look. 'Um, I don't know where the kitchen is' I said, Tom laughed and put an arm around my waist.

'I'll show you' He pulled me from the room and down to the kitchen.

He walked over to the fridge and got out a whole bunch of beers. 'So, How have you been then, I mean, Tell me the truth now there are no secrets in the works' He smiled. Oh how wrong he was, There are secrets, Always will be.

'If you could go back in time and have AJ with me, would you?' I was confused.

'What do you mean?'

'If you could change things so that AJ was mine... would you?'

'No' I admitted honestly.

'Because it would be robbing the world of one of the best things Aaron ever did. Don't you think?' I asked. Tom nodded.

He grabbed the beers and walked back into the front room without saying another word to me. I followed him, Everyone had finished cleaning up and they were now sat on the sofas talking. Me and Tom walked in and it seemed like everyone shut up.

Weird.

We passed the beer around and Tom sat down on the chair.

'It's cool, Sit on me' He said, Only then I realised there were no seats left. 'Come on, You know I don't bite' I smiled and sat down 'Unless you want me to' He whispered in my ear but only loud enough for me to hear. I giggled lightly.

'So, Katie We're all going to the movies later and then going to spend the guys hard earned money, Wanna come?' Amber asked. Wow, She is nice.

'Oh...I don't think you guys would want me to come, Im an outsider now' I said as a joke everyone laughed.

'Are you nuts, Dont be stupid, You were the first one to meet the guys out of any of us remember?' Demi said. I smiled.

'Yes, But me and Katie weren't the first couple remember' Tom said looking at Liam. He smiled.

'No, But you were the first couple to start messing around with each other remember' Liam shot back, Everyone laughed. 'But no, You should go with the girls, It will be fun for you, Hanging with someone other than James or his friends' Was that a little dig there or something.

'Well, For your big info Liam, I do have my own friends in LA, So there, My best friend is called Charlotte' I flipped him off, Everyone 'Oooooo burned' Him it was so funny.

'But no, You should come, You fit in well' Peyton said.

'I can't, I don't have anyone to look after AJ do I' I said. They all 'Oh'ed

'Well, Peyton's the nanny and she's coming with us, So Liam is looking after his children tonight' Demi said. Has she forgotten that Aj's dad can't exactly babysit...Duh.

I think she realised it coz she suddenly looked down

I'm sorry, I didn't mean-'

'It's cool'

'My point was, Liam and the guys can look after him'.

'Really?' I told her, She nodded.

'Well, Im sure me and the guys can do it' Tom suddenly spoke up. We all looked at him 'Well, Were helping Liam with the twins, We can have AJ too' He said. The guys nodded happily.

'Really, You guys sure' I asked. They all nodded again. 'Ok, Thank you so much' The other girls started smiling.

'Yay, A new friend' Amber started clapping. Yes, I can see why Aaron loved her.

AJ climbed off the sofa and came over to me, Opening his arms, I picked him up and cuddled him. Everyone Awww'ed making him go all shy and bury his face in my shoulder.

Just then, The twins started crying upstairs. Demi groaned and she and Liam headed up to sort them out.

'Well, I'm going for some more beer, Who wants one?' Everyone cheered and she, Amber, Ollie and Mike left the room too, Leaving me, AJ and Tom alone.

'Mummy, Can I see my daddy now?' I looked down at him.

'Wh-Why are you asking about your daddy?' He's never asked for that, why is he suddenly asking now?!

'You were all talking about my daddy before' He admitted sadly. It made my heart sink, I turned and looked at Tom, i didn't know what to say or do. 'Is my daddy here?'

'AJ, Listen-'

'Yeah little man, I'm here'. My shot around to look at Tom the second the words come out his mouth. No. No No No!

'Are you my daddy?'

'Yeah little dude, I am'. I was so shocked, I honestly had no idea what to even say! He had a massive smile on his face, looking up at Tom.

Mike came back into the room.

'Can you watch AJ for a minute?' He nodded. 'Thanks'. I placed him on the floor and got up, Yanking Tom up with me and pulled him out the room.

'Whats up?' he asked. Seriously?

'Are you for f*****g real?!' I scolded.

'What?'

'You just f*****g told MY child, you are his dad, YOU'RE NOT!'

'I thought it would be best then when he's older, We will tell him the truth... When he can understand' I shook my head, f**k sake. What choice did I have, I couldnt go back in there and tell him the truth? I sighed and nodded, I really wasn't f*****g happy about this!

He smiled and walked back into the room...
