Chapter 3.

(Elena's POV) Shit! I had failed the mission. Instead of appeasing Evander, I had made him angrier. I couldn't tell what I was to do in that situation. My creative stream was totally blocked. Seeing Evander's bloodshot eyes made me recollect the first time I met him. The experience was so… (FLASHBACK…) It was a very sunny afternoon. The incident was a remarkable which I couldn't help but remember. It was stuck in my memory and I couldn't battle it totally by myself. On that afternoon, I was quite baffled. I didn't know what was happening with me. The nervousness of having special powers still remained bold in my mind. I was really confused. It seemed so new to me. I felt like a witch. Some people jested and called me a 'witch'. I found it hard to convince myself that I was just a normal werewolf like those who mocked me. Evander's presence to my life was a royal one. It was totally unexpected. It all started when I heard some noise outside my house. I was actually naked in the room. I was sweating profusely because of the heat. I didn't know those who were making nosie right outside my house. I had my predictions and suspicions but all were confirmed when I heard the royal trumpet. It was a distinct sound which I could never mistake for something else. Hearing the royal trumpet, I now knew who was right at my door. It was the Alpha! I was scared and this gave room for panicking. Normally, an Alpha rarely moves out his Mansion. An Alpha could only leave his mansion for an important mission. This made me more scared. I began to pray silently that the Alpha's presence in my house wouldn't be for evil. I made sure I said the prayer confidently. Not wasting time, I got my clothes on and set to go outside. However, before I went out, I muttered a word of prayer for my protection. Now, I was confident. It was time to go out and attend to the Alpha's needs. I unlocked the door and went outside. Quickly, I knelt on the ground and bowed to the Alpha. "Greetings, Alpha Evander…"I greeted curtly. I was still bowing. "It's okay, child…" Alpha Evander replied. He stroked his beards and watched me. This was the first time which I had a conversation with the Alpha. My heart was thumping harder as each word escaped from my mouth. The Alpha looked very relaxed but slightly bothered. I had the ability of reading people's emotions and fears. This was one of the psychological gifts I had. "Only God knows what's bothering the Alpha…" I thought silently. There was silence. One could hear a pin drop. The overwhelming silence was one which I couldn't handle at first. However, as time went by, I got used to it. I looked up slowly and caught the Alpha's eye. Quickly, I stopped glancing at me. My eyes were fixed to the ground. I didn't want any trouble for myself. This was my first time of seeing the Alpha up close. The Alpha, despite not coming out often, was well known for his bad attitude. I have heard a lot of stories about him. The actual truth is that ninety nine percent of the stories portrayed him as an evil man. Looking at his face, I was captivated by his handsomeness. I began to wonder if the stories about me were fabricated. His facial expression didn't look like that of an evil man. Evander sighed. I stopped thinking immediately. This was Evander's way of telling me to start a conversation. However, I had no idea of how to start a conversation with the Alpha. But as usual, my sharp brain came through for me. I was able to think of something before it was too late. My voice was low, mild, and sounded weak. "How may I help you, my Lord?" I asked curtly. I didn't want to make any mistake while talking to the Alpha. Evander sighed again. It was a sigh of relaxation and comfortability. "I was about to tell you that," Alpha Evander said slowly. His voice was cool. I fell in love with his coolness instantly. His massive coolness made him look cool. It also made him more charming. Another silence. "Should I talk?" I wondered silently in my heart. I didn't want to look too serious or curious. This might make Alpha Evander look at me with a one-sided view. I didn't want that. I really didn't. Sure. But… But I couldn't continue watch the silence envelope us. I had to break this silence before it turned into something worse. I didn't want to be seen as someone curious, also, I didn't want to be seen as someone uninteresting. I couldn't act as both. I had to choose one. Which one was safer? Shit! Let me be portrayed as 'curious'. It was better than staying in silence. "I'm listening, my Lord…" I managed to say. I added no special emotions to the words. "Oh! I forgot myself," Alpha Evander muttered. "Can I talk now?" Wow! Instantly, I became captured into Evander's world. He sounded so humble, respectful, and reasonable. I began to imagine how lucky his woman would be. But, I had to put that apart for now. I should answer his question. "You can talk, my Lord…" I replied curtly. "Okay, I would want you to move in to my mansion…" That was how he started. He managed to convince me against my stand. The funny thing was that I didn't think about the bad stories I heard about him. All I focused on was the positive impact at the moment. I was faulty. Yeah, I had a lot of faults. (END OF FLASHBACK) "Elena! What the hell are you thinking about again? Does my presence mean nothing to you or you want me to hit you?" He shouted at me. Jeez! This was trouble.
