“Sir this is the scanned image of the paper the special forces received from General Ayrona. You might want to prepare, your supreme excellency.”
The scanned images were linked up to the main television screen, written there was a clause that the Empire of Liberty shall adhere after surrendering itself to the Imperial Carmine Empire.
The empire shall dispatch an imperial representative to become the King of the Empire of Liberty.
Empire of Liberty’s laws shall be audited by the empire and revised as necessary.
The Empire of Liberty army shall comply with the empire and be stationed wherever ordered.
Empire of Liberty shall send a requested number of slaves to the empire every year.
The Empire of Liberty shall not establish diplomatic ties with any other country without the express approval of the empire.
Empire of Liberty shall disclose a list of all their resources to the empire. Should the empire request any resources, the Empire of Liberty shall send those resources to the empire.
The Empire of Liberty shall disclose all of their magical technologies to the empire.
In the name of the emperor, any Imperial Carmine citizen has the right to kill any Empire of Liberty citizen.
Empire of Liberty citizens will…
“What the hell is this?!” Michael cried, his hands firmly clenched into fists. These conditions weren’t even belonging to a vassal state, they were the worst possible colonial state. He couldn’t even find them acceptable.
“Sir we can launch a strike package and have it there in their position in minutes, just say the word.” One of the generals has the same expression as him. Conditions so utterly ridiculous like this from a country that is not even in a modern era. How presumptuous.
“Where’s my Minister of Defense?”
“She’s in the Pentagon sir, awaiting your orders, we’ve already scanned their warships and they are dated back from the early 1760s, equipped and armed with cannons and archers, and ballistae. In addition, we detected some radiofrequency in their location through our satellites. I believe that they have some sort of electronics technology.” Raphael finished reporting.
Michael had heard enough, “Very well, at least in this world, we can use the electronics warfare technologies we have. Admiral, order the Battlecruiser in the area to issue a warning, if they didn’t abide, shoot a warning shot, and if didn’t comply after that, they have permission to shoot.”
“Aye aye, sir.”
…
Kirov-Class Battlecruiser weapon’s officer manipulated the joystick that controls the weapon system, specifically, the AK-130 naval gun installed at the fore and aft of the ship.
The two menacing-looking cannons from the cold-war era were aimed slightly off of their flagship.
Meanwhile, in the air, a Russian helicopter KAMOV Ka-27 fitted with a long-range acoustic device hovers in the air. The two rotor blades on top gave an impression of a menacing beast, sending out fear to the ones who gaze upon it.
Captain Ayrona looked at the flying metal, it was definitely not a wyvern or a dragon. It was just metal heading towards them at a frightening speed.
He was dumbfounded at the metal ships similar to the latest ships that they’re currently testing.
That’s right, they have a ship made out of metal.
This flying metal made him dumbfounded again.
While in that state, the flying metal miraculously speaks.
“This is the Empire of Liberty Navy, you’re infringing the territorial waters of the Empire of Liberty. Alter your course and leave or else we will open fire. I repeat your course and leave or else we will open fire.”
Ayrona was snapped back to reality after hearing the message.
“What...are they insinuating that they’re rejecting our offer? Unforgivable, since it’s come to this...Everyone battle stations, those who are the nearest, fire at that floating metal ship.”
“Aye aye captain.”
Captain Ayrona was left with no choice, rejecting the most humble conditions his country could offer was put into waste. Now they’ll teach this barbarian country a lesson.
Twenty ships sailed forward, ignoring the repeating message of the helicopter.
“DO NOT ADVANCE ANY FURTHER! I REPEAT DO NOT ADVANCE ANY FURTHER!”
The Kamov Ka-27 pilots decided to turn off the broadcast and returned to the battlecruiser as the enemy had chosen their fate.
The twenty ships in half-mast turned to the right to aim their 36-pounder long gun.
“Captain! The ship is not moving at all.”
Ayrona snickered, “Those barbarians do not know that our cannons can attack any targets within 2.5 kilometers? Order the commanding officer on each fleet to open fire when ready and have the wyvern aerial support in stand by.”
“Aye aye captain!”
Now...while the ships are moving closer to them, little did they know, the AK-130 naval gun of the Kirov-Class Battlecruiser is aimed at them.
“Captain, they are decisive! It’s only a matter of time before the range of their artillery gets to us.”
“We have permission from the higher-ups to shoot, but fire a warning shot first.”
“Aye aye captain.”
In the aft of the ship, something exploded akin to a thunderstrike. Ayrona was silenced for a moment and saw a column of water rise right next to the ships he had sent.
“They can shoot from that distance?” His eyes trembled but regained it after carefully analyzing it.
“Their artillery is not accurate, continue forward!”
The message was magically transmitted to the twenty ships.
…
“Sir, it looks like they are not slowing down.” The officer of the fire control system of the AK-130 said.
“Then do what you have to do.”
“Aye aye captain.”
This time, the AK-130 naval gun will not miss, integrated with the latest and sophisticated firing control system, its accuracy with a margin of error of .005 percent. They will certainly hit.
-Bang.
Another thunderous explosion caused one of the ships to explode instantly. Not only that, it was followed by another great explosion since the 130mm HE round hits the gunpowder deck.
This shocked and dumbfounded most of the sailors near the unlucky ship, their eyes quaking left to right in fear. Should they continue forward?
However, the onslaught just began, as the Kirov-Class Battlecruiser readied its anti-ship missile: P-700 Granit.
The upper deck of each side of the bridge was covered in smoke due to the smoke produced by the thrusters of the launched P-700 Granit.
“Wha-what happened? Did they blow themselves up?” Ayrona followed the arrow light in the sky with his eyes and witnessed another deafening explosion powerful enough to rock them even in distance.
“Mo-mo-monsters!” Wailed one of the crews near Ayrona.
“WHAT KIND OF MONSTER IS THAT?!”
“What...should..we...do?”
“Captain your command?”
He was asked by one of the crew, snapping him back to his senses once again as his eyes were drawn at the destruction of the twenty ships in just a second.
Ayrona gathered his strength, “Don’t falter, there is only one ship and we have 4,400. There’s no way that metal ship can win against us! Have the wyverns carriers deploy all their wyverns and destroy that ship!”
Aye aye, captain!”
50 squads of wyverns, totaling 200 were launched from their respective carriers, the pilots of the wyverns were dumbfounded about why they should be sortie if there’s only one ship?
…
The Kirov-Class Battlecruiser started moving away from the ships, trying to not get in range of their cannons. Moving at 25 knots the ship’s radar system searched for prey in the sky.
“Sir, there are 200 signatures detected on our radars, I believe they are wyverns. There are people riding on it.”
“Ready the surface-to-air missiles.”
208 S-300F surface-to-air missiles were launched from their respective launchers, causing the upper deck to be covered in smoke. 200 missiles hit the target while the remaining 8 missiles changed their course and targeted the nearest hovering wyverns.
In total, 208 wyverns were killed in an instant. However, it exhausted most of their surface-to-air missiles, meaning that they’ll only have their naval guns to protect them from aerial threat.
The Captain of the Kirov Battlecruiser knows that as he started contacting the Chief Naval Operations and his message was transferred to the supreme excellency.
“Okay send in the strike package, they’ll be overwhelmed before the Fifth arrives. I don’t want any casualties from our side understood?” Michael ordered.
“Yes sir!”
Twenty minutes out, the Fifth Fleet of the Empire of Liberty responded to help the lone battlecruiser. Destroyers, Cruisers, Frigates, started scrambling their anti-ship and anti-air missiles. Aircraft Carriers deployed their F-18 hornets and Boeing EA-18G Growler.
Having only 60 attack ships on the fleet, they were only able to launch 2000 of their missiles. Meaning that they’ll be at least 2,300 remainings.
The missiles cruised and headed towards the Imperial Carmine Fleet and hit them accurately, causing an instantaneous explosion.
Captain Ayrona wetted himself as he saw the destruction of his fleet the Emperor trusted to command, himself. It will be truly utterly humiliating if he were to return to his mainland and report this to the Emperor. But such thought is futile.
Can he really return there alive?
The Empire of Liberty keeps attacking them from a distance and despite being only one ship, light arrows from the great distance struck them.
“Se-send a report to the command and tell them about our situation!”
“I already did Captain! But no one is responding.” A radio operator shouted back.
Unbeknownst to them, electronic warfare aircrafts such as Boeing EA-18G Growler encircled and jammed their radiofrequency. Even if they can transmit an outgoing signal, it will never arrive at its destination.
“Shi-shi-s**t! This is supposed to be an easy invasion, how did it turn like this?” He let out a cry of agony as he lost power in his knee, “But why’s our ship the only alive? All around us were destroyed and were sent to the bottom of the sea...yet we’re still alive?”
Unbeknownst to him, Michael ordered the fleet to not engage the person responsible for sending him the letter containing presumptuous conditions.
The AGM-158C LRASM from the 140 F-18 Hornets aircraft, totaling 520 missiles was released and hounded towards the remaining ships. It struck the wooden ships and carriers easily and struck those remaining wyverns with AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles.
It was just completely absurd to Captain Ayrona, seeing his great fleet to be defeated from such a barbaric country...no, barbaric is not the right word to describe them. It was more like, superpower.
The remaining ships who survived the m******e quickly and swiftly deserted their position and left the scene. Their destination: back to their country.
Only Captain Ayrona and his crew remain, though there are still some sailors who are fighting for their lives, floating with the debris.
Fifteen minutes later, a majestic fleet unknown to Ayrona appeared in his sights.
A fleet of metal ships arrived. Would that mean their certain death now that the lone ship received reinforcement?
Search helicopters and RHIB were deployed in the aftermath of the naval battle.
A word from the flying metal shocked his very being.
“This is the Empire of Liberty Navy, you’re being rescued I repeat you’re being rescued! Don’t move as our personnel will get to you. Do not resist or else we’ll open fire!”
“Under the word of our supreme excellency, you will be treated humanely as a prisoner of war. I repeat you will be treated humanely as a prisoner of war.”
“Prisoner of war?” Ayrona repeated, “Are we now at war with them?”
Moments later, Captain Ayrona and his crew were taken by the people of the Empire of Liberty and were transported to the floating hospital ship called USNS Mercy.
Back at the situation room. Admirals and Generals cheered abruptly after knowing the result of their first naval battle.
“Okay, Raphael, inform Anastasia about this. Send it to my table later as for the captain who sends us such conditions, I want you to interrogate him about him and his country.”
“I’ll get right away on that, your supreme excellency.”
“Jeez, you don’t have to be formal to me…” Michael chuckled as he patted her head.
“Moah, but we’re working, your supreme excellency.”
“I don’t care. We just won, why can’t we savor this result.” Michael said smoothly.
“Sir you’re being ambiguous in your words.”
“Ambiguous? Don’t tell me you’re thinking something different?” He played with her face, pulling it.
“Ouch...ouch...not my face, Michael…”
Michael chuckled and leaned closer to her face, “I didn’t know that you’re cute when embarrassed, Raphael.”
Her face turned beet red, “Wha-wha-what are you talking about...Michael...you stupid...teasing me like that...I hate you.” And Raphael walked out of the situation room to carry out her duties, bashfully.
Everyone in the situation room gave Michael that ‘look’.
“Okay return to your work, don’t dawdle and chit-chat around.” as he said that, Michael left the situation room.
