The Rigid Inflatable Boat cruising at a speed of 38 towards the unknown fleet. The leader of the squad got a report from the higher-ups just before they could reach the ideal distance for contact.
“Okay boys, this unknown fleet are from the country called the Imperial Empire of Carmine. The relationship between the country that our country is tying diplomatic treaties with the Carmine Empire is strained. So expect some hostility when we boarded that ship if they let us in.” He briefed the squad while glancing at the enormous fleet.
“...Let’s hope that those ships are friendly to us.” He thought.
At the flagship of the Imperial Carmine Empire, the ICE Destroyer, the captain there suddenly received a report from the onlookers at the fore of the ship.
“Sir, we found a small ship heading to our location at great speed.”
“What? It’s too early for mongrel jokes, if I found out that you’re messing with me, you know what happens right?” He glared at the messenger, striking fear in him.
“But sir, I’m not joking, I’m not a person who’s in the right mind to say jokes like that especially during our invasion.” He refuted.
“Okay, I’ll take a look.” Captain Ayrona decided as he swiftly left the hull and looked over to the seas. What he just saw is something out of the ordinary.
“That is really fast…” He said in awe, “However I wonder if their speed can match our firepower.” He thought of something dangerous. “Prepare the troops and have them position here and fire their arrows at my command.”
“Aye aye captain!”
The troops who are aboard the flagship scrambled, getting their equipment and weapons as quickly as possible to not incur the wrath of the captain.
Before they set sail, they loaded hundreds of supplies of arrows coated with a cloth drenched in oil and a round ball. Since they are 4,400 ships sailing, making it an invasion force. Imagine how many of them in total. It will definitely cause great destruction to the country they targeted in their conquest.
From the RHIB, the squad leader had a lot of people there moving at a fast pace. The moment they get into position, the ship slowly turns to the right with the troops drawing the strings of their arrows.
“Shit...I don’t like where this is going.” He said as he reached for his radio, “This is Foxtrot Actual seeing a hostile behavior in the deck of the ships and are now pointing their arrow towards us, requesting guidance over.”
The radio produced a static noise after transmission.
“Foxtrot Actual this is the Kirov, don’t engage and look for another way to establish friendly contact over.”
“Copy that, Kirov.”
Ending the transmission, the squad leader turned around and wave his hand, beckoning his members to huddle.
“So what do people usually do to let the other people know that they are not hostile?” He whispered.
“Normally you would raise your hands to the sky, sir.” One of the soldiers gave his share of opinion, on which besides him is an officer who nodded.
“I agree, I believe that raising your hand is a universal signal for showing you’re not seeking to fight, but it’ll be signified as surrendering sir.”
“But we have no choice, if we don’t do it right now, they’ll fire their arrows.” urged the other officer.
“That’s enough, we’ll do it...decrease our speed slowly and raise your hand.”
The RHIB slowed down and the special forces began raising their hands. As the other side saw that, the archers immediately lowered their weapon by the order of the commanding officer there.
Arriving next to the wooden ship, a ladder made out of rope was deployed to the side of the ships, indicating that the special forces should use this as a means of getting in.
The four of them readied their weapons such as the Heckler & Koch mp5 and an M9 Beretta. They were not aiming it though, they are hiding it behind them as they knew immediately the moment they saw their equipment. There’s no way that they’ll identify a weapon from a modern time as a weapon.
Archers were still looking at them intently, watching for any hasty moves. Some of the people in the deck had already drawn their swords. It was obvious that they were wary of them.
A middle-aged man wearing a medieval-esque commander uniform walked forward and spoke.
“Who are you?”
Unfortunately, it was in a different language. The Special Forces don't know how to respond.
There seems to be a language barrier here.
The middle-aged man asked again, pressuring them on giving them an answer but to no avail.
In his third try, the soldiers began closing in, pointing the swords all over their body indicating that if they don’t talk, they’ll kill them.
“Okay okay…” The Squad Leader immediately replied in the language of Naltum.
“Oho...seems like you’re from the Kingdom Euphoria huh?” The commander said in the same language.
“We’re not affiliated with the Kingdom of Euphoria, we are from the country called Empire of Liberty and we want to discuss something more diplomatically.”
A laugh erupted from the deck, “Empire of Liberty? What the hell is that? Is that even a country...hey bois, have you heard of a country named Empire of Liberty?”
“No captain.”
“They are making us fools captains.”
“I think we should captain them, they are nothing but barbarians anyway…”
A laugh full of mockery erupted again. However, it didn’t affect the soldiers’ mentality.
The squad leader simply said, “Are you done?”
The laughing ended, everyone glared at the man wearing an odd black uniform.
“You have some guts on talking like that, barbarians…”
“As I said before, we wish to talk to the commander-in-charge here.”
“Oh, you’re talking to him right now.”
So the middle-aged man is the captain after all. Well lucky.
“Okay, we wish to know where you’re heading and what’s your goal.”
“A simpleton like you from a country that does not exist, I think I should give you a lesson…” He picked up his musket which is slung on his body, “This is a fine invention from our country you know, if I shoot you point blank, it will create a hole and blood will gush out...fufufu.”
What is this? Trying to be scary? Their weapons are five centuries behind and they are the ones scaring them? The squad leader wanted to laugh but he contained it as it will ire the sailors around here, compromising the safety of his squad.
“Okay fine, but please if you could kindly tell us what you seek then we will be on our way.”
“Hmmph, since you're insisting then I shall give you the answer. The reason was to invade the Kingdom of Euphoria and claim their lands. It will increase the national power of our motherland and will be next to the Grand Empire of the Thames in national power. You know the Kingdom of Euphoria acts as a buffer between our country and the Great Empire, we simply want to eradicate the buffer so we can smoothly deliver our troops to prepare for a grand invasion.”
The squad leader was astounded and dumbfounded at the same time. Just as the higher-ups said, they could probably invade the Kingdom of Euphoria, which can now be validated as a fact, but the other makes him want to laugh again. Why’s the captain here elaborately and detailedly told him about their “Grand plan”?
“I understand, if that’s the case then we’ll be in our way, thank you for having us.”
The job was done, all they have to do is to deliver this information to the higher-ups.
However.
“Oi, who said you can leave now?”
The special forces squad stopped and glanced over their shoulders, “We are just a messenger of our country and our job here is done, what we needed to know is obtained thanks to you. Hmm, don’t tell me that you’re going to kill us?”
It was quite an assumption, but thinking logically, it could be it.
“We will not kill you if you give us that thing.” Ayrona pointed to the RHIB tied in the ship.
But the squad leader shook his head, “Unfortunately we can’t do that, it’s our means of transportation and I don’t think our country will allow that.” He said resolutely.
“Hoh-ho, you barbarians from an unknown country which could be probably a third-rate country have guts on talking to the captain of a superpower... Boys get them.” He ordered and everyone in the deck held them, not letting them get away.
“I forgot to ask, where is your country located?”
“It’s in the western continent near the Kingdom of Euphoria.”
Ayrona gasped, “I see, a third-rate country near the Kingdom of Euphoria. You can speak their language right, so does that mean that your country is a vassal state?”
That didn’t go well. The squad leader knew he screwed up.
“And if it’s affiliated with the Kingdom of Euphoria then your country is our enemy as well.”
“Believe me, you don’t know what you’re talking about, and making us enemies will surely lead your country to doom.”
Ayrona snickered, “This fool, what are you going to do? Ask for help from the Kingdom of Euphoria and the Great Empire of Thames? A small country like you has no value to the eyes of the royals there. They will not be benefited from helping you—”
“Captain! A huge ship spotted there!” One of the onlookers who didn’t pay attention to the deck but to their job reported to Ayrona.
“A ship? Don’t tell me, the fleet of the Kingdom Euphoria arrives?” He walked to the edge of the ship and looked. It was a colossal ship made out of metal moving at great speed cutting the seas despite having no sail.
“...What the? What is that ship?”
A ship made of steel at a distance of two kilometers is closing in. He turned and looked to the gagged special forces and beckoned the man gagging him to remove his hand.
“...They are our ships, the Empire of Liberty ships!”
“Hoh, this is interesting, boys let them go.”
The special forces squad was now free of restraint.
“Tell this to your king, you have two hours to make a decision, become our vassal state or destruction of your country. You can return to your ship...and pass this paper.”
Ayrona said and handed him a paper that contains something. Since they are now allowed to leave, they boarded their RHIB and returned to the Battlecruiser—but before that, Ayrona gave another message.
“I almost forgot, in case you don’t know the way our country deals with our enemy, let me give you some insights. First, we will destroy your cities, burn them to the ground, pillage it, and if we’re lucky, we will r**e the beauties there. So, consider this when making your decision.”
"If you reject our offer, it will be a declaration of war!"
Back at the White House Situation Room. Michael received the report.
“They want us to become their WHAT?! Are those fools joking or are they serious?”
“We can’t just let this slide your supreme excellency, if they threaten the interest of citizens here we shall respond,” Raphael said, looking angry as him.
“I know—General where is the Fifth Fleet?”
“They are thirty minutes out sir.”
“Okay seems like our navy will arrive there before the deadline ends. Generals once they have arrived at the scene issue a warning shot. If they don’t leave and decide to fight with us, they are permitted to shoot.”
“Understood your supreme excellency.” The General picked up the phone and issued Michael’s order.
“Sir if that happens consider placing the country into DEFCON-2. With that, we can have our army mobilize at any moment.”
“No need.” Michael dismissed, “They are just wooden boats with flying birds, there’s no way that they’ll survive the onslaught of the modern fleet. I mean what else can they do?”
