Sirius Blake hurriedly dressed into a more formal one. Thankfully, one of the men in black had already prepared for that as he was given one set of formal suits. Finishing it, he was escorted to a door that does not lead to an elevator.
Sirius felt a sudden fear for a moment. If they want to go down this building then it’s only possible for them to use an elevator right? But they are not using an elevator but stairs. However, Sirius was smart enough to know that they were not going down as the men in black beckoned him to follow them upstairs, leading to a rooftop.
Arriving at the rooftop, Sirius saw a familiar figure of a helicopter. Though its design was different from the one he rode before, this has an eye-catching design.
Unbeknownst to him, it’s a Eurocopter Mercedes-Benz EC-145. A type of luxurious helicopter produced by Mercedes-Benz powered with Turboméca Arriel 1E2 turboshaft engines, that can cruise at a speed of 252 kilometers per hour with a height ceiling of 17,000 feet.
The two men in black beckoned him to go inside of the helicopter. Entering it, he immediately saw the luxurious designs that can’t be compared to the last one.
Well, that was for military use while this one is for business use. To think that the supreme excellency will spoil him this much.
They used this helicopter to head to the White House as soon as possible.
Arriving at the White House, Sirius peered down the window and saw the majestic building even though it was simply designed, for him, it is one of the most beautiful buildings he saw in his lifetime.
Landing at the north portico of the White House, he was then escorted by another group of men in black and led him to a room called “Roosevelt Room.” located at the west wing of the white house near the oval office.
Entering the said room, Sirius didn’t see anyone. Especially the supreme excellency. He walked slowly to the seats that the men in black indicated.
He sat there and looked around. A mahogany desk with Queen Anne Style chairs around it attracted his attention, he felt nostalgic by seeing it as it’s comparably similar to the meeting room he had before. And on every wall, there is a magnificent painting mounted on it.
He waited for the supreme excellency to arrive, five minutes later. He heard a rough footstep outside the room, there were voices that sounded like arguing.
“Look, Anastasia, who suggested you do that thing, wants to become one of my ministers?”
“Sir, as her friend, I know that she has the capability to become your Defense Minister.”
“No, Enterprise is a good option. She has the capabilities of becoming my defense minister as I saw how she handled the operation. For Anastasia, I think she can be my foreign minister don’t you think?”
“Well, if you say so, sir.” Raphael pouted as they entered the Roosevelt Room, and saw Sirius Blake already seated.
They ended their conversation in an instant, Michael headed to his seat while carrying a pile of documents in his hands. Is his supreme excellency busy?
“Thank you for waiting for Sirius Blake as I've been meeting with the energy minister about our current oil reserves,” Michael said, sitting on the designated chair. Raphael sat beside him.
“Sirius Blake, how’s your first sleep in the Empire of Liberty?”
“Well, it was quite good.”
Sirius doesn’t have the right word to describe what he just felt yesterday. Delicious food, comfy beds and pillows, showers, and clothing. He couldn’t find the right word to describe it so he could only answer simply.
“Hmm, that’s good to hear,” Michael said and started opening one file, “Now, let’s get on to business. According to Anna, you’re the mayor of Willow Town is that correct?”
“Yes sir.”
“Then it means that you have an administrative skill is that correct?”
“Yes sir?” Sirius c****d his head as he said that, curious as to why he was being asked about his former occupation.
“Okay, I called you here because I have something to offer you again.”
“What is it, sir?”
“It’s a job.” Michael declared and passed a file to him, “You will become an assistant to my minister of foreign affairs which will be Anastasia, well you haven’t met her but I assure you, she’s a beauty.” He chuckled. “Ow, ow, ow not there it hurts.”
“Sir?” Raphael looked at Michael fiercely, her fingers pinching his legs. Raphael smiled at Sirius who was beet red at Michael’s word.
“Don’t even hope or dream of getting her, Sirius. Though she is a beauty, she will not go for an old man like you.”
“Oi, Raphael,” Michael said, indicating that Raphael somehow crossed the line that might hurt Sirius’s feelings.
“Don’t worry sir, it’s fine.” Sirius doesn’t have the time to spare anymore in love.
“Okay, now that we’ve settled your job, you can start tomorrow by lecturing Anastasia about the culture, traditions, everything that you know of. Especially the Euphoria Kingdom as that will be the first country I’m planning to have diplomatic ties with.” Michael said.
“It is an honor to serve you supreme excellency, for that I shall give you all the knowledge to you now.”
“Hoh?” Michael leaned forward, interested in the subject.
“It’s about the Willow Town sir.”
“Ah, this town?”
“What do you mean sir?” Sirius asked, he must’ve heard it wrong. What does he mean in this town?
Michael gave him a look “Oh you don’t know?”, he then began recalling all the meetings he had with him, and apparently, he didn't.
Michael cleared his throat, “Well the Willow Town that you know of becoming one of the cities of the Empire of Liberty and the place we are standing right now is the former mansion of a lord here.
“What?” Sirius felt his head dizzy the moment he heard the answer. The Willow Town that he knew becomes this prosperous and beautiful city? How? Is the supreme excellency joking to him again?
“Look it’s probably hard to believe but that’s the truth, I hope I can explain to you how we did it but it’s highly confidential and might affect our national security if we were to explain it to you,” Michael said.
“Is that so?” For now, Sirius pretended that he acknowledged everything, he can’t still believe that this town he left three months ago suddenly turned into a prosperous city. Just how?
Michael nodded, it’s the only way for him to answer anyway.
“Then if that’s how it is then it will be a trouble in the future.” Sirius said in a concerned tone, “That’s because a lot of trades will happen soon the moment this winter ends, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Euphoria is scheduled to visit the town, the ambassador of the Maltrom City is also scheduled as well. Trades from another country go to Redwater river which is one of the main sources of income of the town. If they were to see a drastic change in Willow Town it would be a huge problem for your existence, after all, there’s no country in this world that recognizes your independence. That will lead to a lot of misunderstanding, especially that you’ve retaken the city of Willow Town which is part of the Euphoria Kingdom.”
But despite saying all of it, Michael didn’t show the slightest hint of concern at all.
“Indeed it was really dangerous but we had no choice, we had already taken this place as one of our cities and we’ve already considered what you’ve mentioned. That’s why we offered you the job of becoming a secretary to the minister of foreign affairs. We need to set diplomatic ties with them as soon as possible.” Raphael fluidly said.
“I know from my experience that if a country placed their army in a territory of another country, it is a provocation of war. We don’t want that” Ernest said, “That’s why you're of huge importance to us. I admire your insights about the future conflicts of the country. This makes me sure that you’re suited for the job.” Michael praised.
“Now that you know, I’ll ask you one last time. Do you accept this job?” Michael asked once more.
“Yes sir!” Sirius answered without hesitation.
“Good, in seven days, you will set off towards the capital of the Euphoria Kingdom and conduct diplomatic talks there. This will be the official first contact of our nation to another nation.”
However, there seems to be a problem.
“But the royal capital is too far away from here. Are we going with the helicopter again?”
Ernest wanted to laugh but he contained it, “No, you’ll sail”.
“Sail?”
“Yes!” Michael exclaimed, “With our First Carrier Strike Group!” He said with a wide grin on his face.
