Chapter 4

I woke to find my sweet mate withering in pain, thrashing back and forth before her whole body turned red steam rising off of her as the fire consumed her body, making it match mine. I gathered her into my arms, holding her whispering sweet words into her ear.

"It’s oaky Angel. It will all be oaky." I said placing a kiss to her cheek. I held her for hours feeling her heat go from hot to cold straight back to hot. I rocked her until it was finally over, completing her transformation. I placed her back into bed covering her, I moved to the washroom preparing her a bath with her favorite milk bubble bath and some lavender oil to soothe her. From what I understand the transition is very rough and she will be sore.

"Alastair??" I heard her say. Her words were coated in fear. I walked quickly out of the washroom, she was sitting on the bed sheet pulled up to her chin, tears running down her face and her body shaking.

"My love, it's okay." I said as I approached her. She looked at me dropping the sheet and jumping into my arms, I welcomed her wrapping mine around her. I picked her legs up carrying her into the washroom. I sat on the edge of the bath tub and started the water. I never let go, I never put her down. She was still shaking, skill crying and clinging to me. Once it was finished filling I added the oil and milk bath, I stepped in still holding her in my arms, I lowered us down until the water covered us. I took the lavender and vanilla body wash into my hand and started slowly washing her. She laid her head down on my shoulder letting her grip go and her arms falling into her lap.

"Do you feel any better my love?" I asked her.

"Yes, thank you my handsome mate. " she said with a smile stretching across her face. "I feel different, Warmer. Like there is something trying to escape my body."

"You went through your change my sweet Esme. Your like me now." I said brushing my fingers across her collarbone.

"Will I feel that pain again?" her voice cracking as she asked.

"Shhh, no never again." I said kissing her forehead. "Your safe." She sank deeper into my grip. "I love you"

"I love you" she said with a sigh.

We sat in the bath for hours before she looked at me with a small smile.

"I am hungry my love, can we go get something to eat." she asked.

"Absolutely!" I said with a smile.

I watched her get up, stepping out of the bath. Wrapping a towel around her body and moving into the room towards our  closet. The way she moved was like a dance. I was a very lucky man.

"f**k!" I heard her yell.

I jumped out of the tub almost falling as my wet feet hit the tile flooring. I made it out of the washroom rounding the corner to find the closet was on fire and my mate panicking making the flames grow higher. I ran to her side grabbing her hands pulling her back to my chest.

"Breath, relax your nerves Esme." I said as she took a deep breath. "Hold your hand out call them back to you."

She held her hand out closing her eyes and calling to them with her mind, they moved from the closet as they danced over her fingers into her palm as they sank back into her. She opened one eye peaking to see if the fire was gone.

"You did well my love." I said with a smile squeezing tightly.

"Thank you honey! I am so sorry…" she said looking at the closet. "All of our clothing is gone…"

"Mmm, I guess we better go shopping than." I said giving her a quick kiss the cheek.

I turned to see her hound stocking over to her, laying down waiting for her to give him attention. He was a lonely boy.

"Shall we get Shuck a friend." I asked

She whirled around with a big smile. "Yes!!! Shuck you hear that?? Your going to get a new friend!" she said as she patted his head.

We got dressed in jeans and t shirts since that was all we hand left. She looked amazing though absolutely stunning.

"Shall we darling?" I asked holding my hand out, she took it instantly. We started walking down the hallway as I heard her pat her leg and with heavy steps following. She loved that hound and I loved him for protecting her. We walked out of the keep down the stairs, I turned looking at her with a smile, My wings opening and wrapping around up with smoke whirling around us. Than we were standing in the middle of Time Square New York.

"Where would you like to go first?" I asked her, her eyes were wide looking at everything around her.

"I don’t know.. I normally go shopping at Walmart or online. Where should we go?" She said. 

I looked around seeing an REI knowing how much she loves her yoga pants. We will start there, I grabbed her hand and led her from store to store, until we hand some many bags it was hard holding on to them.

"Are you ready to go home?" I asked her with a smile.

"Yes I am. I could use a nap." she said with a laugh. I wrapped my wings around us and we were home. I have the servants take our bags to the newly replaced closet. I helped her to our room, laying her down and covering her up. I left her sleep in peace while I sat off to find her another Hellhound. 

I looked over all our new hound pups but none of them really jumped out to me. I decided that I needed to bring Esme here and let her pick instead of me doing it. 

"We will be back soon, please have all the hounds out for Esme to view Brandon." I said the kennel master. 

"Yes my King." he said as he hurried off to get them all gathered. 

I made my way back to the keeps entrance. I wonder if my love is awake or if I get to wake her up. I made my way up the stairs, walking down the hall when I heard music and someone singing from our bedroom. I opened the door slowly, peaking my head around the door to see that the sound was coming from the washroom, the shower was running and the most musical sound was coming from it. I shut our door and locking. Walking into the washroom to find my mate using the shampoo bottle as a microphone as she sang as she wiggled her little booty. It was adorable. I leaned back against the countertop so I was able to just watch her.

We're going to…" She sang long with the music washing away any thoughts I may have had coming in here. My heart was being gripped by the pain and love lacing her voice, singing a melody without any fear or concern, relaxed in her own world. This is going to be my favorite memory. One I will share with my children. Once i hope repeats itself for the rest of eternity. She turned around jumping and dropping the bottle to the ground. "How long have you been there Alastair?" she said with surprise.

"Long enough, What were you singing?" I asked her with a smile grabbing the towel for her to step into."It's called 'Bonfire' from Blue Foundation. They are one of my favorites." she said smiling, stepping out into my arms. I wrap her in the towel placing a kiss to her lips. "Come get dressed I need your help love." I said before exiting the washroom with her in hand.
