Chapter 10

"Why would you run away from me Esme." I growled taking steps towards her. I could see she knew what was coming. She made no moves in fighting me. "Answer me now."

"I did it for you and our people Alastair. I told you I was coming back to you." she said with a shaky voice.

"I don’t give a f**k what you said, that was dangerous and I could have lost you, our son could have lost his mother when he needs her the most." I growled standing up against her now.

"I know, I am sorry.." she whispered looking down. "Please don’t hate me."

"I don’t and could never hate you, but I am going to remind you where and who you belong to." I said before pressing my lips to hers in a deep aggressive kiss. She let out a little moan before wrapping her arms around my neck running her fingers through me hair. My hands traveled down her back side gripping her thighs and pulling them up wrapping her legs around me before pinning her to a wall. I ripped her shirt open and her bra off, trailing kisses down her neck to her breast before sucking it into my mouth giving her n****e a little nip before thrashing it with my tongue. I could feel her fingers wrapping themselves into my hair, her breathing getting heavier and a moan escaping her lips. I sat her feet down taking her pants and under ware off discarding them, I placed her legs over my shoulders as I attacked the sweet bud between her legs, taking her into my mouth sucking softly at first that moving my tongue in a figure eight as I slid two fingers inside her damp entrance, I pushed in and out of her thrashing her bud with my tongue, punishing her for leaving me like she did until her climax pounded into her making her scream my name pulling my hair as her body wrapped around me. I picked her up swiftly walking over to the desk, I cleared it with one movement setting her down on her feet so I was able to remove my clothing. I made her bend over on top the desk, I spread her legs apart thrusting myself deep inside her. I heard has gasp as she took me in shaking and letting a little moan escape. I thrust into her hard fast at a punishing pace until we both released our climaxes together. I pulled out of her picking her up and placing her on the bed. I climbed over her placing myself between her legs thrusting into her again. I placed a soft kiss to her lips as I moved slowly back and forth, in and out. This time I was making love to her. Showing her how much I need her, how broken I would be if I lost the only women I ever loved. We spent the rest of the evening in each others embrace, making love until we feel into a deep sleep.

"I love you." I said before drifting off into the darkness.

I woke up to find my mate still curled into my side, I drew little circles over her hip bone making little bumps spread across her skin. She placed a kiss to my chest before kissing my lips.

"I am hungry." she whispered.

"Me to love." I said before we got up, showered and dressed.

We made our way down the hall into the dining area, she spotted Dagon rushing to him scooping him into her arms. She placed soft kisses all over his face as he let out a little giggle. She pulled back smiling at him than looking at me. That was my whole world balled into two perfect beings. If her plan didn’t work I would have to deal with it myself so my family remained safe.

"Alastair would you like some crepe's?" I heard poppy ask me. "We have fresh berries, cream cheese spread and fresh whipped cream."

"Yes thank you Poppy it looks delicious." I said taking a plate from her and sitting down, Esme soon sat next to me with her own plate. We sat and ate peacefully surrounded by our friends. Our family. Until we heard someone scream and than glass breaking. Esme stood quickly handing me Dagon and running up the stairs. We all stood and ran after her, we found her in the hallway holding Lillian by her throat in the air as she had Jackson pinned to the wall by his. Her breathing was unsteady and I could tell she was fighting with her Demon for control.

"I do not appreciate you coming into my families home destroying it. If you have the urge to throw each other around take it outside." she said, than Lillian kicked her in the side trying to connect with Jackson but missing. "DO NOT f**k WITH ME DOGS!" my mate shouted, her flame growing consuming her, it was her demon she started changing in front of all of us. I handed Dagon to Arabella, Victor wrapping his arms around them both moving them into the back of the crowd. I moved towards my mate touching her shoulder.

"Alastair please do not touch me. I need to teach these two mutts some lessons in HOW THEY SHOULD BE TREATING EACH OTHER!" she boomed making everyone myself included take a step back, her demon was strong I have never seen one as strong before. It was beautiful.

" I am going to let you both go, but if either of you start again I will knock you into next week, am I understood?" she said with a stern tone looking at one than the other. She let them go, standing up straight she took a deep breathing willing herself to calm down. Soon she was standing in front of them in her human form. "No, follow me to the study."

She turned on her heel walking towards the study, everyone who was standing the hall watching stepped to the side giving her a path. I let the wolves go first than I followed giving Victor a look telling him to protect Dagon. To my surprise everyone followed us into the study, they all took their seats watching silently. I went to Rowan's side.

"Why are you all here?" I asked in a whisper.

"You didn’t hear her? She mind linked with all of us telling us to follow her into the study." Rowan replied with amazement dancing across his face.

"We will talk to her once the wolves are gone." I said as he nodded in agreement,

The last time a made Demon Queen was able to mind link with all her subjects no matter the species was with Queen Ayla who lived almost 20,000 years ago. She helped her husband achieve peace and avoid war. But she also was the one to lead her people to war when the giant king killed her mate. She was an incredible women.

"Now, you Jackson and you Lillian are mates. Weather you like it or not you are destine to be one by the moon goddess, do not dishonor her by rejecting each other or worse killing each other. I understand why you are angry Lillian but Jackson did not harm your family his father did and he is dead. Jackson I know the bond is pulling you to her but you are letting it guide you to much.  I want you both to take the next 4 days getting to know each other. You will share a room, if you chose to sleep in the same bed fine BUT you will not leave that f*****g room until you figure your s**t out. I am tired of hearing the two of you fight and scream like children fighting over a toy! Do we have  an understanding?" She looked right at Lillian. "I already know Jackson is willing to do anything to win you Lillian, you my dear are our wild card that I will not heist to destroy if it means ill be protecting everyone else in the room your mate included."

"Yes my Queen I understand." they said leaving the study making their way to Jackson's room. I looked to see Esme was vibrating as she tried to calm herself. Her fire was radiating from her body, I moved over to her looking in to her eyes only seeing the flames.

"I need to go out side now. Please Arabella keep Dagon inside." she said sprinting out to the platform, she was breathing hard fighting to stay in control but failing. We heard a loud scream as the Phoenix came flying down to my mates side. She wrapped her wings around Esme tucking her head in and making a wall, we could see bright white light coming from the cracks and my mate painful scream. After a moment the Phoenix opened her wings bowing down at the women standing in front of us all. Esme had transformed into something different, her hair was now a shining silver her eyes were blue flames and she skin was so white it looked like fresh snow.

"Esme?" I said quietly as I approached her.

"She looked at me smiling. "My sweet Alastair, your mother and father say hello, they are so proud of you."

"What?" I said stopping dead in my tracks. "You saw them?"

"Yes my love, they are hear with me, with all of us." She said softly.

"She's the ascended Alastair." Evan said from behind me. I turned to see everyone kneeling to her.

She walked over wrapping her arms around me placing a kiss to me lips.

"I love you Alastair." she smiled. "I don’t understand what happened, but all the ancestors are telling me I was chosen to lead all of the supernatural species into the Era of peace."

"I love you angel. We will figure it out I promise." I replied.

"Please my Queen follow me. I know where there is an ancient book who will explain your transformation further." Evan said holding his hand out. She took his hand, he led us deep inside the tree into a room that has been locked away for generations.

"I built me castle here to better protect this." Evan said opening it, the paintings told the story of a Human mate becoming the ascended queen, she would have mind links to everyone in her kingdom weather they be dead or living. It happens in a time of great stress and when her people are in need the very most. There has only been one other ascended queen. Ayla.

I looked at Esme as she read through each page, she looked at me with tears in her eyes. I looked at the place her finger laid reading the entry and feeling my heart crumble.

'Once the ascended Queen has finished her duty she will be called home, she will have finished her task and leave the mortal world behind.'

"I cant lose you Esme." I said falling to my knees.

"I will never leave you Alastair, No matter what I will never leave you." she wrapping her arms around me.

"We needed to make preparations for a gathering between all the clans and I need the two wolfs to complete their bond." she said looking at Rowan.

"I will take care of it my Queen." he said before leaving.

"Evan dear, I need you to do me a favor, I need you to read through this, if there is anything I can do so I don’t leave my mate son please find it." she said with a smile.

"Of course my Queen." Evan said before diving back into the old book.

"Come my love, I want to show you something." she said holding her hand out to me.

She lead me outside, taking Dagon from Arabella's arms and walking towards the Phoenix. She trailed her hand down its head landing on its heart she closed her eyes taking a deep breath.

"This is Sage, she now shares apart of my soul, which means she shares a part of your soul," she said looking at me. "Come, I want to show you both what is above the clouds."

We got onto Sage, she stretched her wings before taking flight. When we broke through the clouds it was like a dream. The moon was bright and full and the stars danced across the sky. I leaned in wrapping my arms around her, nuzzling in to her hair. 

"Please stay with me until my flame leaves me body." I said with tears falling down my face.

"Our flames will leave together, bringing us to the stars where we will live watching over our children and people for all of eternity." she replied placing a kiss to my lips.

We both looked down to see Dagon fast asleep with a strand of his mothers hair wrapped around his fist. I need to do everything I can to make sure my son doesn’t lose his mother to soon.

I will beat Fate.
