*~* Prologue *~*
There, in the moonlight, a black wolf stood on the edge of the cliff. His eyes were misted with sadness as he gazed longingly at the night sky.
It’s been one thousand and five hundred years, the black wolf thought to himself. I’m just letting the days go by…
Behind him… was the alpha. His best friend. The alpha sat further away from the black wolf, quietly. His silence was enough to tell the black wolf that if he needed his best friend, his best friend will be there for him.
I’m never going to love again, the black wolf thought to himself, feeling his chest hurt with every memory of that bloody night. Never.
Flashes of blood hits him over and over again.
The excruciating pain that gripped his heart when he knew something was very wrong with his mate.
The sound of his mate’s cries and pleads haunts him every night.
Worst of all… her final thoughts that still lingers in his mind.
You said I’m a wolf after all… that to be afraid is a sign of cowardice.
That I am not worthy to be your mate if I’m afraid of everything.
I’m dying… but I’m not afraid of it.
Words that made him realise that the one who wasn’t worth it… wasn’t her… but him.
