CHAPTER ONE
Pastor Reward was a man many people believed God had chosen for extraordinary work.
Every week, hundreds gathered at Grace Restoration Church to witness what many called undeniable miracles. The sick claimed healing after his prayers. Broken families testified of restoration. Those who had lost hope said their lives changed after encountering his ministry.
To the outside world, Pastor Reward’s life looked blessed and complete.
But behind the powerful altar ministry was a quiet struggle inside his home.
He and his wife, Mrs. Velimsky, had been married for twelve years without a child.
It was a silent burden Mrs. Velimsky carried in her heart. While other women celebrated pregnancy and motherhood, she often spent long nights in prayer, asking God the same question that had remained unanswered for years.
Why was her womb still empty?
Pastor Reward remained hopeful. He believed strongly that their miracle would eventually come. Yet even his faith could not
One evening, after a church service, Pastor Reward informed his wife that a visitor would be staying with them for a few days. A man traveling through town had been recommended by one of the church elders, and as a pastor known for hospitality, he did not hesitate to open his home. To Mrs. Velimsky, it sounded like an ordinary name, and she paid little attention to it. A few days later, Mr. George arrived.
When Mrs. Velimsky opened the door and saw him standing there, time seemed to pause for a brief moment. Both recognized each other instantly. Though the years had changed many things, the familiarity between them remained.
Pastor Reward welcomed him warmly into their home, unaware of the history that connected the two.To him, it was simply an act of kindness — helping a guest who needed a place to stay.
But for Mrs. Velimsky, the situation created an uncomfortable tension she struggled to ignore.
Deep inside, she felt an uneasy feeling she could not fully explain. It was as if something had quietly entered their home along with the visitor, something that threatened the peace they had built over the years. What Mrs. Velimsky did not realize was that the days ahead would place her in a situation she had never imagined.
That night, sleep did not come easily to Mrs. Velimsky.
She lay beside her husband, Pastor Reward, staring at the ceiling while her thoughts refused to rest. Every time she closed her eyes, the same face appeared in her mind.
Mr. George.
Beside her, Pastor Reward slept peacefully, breathing slowly after a long day of ministry. Earlier that evening he had been surrounded by church members, praying for the sick and encouraging the weak.
As always, people had left the church praising God for the miracles happening through his hands.
But now, in the quiet darkness of their bedroom, Mrs. Velimsky felt something very different. Fear. What was the fear all about? The sudden Presence of her Ex.
