By the time that my mum had finally managed to get around to finishing with dinner, my stomach had already begun to growl. I couldn’t believe that my mum had taken as long as she had, but even so, I should have known that she was doing her best to keep me here with them, and to keep me from being able to go to bed. It was irritating me, but I couldn’t deny the fact that if it had been me in her shoes, I would have ended up doing the exact same thing.
