“Someone’s knocking on the door,” I yell from the bathroom.
“I’ll go see who it is,” Ryker grumbles.
“It’s probably the pizza.”
No one felt like cooking tonight, and after this morning, I want to eat and sleep. I throw my clothes on, reaching for the doorknob, and the door swings open. I stare blankly as Ryker looks at me like a deer caught in headlights.
“You good?” I ask.
“Did that hit you?” he laughs.
“No,” I reply, narrowing my eyes.
“Pizza’s here.”
Ryker and I head into the dining room, pull up a chair, and join the rest of our pack. I ordered seven extra large pizzas, a ton of wings, and breadsticks for everyone. Chatter occupies the dining room, everyone making small talk and eating. I hear the front door unlock, and I wipe my
