The Sixth Dream The judge, again, felt the symptoms that he usually felt before he was going to dream about a trial at night. He would recant all the details to his wife so as not to lose them as the memory fades, so he could eventually write them down. The judge could not know what purpose it would serve, for he was a poor, rural judge who had no relevance whatsoever in the social world of today. It could have been because he himself had wanted it that way, or out of obedience, or because the others, in the presence of brilliant men, felt lessened and, because of that, did not want to have any dealings with them; he did not know. The same thing happened this time. Although, in the previous days, he also felt the same feeling, as if there was something that he had to do that night. And
