“Hello, Marian?” KC was sitting on her bed, looking down on her floor. Her eyes were red from lack of sleep and from crying on and off all night. She hasn’t slept a wink.
She heard Marian sigh on the other end. “So, you finally remembered me, huh?” She asked coldly.
“I’m sorry, I’ve been meaning to call you. I just had a lot on my mind.” She told her friend.
“Uh-huh.” Her friend replied in a disbelieving tone.
“There’s just a lot going on,” KC said, biting her lower lip as tears started once more.
After she left Steven last night, she hasn’t been able to think about anything else. She even forgot to be thrifty and just took a cab home. Still reeling that he knew what James was doing but did not do anything about it at all. How can she trust him after that?
