Chapter 1: The Prophecy Fulfilled
Joy swept across the Sapphire Kingdom like a radiant tide.
From the grand crystal palace to the humblest cottages nestled beneath the shimmering sapphire mountains, every Sapphirian celebrated with songs, laughter, and prayers of gratitude. Their beloved queen, Queen Czia, was finally expecting a child.
For years, the kingdom had waited for this miracle.
According to the Ancient Prophecy, the queen’s daughter would one day become the Chosen Savior—the only one destined to end the reign of darkness brought by the Black Sapphirians.
Hope, long buried beneath years of fear and bloodshed, had finally begun to bloom once more.
No one knew, however, that destiny often demanded a painful price.
Nine Months Later
Czia’s POV
The first rays of dawn filtered through the crystal windows of my chamber, painting the room in shades of sapphire and gold.
Today was the day.
My child…
No… our child would finally enter the world.
Outside, I could hear the distant footsteps of soldiers patrolling the palace grounds. My husband, King Criver, had doubled the kingdom’s defenses before sunrise.
The prophecy had not gone unnoticed.
If the Black Sapphirians had learned of my pregnancy, they would surely strike before the child could fulfill her destiny.
I gently rested both hands upon my swollen belly.
“My little one…” I whispered with a smile. “Your father and I have waited so long to meet you.”
Suddenly—
A sharp pain ripped through my abdomen.
“A-Ahh!”
My breath caught in my throat.
Another contraction followed, stronger than the first.
“Criver!” I cried, clutching the silk sheets beneath me. “Criver… I’m in labor!”
The chamber doors burst open almost instantly.
“My queen!”
Within moments, my husband was at my side, his calm royal composure replaced by panic as he knelt beside the bed.
He gently held my trembling hand.
“It’s all right,” he whispered, though fear lingered in his eyes. “I’m here.”
Another wave of pain crashed over me.
I cried out, unable to contain my agony.
King Criver immediately turned toward the guards waiting outside.
“Guards!” he thundered.
The soldiers dropped to one knee.
“Summon the kingdom’s finest midwife and every royal healer at once!”
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
Without hesitation, they raced through the palace halls.
I squeezed Criver’s hand with all the strength I had left.
“It hurts…”
His expression softened as he brushed a strand of hair away from my face.
“I know, my love.”
He kissed my forehead gently.
“You are the strongest woman I have ever known.”
Then, lowering his voice so only I could hear, he whispered,
“And no matter what happens… you will not face this alone.”
His words became my anchor as another painful contraction stole my breath away.
Third-Person POV
The royal chamber echoed with Queen Czia’s cries as another contraction tore through her body.
Outside the chamber doors, every servant, healer, and royal guard stood in tense silence. No one dared utter a single word.
Even the palace itself seemed to hold its breath.
King Criver paced relentlessly across the marble corridor, his fists clenched at his sides. Though he had led countless battles without fear, nothing had prepared him for the helplessness of waiting while the woman he loved fought the greatest battle of her life.
From inside the chamber came another agonizing scream.
“Ahhh!”
Criver stopped in his tracks, his heart tightening painfully.
“Please…” he whispered beneath his breath. “Let them both be safe.”
Inside the room, the kingdom’s finest midwives surrounded the queen.
“Your Majesty,” the chief midwife said gently, wiping the sweat from Czia’s brow. “You’re doing wonderfully. Just one more push.”
Czia’s trembling fingers tightened around the silk sheets.
“I… I can’t…”
“You can,” one of the royal healers encouraged. “Your children are almost here.”
Gathering every ounce of strength she had left, the queen cried out as she pushed once more.
Moments later—
A newborn’s cry pierced the silence.
“Waaah! Waaah!”
The room instantly filled with relieved smiles.
“The first child has been born!” one of the midwives exclaimed.
The chief midwife carefully lifted the infant into the light before smiling brightly.
“It’s a prince, Your Majesty.”
Before Czia could even catch her breath, another sharp contraction seized her.
She gasped in pain.
“The second child is coming!” the chief midwife announced. “Your Majesty, you must keep pushing. The babies are twins!”
Twins…
The word echoed through the chamber.
With tears streaming down her face, Czia nodded weakly.
“For them…”
She gathered every remaining bit of strength.
One final cry escaped her lips.
Then…
Another tiny voice filled the chamber.
“Waaah… Waaah…”
Silence followed.
The midwife gently wrapped the second infant in a sapphire-blue blanket.
As she looked into the baby’s brilliant sapphire eyes, her own widened in disbelief.
She slowly fell to one knee.
“The prophecy…” she whispered.
Every healer froze.
“The Chosen Savior…”
Tears filled the old woman’s eyes as she gazed at the newborn princess.
“Your Majesty… it’s the princess.”
“The child of the prophecy has finally been born.”
For a brief moment, no one spoke.
Many of the healers bowed their heads in reverence.
Others silently wept.
The long-awaited Savior of the Sapphire Kingdom had finally entered the world.
Exhausted but smiling through her tears, Queen Czia reached out with trembling arms.
“My… children…”
The royal healers carefully cleansed the newborn twins before wrapping them in soft embroidered blankets woven from enchanted sapphire silk.
After tending to the queen’s wounds and restoring her strength with healing magic, they gently placed both babies into her waiting arms.
The prince slept peacefully against her shoulder.
Beside him, the little princess opened her sparkling sapphire eyes for the very first time.
Mother and daughter stared at one another.
In that single heartbeat…
It felt as though destiny itself had awakened.
Criver’s POV
The palace corridor had never felt so endless.
Every passing second weighed heavily upon my heart as I stood outside the royal chamber, waiting… praying.
I had faced countless enemies on the battlefield without fear. I had stood before armies, monsters, and kings alike with unwavering resolve.
Yet none of those battles terrified me as much as this moment.
Behind those doors, my beloved wife was risking her life to bring our children into the world.
Then…
The chamber doors slowly opened.
One of the royal midwives stepped outside, her weary face illuminated by a joyful smile.
“Your Majesty,” she said, bowing respectfully, “you may come in now.”
For a moment, I couldn’t move.
Then my feet carried me forward almost instinctively.
As I entered the chamber, the scent of healing herbs lingered in the air. Sunlight streamed through the crystal windows, bathing the room in a warm, golden glow.
There she was.
Queen Czia.
Though exhaustion was written across her beautiful face, her sapphire eyes sparkled with happiness unlike anything I had ever seen.
In her arms rested two tiny bundles wrapped in royal sapphire silk.
I walked toward her, my heartbeat growing louder with every step.
“How are you feeling, my love?” I asked softly as I knelt beside the bed.
A gentle smile curved upon her lips.
“I’m much better now,” she replied. “Seeing them makes every pain worthwhile.”
Before I could answer, the royal healer stepped forward and bowed.
“Your Majesty… allow me to present the future of the Sapphire Kingdom.”
She carefully uncovered the blankets.
“A prince…”
“…and a princess.”
Twins.
For several heartbeats, I simply stared.
The little prince slept peacefully, his tiny fingers curled into a fist.
The princess, however, slowly opened her brilliant sapphire eyes.
The moment our gazes met…
She wrapped her tiny hand around my finger.
My breath caught.
A warmth unlike anything I had ever known spread through my heart.
“They’re…” I whispered.
“…perfect.”
Tears welled in Czia’s eyes as she watched us.
“They’re so beautiful, aren’t they?”
I smiled.
“They inherited their mother’s beauty.”
She laughed softly despite her exhaustion.
“And they’ll inherit their father’s stubbornness.”
The room filled with gentle laughter.
For the first time in what felt like forever…
There was peace.
After allowing us a quiet moment together, the chief midwife cleared her throat.
“Your Majesties,” she said respectfully, “have you chosen names for the royal twins?”
I looked toward my wife.
She nodded, silently giving me the honor of naming our son first.
I smiled proudly at the sleeping boy.
“He shall be known as…”
Czaqary Daniel Allein Diamond.
The royal scribes immediately recorded the name within the Book of Royal Bloodlines.
Then Czia lovingly kissed our daughter upon the forehead.
“And our precious princess…”
“Her name shall be…”
Princess Czaquia Dannaya Allenna Diamond.
The healers exchanged warm smiles.
“Beautiful names,” one of them said.
“They are truly worthy of the future rulers of the Sapphire Kingdom.”
After offering their congratulations, the healers and midwives quietly excused themselves, leaving our little family alone.
Silence settled over the chamber.
Not an uncomfortable silence…
But one filled with warmth.
I couldn’t take my eyes off our children.
Our son slept soundly in his mother’s arms.
Our daughter rested peacefully beside him, her tiny fingers curled around the edge of her blanket.
Yet…
Something felt different.
When I turned toward Czia, I noticed the smile on her face had faded.
“My love…” I said gently.
“You’re quiet.”
She hesitated before speaking.
“I’m afraid.”
My brows furrowed.
“Afraid of what?”
Her gaze drifted toward the palace window, where the evening sky had begun to darken.
“Your stepsister…”
“The Black Sapphire Queen.”
“The prophecy says our daughter will become their greatest enemy.”
Her voice trembled.
“What if they already know she’s been born?”
A heavy silence followed.
I reached for her hand and held it firmly.
“They won’t touch either of our children. My royal guards stand ready throughout the palace. The kingdom’s strongest warriors are protecting every entrance. No one will get near this room.”
I gently brushed a kiss across her forehead.
“So don’t let fear steal this precious day from us.”
She leaned against my shoulder and smiled faintly.
“I hope you’re right.”
Outside, the wind howled against the palace towers.
Neither of us noticed the lone shadow standing atop the highest spire…
Watching.
Waiting.
Smiling.
