The Morning After

POV Zander

A cold shower, yep that is exactly what I need right now, I said to myself as I looked into the mirror. I stripped down and flipped the shower on as I stepped in, the water was freezing but I hoped it would take my mind off my gorgeous mate sprawled out in our bed right now. Mmmm just the thought of Alex's perfect ass and how her shirt had ridden up just above her rib cage made me hard. I needed to make this woman mine and soon. I stood under the shower head trying to wash out my needs, as Alpha I had new worries to consider with the discovery of Alex's powers and who her parent's were, luckily my father was meeting with me today to go to council and discuss what precautions we need to take. I'll be damned if I let something happen to Alex now that I've found her. 

My wolf started a low rumble in my chest just then Alex opened the door to the bathroom. "I really need you to not be in here right now baby" I tried to convince her. "I'm burning up and since you won't lay next to me this is the next best thing to stop feeling miserable" she barked. Goddess help me not take this woman against the shower wall. I faced forward refusing to turn around as Alex entered the shower, my wolf rumbled trying to take over and claim his mate and a growl slipped through my lips. "Can you pass me the soap?" Alex said as she reached past me grazing her n****e across my back. "f**k Alex couldn't you just wait for me to get out?" I snapped. I turned to get out and was caught by her sparkling green eyes, god she looked fantastic, beads of water had settled on each lump of her breasts, a trail was gently running between them down to her navel, my eyes traveled back up her lush skin.  Alex frowned up at me, "I'm the one boiling and you're in here hogging the shower, I'll just go find another". She stormed out swiping my towel from the rail and slammed into the bedroom. "s**t" I groaned, quickly flipping the shower off and grabbing a spare towel from the cabinet and slinging it around my waist. I shouldn't have snapped at her but damn it was hard enough to keep myself from jumping her, her walking in naked was like a death trap. Where the hell is she? I thought scanning the bedroom. "f**k me" did she actually go wandering the Pack House in a damn towel. I slid on a pair of joggers and quickly exited our room, I caught her scent coming down the hall, f**k f**k f**k, I burst into the door at the end of the hall. A loud growl echoed through the halls, Kyle stood with Alex's hands pinned above her head, with his face nuzzled into her neck and body pressed against hers, because of the position her towel had dropped around her feet, her eyes snapped to mine as soon as I had entered the room. I grabbed Kyle by the shoulder and flung him across the room, standing in front of Alex braced for his return. He stood up shaking off the landing and his eyes were jet black, I did not want to lose control of my wolf again in front of Alex. 

Alex had no clue when she went hunting for another shower that I'd had him stay here, he had been pretty bloodied up and feeling guilty I wanted to be able to quickly address things with him this morning. Not one time had I thought Alex would keep me in the room with her all night and things go down like they had. Or had she smelled him in the house and gone looking for him? She was a wolf now her senses should be much stronger. A felt my muscles tense at the thought, Kyle lunged for me, he might be strong but I had inches on him in height and reach, not to mention my Alpha strength made this an impossible fight for him to win. I caught him mid air and forced him to the ground pinning him there. "Kyle" I growled "get your s**t together" sneering through my teeth I felt my wolf fighting to rip through. Kyle's eyes flashed blue to black, and he growled fighting underneath my weight. Punching him square in the jaw, I hoped would knock him back to his senses. When he looked back his breathing was staggered but his eyes had returned to normal. "I'm going to let go but if you fight me again I swear I'll kill you" I growled. I stood back up and quickly looked back to where Alex once stood seeing her missing, she quickly appeared hearing the commotion end from the bathroom door. "I didn't realize" she softly muttered. "Go change, I'll be right there" I quietly replied. Kyle was in a pant as Alex walked out of the door, I shoved his shoulder. "Get your eyes off her" I growled. Kyle looked back at me and you could see the tension release from his body. "Man I, she just barged in, and I... I didn't mean to" stuttering he looked at the floor. "Its my fault, she was pissed at me and went looking for a shower, why she chose this one I don't know" I said calming myself. "I think you need to leave until her heat is over clearly you can't control yourself when she's close" I stated. Kyle straightened himself up, "I say this with respect, but I got her into this mess with you and I'm not leaving unless she wants me to, I can keep it together, but I just got bombarded with a dripping wet Alex in heat bursting through my door, I wasn't prepared." A low growl came through my lips, I understood what he was saying but I sure didn't like it. I'm not sure how I would have reacted in his place. "If you so much as touch her again I'll kill you" I growled, and turned walking out back to my room. 

Alex was sitting on the foot of the bed with her head in her hands, she'd changed into a fitted white tank top and jeans, the tops of her breasts peaked out the top making a shiver run down my spine. I shut our door and sat beside her on the bed, she instantly leaned into me and I wrapped my arms around her. "You make me feel so much better" she said with an airy breath. "It's because I'm your mate, any contact with me will ease some of your pain" I said running my fingers through her hair. "I was just trying to get further away from you, the other doors were locked" she said muffled into my chest. I chuckled, "well I didn't think you'd go running through the halls naked or I would have warned you." She looked up at me, her eyes were bloodshot like she'd been crying before I came in. "Baby its not your fault I shouldn't have snapped at you, I was trying to control my own urges and didn't think about how you might feel" I said softly kissing the top of her head. Alex wrapped her arms around me tightly and sighed, "Zander I'm scared" she said. "I'll never let anything happen to you" she cut me off before I could finish. "No" she said looking at me, "I'm scared because I've never been close to anyone, and I just met you, even though I feel safe and at home with you, I'm afraid its all a trick, there was a whole piece of me hidden away and what if this isn't real?" I searched her eyes, they were watery and afraid, I couldn't imagine how she was feeling, I know this is a mate bond and not some magic but to her this could be anything, she didn't grow up with our customs. I took a deep breath, "Baby, that's why I'm trying so hard not to force myself on you, I want you to make this decision yourself, I know its real babe you are my person, my mate, and that's not going away." I pulled her in closer to me, "If I had my way I would have marked you last night in that field" I smirked. Alex pulled back and c****d her eyebrow at me, "It seemed like you were more focused on someone else, your dad is who rescued me." My smile fell from my face, "we weren't alone" I grumbled. "Isn't the point of being Alpha that no one challenges you?" Alex questioned. "HA! I wish it were that simple, that would make my life a breeze, anyone can challenge me I just happen to be much stronger having Alpha blood and much more attractive" I grinned. "Uh huh" Alex said rolling her eyes. Her face quickly changed to concern, " I want to ask you something without you being angry." I sat back slightly so I could see her face better, "Ask me anything." "Am I never going to be able to be around Kyle again without him lusting after me?" she asked. I sighed, "Until you make a decision about being with me and we bond, he's going to have strong urges towards you, last night and this morning caught him off guard so I do think he will be able to control himself more like I do, but I'm also concerned that his wolf's drive is stronger since you two have already been together." I hated the thought of his hands on her and my wolf grumbled at the thought. Most wolves avoided relationships all together before finding their mate, if they didn't they typically stayed away from other wolves for this reason. Alex had looked away and was turning back to face me, "He wasn't ever a boyfriend, we were never attached to each other like that" she explained slowly choosing her words, "the night in the dessert-" "You don't have to explain" I interrupted. Honestly it was the last thing I wanted to hear about right now. "No I do, I want you to understand" Alex pleaded. I nodded my head. "The night in the Bad Lands would have never happened normally, he had came along on a job with me, when the hire met me apparently they thought they could take advantage of the situation, 10-1, I was thankful Kyle had forced his hand on staying nearby, I don't know if he heard the situation or what but when two of the goons had me pinned against a desk, Kyle burst through the window guns blazing, they were so shocked they let go allowing me to break ones arm and snap his neck, Kyle had already taken out two or three the moment he jumped through the window, all but one we left in a bloody pile the other must have taken off the moment s**t hit the fan. Anyway when we got back to camp, adrenaline was pumping, I'd never gotten myself stuck where I needed rescuing before and I kissed him, and well you know. After we went home things just went back to normal, and since our business partnership hadn't changed after I thought what the hell, and just didn't completely cut things off." I stared at Alex intently, there were plenty of times I'd gone out after a bad day to go find some piece of ass to take my mind off the day so its not like I didn't understand why it happened, I also made a mental note to find this one guy and make him pay for setting her up that's something I'll ask Kyle about later. "I appreciate you wanting to tell me what happened, I don't like that it happened I don't want to think about you with anyone else, especially another wolf, especially one in my pack. What matters is it never happen again" I kissed her cheek.

Alex's eyes went silver and I felt a tingle ripple through my lips and down my body, Alex's hands flexed into my shoulders pulling me into her, her lips crashed against mine attacking my mouth. Alex climbed onto my lap, straddling my waist, her hands ran up digging her nails into my back. I broke away from the kiss and looked into Alex's silver eyes, her wolf had taken over it seemed causing my wolf to jump in my chest, "Alex, baby, I need you to come back to me" I said holding her still by her shoulders. "Take me now" Alex moaned. A low growl escaped my lips and my girth jumped underneath her, pressing uncomfortably against my pants. "Not until I see those beautiful green eyes of yours again" I said. This woman was going to be the death of me, I would be damned if I fed into this not knowing if she really wanted it. Alex pressed herself towards me again but I easily held her in position, her skin began to feel hot and almost shimmered with light, just like that my joggers burst into flames, "f**k!" I yelled jumping up tossing Alex off my lap haphazardly, I ripped the pants off quickly tossing it to the side, it quickly went out as fast as it started, I looked over at Alex who had a face of terror, her eyes were back to normal and she looked like she was in shock. "How the hell did you do that?" I blurted out. "I don't know, my wolf took over my mind and your pants were in the way I guess" Alex said unsure of herself. "I'm glad those weren't my favorite" I smirked "But it seems your wolf has found your powers for you, baby you're going to have to make a decision soon to either reject me or complete the bond, I don't want you burning down the town because I'm trying to be respectful" I stated still in shock that my mate had just lit me on fire. Alex nodded her head, "Do you think we can have breakfast first?" she asked. I glanced down, "let me get dressed and we will head to the kitchen." Alex's eyes wandered and grew bigger as she realized I was standing naked in front of her a smile started across her face. "Keep looking at me like that and I'm taking you on the bed right now" I said with a husky tone. Alex smirked and blushed, I could smell her arousal for me making me growl. She walked behind her to the closet and returned with a pair of black gym shorts tossing them to me. "Lets go then" she grinned.
