1. Memories
"Mom!!" Leon said it in a loud tone. "Is something the matter, Leon Elrod?" His mother, Silica, said it in a mean, confident tone. "Mom, I'm scared. Please let me out. I promise I won't do it again," he said. "No! You will repent and accept your punishment for the disobedience you caused at the family function. You disgrace." Silica said in a slightly loud and sharp tone.
Leon then started to push on the hard wooden door to the basement from the inside to escape. "Let me out, please. I won't do it again, Mom. I'm scared. Please, mom, please, mom!" Leon screamed while crying.
Leon heard the basement door unlock and wiped his tears, thinking his freedom was near. "Mom, than-" Leon paused. "Mom, why do you have a metal bat?"
His mother started to walk towards him, and fear started to dwell inside him. "Mom, please, no, please, Mom, I don't want to feel hurt I don't want to feel pain, Mom. I promise I'll be your good boy again." Leon said while on the verge of covering himself with his urine.
"I will beat this into you, LEON ELROD!" Silica then started to beat Leon with the metal bat, bruising his back with the first two swings. Leon's only subconscious thought was to cover his body. all he felt was pain and suffering. He wondered why his life turned out like this, he wondered why he had this family, nothing but suffering was his life. Leon was horrified. Silica had stopped beating him, but the pain was unbearable. He then went into cardiac arrest. When Leon woke up, he was lying in the hospital bed, feeling pain, but it wasn't as uncomfortable and unbearable as before. "You're finally up, Sonny," the joyful doctor said. "You've been out for 5 hours after your cardiac arrest we thought we lost you, Sonny. What happened to you? Your ribs are close to being broken." "I-" he was about to say but saw the look on his father and mother's faces and thought otherwise. "I fell down the stairs," Leon said in a painful tone, hoping the doctor would believe him. "Well, ok, Sonny, hopefully you're able to fully comprehend that playing on the stairs isn't safe." The doctor said it in a lecturing tone. "Yes, thank you, doctor, I fully comprehend." The doctor left the room while Leon was left with his abusive parents. Nothing was said, not even an apology. Leon implicitly deluded himself, thinking it would get better, but soon hadn't realized it until the later years.
