Chapter 15 Justin POV The second we got through the front door, I pulled Caddy into my arms. The tension from the Alpha’s office melted away the moment her lips touched mine. She laughed softly against my mouth, and that sound alone made everything worth it. I carried her down the hall, her arms wrapped around my neck, and laid her gently on the bed. The rest of the world disappeared. No pack laws. No pressure. No watching eyes…Just us. We didn’t rush. We didn’t need to. We had waited years for this, even if she hadn’t known it. I brushed her hair back from her face and just looked at her for a moment. “You’re really mine,” I whispered. She smiled up at me. “Always have been. I just didn’t know it yet.” What we shared after that wasn’t just about desire. It was about finally being allowed to love each other without hiding. About not having to pretend. About knowing we could wake up together every day from now on…Later, when we were lying tangled in the sheets, her head resting on my chest, I traced slow circles on her arm. “You nervous about your parents?” I asked. She groaned. “Oh yeah. Mom is going to cry. Dad is going to try and act tough.” I chuckled. “I can handle your dad.”?..She tilted her head up, narrowing her eyes playfully. “You better.” I kissed her forehead. “I will. For you.” My phone buzzed on the nightstand… a reminder that in a few days I’d start my new shift schedule. A few days off. The Alpha had surprised me with that. Maybe he really did trust us. Or maybe he just remembered what it was like to be newly mated. Either way, I wasn’t wasting a single second of it. Ivory POV I couldn’t stop thinking about dragons. The movie was way better than I expected. I didn’t even play my games like I planned to. I just watched. The loyalty. The power. The bond between dragon and rider….It wasn’t like mates. It felt… chosen. I sat cross-legged on my bed, scrolling through page after page about dragon legends. Some stories said they were extinct. Some said they were hidden. A few whispered about a dragon king who ruled somewhere far beyond the territories of wolves and vampires. A young king…I snorted at myself and shut the laptop halfway. “Stop it, Ivory,” I muttered. I wasn’t going to be one of those girls who obsessed over fate and bonds and marking. I didn’t need a mate. I needed strength. Skill. Control…I stood and walked over to my mirror, studying my reflection. I had trained harder than anyone my age. Most older warriors couldn’t even keep up with me anymore…That’s what mattered…Still…A dragon king. I shook my head hard, pushing the thought away. “Not happening,” I said firmly. But somewhere deep inside, my wolf stirred…. not in rejection. In curiosity.
