Chapter 5

Charlie pulled out of the driver way. Sabrina sat in the passenger seat. She trusted Charlie she always had. She use to wish him and her mom would get together when she was younger. She soon realize that her mom wasn’t Charlie type. She resented her mom for this when she was younger. Sabrina realized later in life he was only around cause her father wasn’t around. Charlie never understood what really happened to her father but he use to say your father isn’t who you and everyone think he is.

[Flashback]

Sabrina was in the hospital now. Worried and frantic she couldn’t understand what was going on how bad was she and where’s her grandmother. Shortly before arriving to the hospital her grandmother wasn’t responding to her.

Sabrina had fallen silent it. The doctors rushed in to check on her all she could cry out for us her grandmother.

“Miss she is being look after by another doctor here. Once I can make sure you are stable and nothing is critically wrong with you I’ll have a word with the other doctor, to she how she’s doing. Is that okay with you?”

The doctor stated and ask knowing that Sabrina wouldn’t trust him unless she agreed to this.

Sabrina sigh as in yes.

“Are you in pain miss?”The dark hair doctor asked.

Sabrina hadn’t notice the pain before being asked.

The doctor had being pressing Sabrina’s lower abdomen. Sabrina had jumped.

“Can I look!?”, asked the Doctor who had persist for the female to come closer.

Sabrina had nodded. As the doctor lifted up Sabrina shirt slowly he seen bruising.

“It must have been the seatbelt”, the doctor stated.

He quickly looked at Sabrina’s neck and it appeared to have bruising and looked slightly cut opened.

“Get a CT scan stat!” Demand the doctor.

Sabrina looking worried.

The doctor turned to her and said

“we are just going to make sure nothing internally is wrong everything is going to be okay just going to run a test.”

This made her calm.

As the doctor walked out and a, lady with long blonde hair wearing a black shirt with a red fitted shirt that hugged her body walked in. She smiled with bright red lipstick that gave a glance of her pearly whites. She had the lightest blue eyes close to ice that Sabrina have ever saw.

“ Hello my name Roberta I work here at the hospital if you can, would you tell me the best person to contact.”

Sabrina quickly realize that no one knows what is going on.

“799-1073…..It’s my grandfather Gerald Thomason number!” Sabrina quickly replied.

“Is the area code the 750?” Roberta asked curiously.

“Yes!” Sabrina said.

“Is there another contact that I can have to notify someone else?” Roberta puzzled while asking.

There where a lot of kids in the are being taking care of by there grandparents and Roberta didn’t wanna make the girl even more upset, knowing she came in with here grandmother and had given her grandfather’s number.

Sabrina paused before answering she knew her mom’s number but wasn’t sure if her phone was on or not. She hasn’t called since she been at her grandparents.

Sabrina said out loud “ Would it be okay to give you two numbers”.

The nurse replied shocked “yess give as many numbers as you can!”

“512-444-9524, Charlie Murphy is my uncle. 750-575-3082 is my mother Jackie Keown, I don’t know if she’ll answer.” Sabrina replied slightly.

“Okay I’m going to give them a call now to inform them of your situation.” The nurse rush off to make the calls.

She dialed the first number she was giving.

“ Hello” answered an elderly man.

“Hello, is this Gerald Thomason?” Asked nurse Roberta.

“Yes!” replied Gerald “May I ask who this is!”, questioned Gerald.

“Yes my name is Roberta Smith. I work at the hospital In Hartfield County. Sir your wife and granddaughter are here at the hospital. Is there anyway you could come as soon as you can!”

Gerald paused before speaking.

Gerald heart just stopped he had to pull over cause he would surely crash. Gerald heart was with his granddaughter and his wife. He was 3 days away from home all the way in California. He still had 16 stops and the contract the job has given him was fairly new to the company.

“I’ll be there in six hours I’m currently in California I have to call my job and park my truck up and I’m in the next flight. Can I give you a number of Charlie Murphy?”

“Mr. Thomason Sabrina has already given me his number I’ll be surely to call he after we are done our conversation.” Replied Nurse Roberta.

Gerald hurried and call him job and explained his situation at home. His boss directed him where he can park the truck and told him when he gets there to call him and let him know when he gets there. Gerald had worked for the company for fairly twenty-five years. He would do anything for Gerald he was trustworthy and reliable.

Gerald pulled up his gps and seen his next destination was 30 minutes away, he also pulled up the website to book a flight home the next flight was a hour later. Gerald booked the flight.

Gerald headed to his destination.

Meanwhile nurse Roberta had give a call to Charlie next.

“Hello, is this Charlie Murphy?” Asked nurse Roberta.

“Yes!” replied Charlie. looking at the number Charlie ask “Is there something wrong with my pager.”

Taking back Roberta said “Sir I’m sorry but I’m calling to inform you that your niece and mother are in the hospital.”

Charlie choking on his sandwich gag for air. “ Excuse me are you sure you have the right number cause I work here as one of your tech’s, and I’m not sure if I’m hearing you right.

Charlie biological mother had pass and Charlie had no nieces.

“I’m sorry I’m calling on the behalf of Nancy Thomason and Sabrina Thomason.” Nurse Robert silently said.

“What floor are they on.” Charlie said heartbroken.

“ We’re on the first floor in the er!” Replied Nurse Roberta.

Charlie quickly made his was to them immediately.

Charlie hung up the phone.

Roberta taking back said to a nurse “ he said he’s coming up and he works here.”

The other nurse spoke “I don’t know any Charlie Murphy here I guess we’ll have to see.”

“ I’m going to call her mother, probably should of been the first person to call.”

Roberta was bothered by herself she would’ve wanted to know if something happened to her daughter before anyone else. Feeling uneasy with in and frightful that someone had told her before she did she quickly dialed her number. But to her surprise she didn’t answer. She called three more times still to her surprise no answer. She felt ashamed to not have calling her first.

“Hello my name is Roberta Smith please give me a call back, as soon as you can.”

When she looked up a beautiful olive skin man with light green eyes stood at the desk. He had pearly white teeth with a nice sharp jaw line. Wearing a blue nurses uniformed Roberta knew he worked here as one of the tech’s.

“You must be new here how can I help you,” Roberta perk up and ask.

“I got a call about Sabrina Thomason and Nancy Thomason.” Charlie said stern.
