CHAPTER - 11

After getting back at home from the dinner at Daniel's Nick didn't wait for Amber and quickly rushed towards his room so he could freshen up and get to love of his life, sleep. His eye lids were so heavy after eating so much at the dinner and who would blame him when all the dishes were so captivating and delicious. His mouth had watered at the mere sight of the food. Amber hadn't come back with Nick as Daniel and her decided to go out for a walk. Weather was perfect for a walk, the dark sky was filled with millions of twinkling stars and cold wind gushing enveloping their body with cool sensation calming their minds and making them feel at ease. Both Amber and Daniel just took a walk neither of them saying anything, letting the comfortable silence set in. It wasn't like they didn't want to talk to each other or anything it was simply because they didn't have anything worth talking about and the the silence wasn't awkward instead it was peaceful and comforting. But the quietness didn't last long as Amber's mobile rang. When she looked at the caller ID it didn't take her even a second to press accept button. " Hey dad!" Amber chided in excitement waiting for her father to respond. " Hey my little princess. How are you?" she heard her father ask in his usual deep voice which she had been missing since so many months. " As always AWESOME dad what do you expect from your ever so perfect daughter." Amber replied with a giggle. It had been always like this in front of her father she would always become a baby after all no matter how much she would grow up she would always be the little princess. For her father Amber never grew up. She could hear her father laughing at her exaggerated answer and she could hear it from the line making her smile too while Daniel looked at the father - daughter talking. Daniel also knew how much Amber and Nick missed their dad that was why he always to invite them at his home so both of them didn't feel that down but of course no one can take place of parents still it somehow made Amber and Nick a little less sad about the whole situation. " What about Nick?" her dad asked from the other side. " That useless boy must be sleeping or shoving food in his stomach dad. You know how he is." Amber told as a giggle escaped her lips, remembering about her pain in the a*s of a brother. " You don't know? " her father asked in confusion. " Yeah cause I am outside taking a walk. " Amber clarified while staring at the moon in the sky which was in the shape of crescent today. " Ohh, don't stay out for long okay and safely go back to home." that made Amber grumble as she sighed at her worried father but she still liked it no matter if it sounded childish. " Dad I am grown up. Don't worry. Leave that by the way when are you coming back? " though her father had already informed her when he was about to fly back but due to the hell called school she had already forgotten about that. " Well I am now coming earlier as I am almost done with the work quickly except a few things. So I will be back home may be within a week still not sure about the date though." Amber was squealing in enjoy as it was one of those rare times when her father preponded the date of his arrival instead of postponing it like usual. " Really! " her voice couldn't contain the happiness she was feeling it was just so evident. " Yeah. Now I gotta go bye Amber. And while I am gone make sure Nick doesn't end burning whole house down." her father joked before ending the call. She just felt like day was one of her luckiest days as everything went smoothly and nicely well except the chemistry project part. The project and Sam, darn it. Now she was reminded that she would have to see that beautiful face but rotten inside guy because of that damned chemistry project her Mr Johan suddenly decided to throw at them. She was cursing her teacher in her head when she felt a poke at her shoulder which pulled her out of her violence tendencies running in her mind. That was when Amber noticed that they have reached in front of her home and if not for Daniel poking her shoulder she would have walked even further without realising. She shook her head at her being so lost which made Daniel slightly chuckle at her antiques. " Bye Amber." Daniel yelled while waving at her. " Yeah bye." Amber yelled back before both gave each a smile for last time and walking away. When Amber entered at her home she found all the lights off and utter quietness. Meaning the brother was already sleep otherwise it would take more than a miracle for their home to be this quiet when it was just Amber and Nick for most of the time while Zach dropping by time to time either alone or sometimes with Nick's other friends. She didn't waste a minute and rushed to her room as she was tried to so she wanted to hit the bed as soon as possible. Taking out shorts and a comfy large mickey mouse shirt from her closet she went to take a bath. After a quick bath of ten minutes she got dressed in those shirt and shorts. The shirt was so big on her that she was literally swallowed by it, even her fingers barely visible. But wearing oversized clothes specifically at night was her thing. She laid on the bed wrapping herself in duvet like a burrito and snuggled closer to the pillow. She closed her eyes hoping for sleep to she entered into the dreamland within few minutes, her body was just so exhausted. My lovely daughter come here let me hug you. Aww you drew this it's so pretty just like my little princess. Mom whom do you love the most, Me or Nick. Its me right. Mumma can't choose between you two my muchikin. But I love you more shhh it's a secret keep it from you brother okay. My daughter wants to go to park lets go, yuppie. Mom... Amber don't come here... Amber run... Amber don't look behind... Mom where are you going? Mom don't go... Mom don't leave me alone. Mom I will be a good girl, don't leave... Mom... And Amber woke up with her mother covered in a pool blood, lifeless, her body pale, lips turned white and numb. Amber was breathing heavily, her whole body covered in sweat and hands trembling in fear. She didn't even notice her eyes was glossy making her vision blur, she roughly wiped her tears with the back of her hand. It took her awhile to come in terms with the darkness of her room and with the fact that it was a dream. Well too much to be called dreamland. It was more of nightmare land. And she didn't want to play Alice in that kind of wonderland. Now it had been quite sometime since she was having such dreams. Those nightmares started after her mother's death when she still was a kid. She tried to calm down her raging breath by taking deep breathes. When she felt a bit fine her hands roamed around to find mobile to check the time. It was three in the morning. She still had school tomorrow so without have a choice she laid down again trying to sleep again but ending up tossing and turning nonetheless. She was sure she would get dark circles at this rate and look like a walking zombie. Her thoughts soon came to halt as her eyes started to drop engulfing her in sleep again. She just hoped she won't have the nightmare again, only a peaceful sleep.
