" Alright class dismissed." Mr Johan said curtly. Everyone started packing their bags quickly ready to strom out of the hell called school. When Mr Johan cleared his throat to make an announcement which frankly no one was interested in except so called teacher's pets because after all the news was coming from Mr Johan.
" There will be a group project." Mr Johan said which made Sam groan in annoyance. Just another reason to hate school, group projects where he would be obliged to interact with his so called classmates. And was that even needed to say out loud by now that he had no no intrest in talking to his classmates who always had been busy in not - so - important gossips or pulling each other's hair during a fight over a stupid reason.
Bunch of freaking immature kids.
" Group needs to have minimum 4 students and maximum 5. Submit me the list of group members by tomorrow otherwise I will be forming groups random and I know you all wouldn't like that. So hurry up." Mr Johan said with all seriousness making students quickly start discussing about teaming up together so they wouldn't be put with someone they didn't want.
" Sir what is the project about?" a lean boy asked being over excited in Sam's eyes he looked like a skeleton who had poodle of brown hair on his head he found he was being enough considerate by not calling his hair poop instead of poodle. That student was probably one of the teacher's pet. Always being enthusiastic over whatever a teacher would say. Sam hated such kids.
" You have to prepare a chemistry related working model of your choice and submit it by Friday along with a presentation. Meaning you have ten days. Any questions? " Mr Johan waited if anyone had any query but no one asked anything might be because everyone was egar to go home and rest as it was last period or simply cause Mr Johan had made everything clear about the project so there wasn't anything else to ask in perticular.
Though there might be a few students who actually had query but they were just to afraid of Mr Johan to say anything which just made them zip their mouths. Sam had an urge to rise his hand and ask the teacher if he could do the project alone instead of a group but he knew it would be a NO. And he wasn't up for a scolding either so decided against his urge and kept quiet.
" So class dismissed." when no one said anything Mr Johan ended the class and walked out of the doors. Students too packed their bags and rushed out while talking about who was going to partner up with whom. That was the real problem, Sam didn't know whom to ask to be in a group. He was literally an outcast for that matter. He had no friends and these were the times when he actually dreaded of enjoying his own company rather than trying to socialize with others.
" What the hell am I going to do now!" Sam muttered under his breath while packing his stuff away. If he had authority he would have banned group project or anything related to team work a long time ago but unfortunately he couldn't do it but just face the harsh reality. He was still contemplating over how to get in a group when he felt a nudge on his shoulder.
Frankly and truthfully Amber didn't want it. She was so against it. Like damn according to that was the stupidest idea because she didn't want to end up killing someone who might or might not be her friend. Hannah sometimes would really test Amber's limit and it was one of those times. The moment Mr Johan had declared about group project.
Amber, Emily and Hannah were happy that together they could finish up work easily and soon. Cherry on the top was the fact that they had all the more reasons to meet and chill. But when Mr Johan said for a group there needed to be minimum four people that made Amber and Emily frown as they were wondering who else to ask to complete while Hannah just grinned ear to ear happy about the new news.
" Your smile is creepy Hannah." Emily had said while staring at her suspiciously.
" Yeah it's scary. What are you plotting now?" Amber asked to equally intrigued to know what was running her best friend's not - so - normal brain.
" Umm how about him?" Hannah said with hopeful eyes while pointing at someone.
"I agree." Emily nodded in agreement.
" What him?! Noway Hannah that's absurd. Anyone but him." Amber whisper yelled at her friends questioning their decision.
" Why what's wrong with Sam?" Hannah asked with one of her brow raised, waiting for Amber to explain herself.
But Amber had no perticular. She just hated that guy, obviously not like literally hate him it just she wasn't exactly so fond of him to spend time with him until it was absolute necessary for whatever reason. It might be because of their first encounter which wasn't so pleasant or might be because of that whole mobile exchange encounter or might be because him being a total jerk that he was.
" I don't like him." Amber declared not daring to say anymore.
" But you guys didn't started on a good note, he might actually be a nice guy Amber. You never know." Emily tried to make Amber understand.
" Yeah Emily is right. Stop being so judgy Amber. Come on I told you guys he was the one to help me back then when I was nearly had gotten in accident. I am sure he is a nice guy. " Hannah voiced her opinion while Amber kept quiet and just listened to her friends.
" And besides for a guy with such a handsome face cut he some slacks. His hotness compensates for his rudeness. " Hannah said with dreamy eyes while Amber and Emily just face palmed they knew their best friend always had a weak heart for hot guys.
" Well ignore Hannah. But I also don't see any problem either. Or do you have someone else in you mind Amber? " Emily asked Amber trying to come up with a solution.
" We can ask anyone." Amber shrugged simply.
" Oh my, he is almost done. I will explain later. Love you guys for agreeing. " Hannah said as she saw Sam almost done with packing his stuff so she hurriedly walked towards him.
" Wait what Hannah! Come back here. We never agreed." Amber half yelled but to no avail as Hannah had already gone. Amber and Emily sighed when they saw Hannah nudging at his shoulder.
So now there now Hannah was in front on Sam while confusion was written all over his face. Hannah cleared her throat before giving him a smile trying to fetch words as standing in front of Sam made her shy. She fiddled with her fingers while looking at him.
" Would you like to join our group? You know if you aren't already in a group. I am sure that you already are who wouldn't want a chemistry geek in their group. Hahaha haha that was a compliment. You are really smart when it comes to chemistry. Not like you aren't smart in other subjects just a bit more smarter in chemistry haha haha. You got what I mean. So wanna join our group. No forcing, you can always say know. " Hannah was literally rambling as she was so much hesitant that she didn't even realise who weird she sounded and if it would have been for anyone else Sam would have laughed at their face but this time he needed this opportunity and besides he could be considerate every once in a while he wasn't all that devil. He knew poor girl was might just be socially awkward giving she had only two friends, Emily and Amber.
" Yeah sure." Sam replied with a smile to which Hannah blinked her eyes not believing his answer. She was practically ready to be turned down when she had proposed the offer but when the otherwise happened. She didn't know how to comprehend it, she was just so happy and that showed in the smile she gave him.
" Your number? You know so we can communicate for project." Hannah said feeling fuzzy in her head.
" Oh right." both Sam and Hannah exchanged mobiles to enter each other's number and quickly return their phones back. Hannah waved at him, bidding him bye and turned to go.
" Hannah...... " Hannah had only managed to take a few steps when she heard Sam calling for her so she turned around to look at him.
" I am not smart. I am barely above average." Sam gave her a boyish grin before waving her bye and walking out of the classroom.
" Damn why is he so cool!" Hannah's breath hitched while her eyes still lingered where the boy walked out from just a few seconds ago. She was still rooted at her place until Emily and Amber came to her and practically dragged her out of the classroom while their best friend was still in daze making both Amber and Emily chuckle at her over dramatic reaction.
