CHAPTER 1:STRANGER EYES
I didn’t believe in love at first sight… until I met him. It wasn’t anything special. No music. No slow motion. Just a normal day that wasn’t supposed to mean anything. I was walking home with my sister that evening after getting something for my dad. The road was quiet, and we were both tired, just talking about random things. That was when we met them. My sister started talking to his friend immediately, like they already knew each other. I didn’t really pay attention at first. I was just walking beside her, waiting for us to go home. But then… I noticed him. He wasn’t talking. He wasn’t smiling. He was just there, walking quietly beside me. I didn’t even know why, but I became aware of him. Every step. Every movement. The silence between us felt strange… but not uncomfortable. Just different. I kept stealing small glances at him, but he didn’t say anything. Not even a single word. I don’t know why he chose to walk beside me instead of joining the others in front. And I don’t know why… but I liked it. After a while, we finally got close to where my dad was. My sister went ahead, and I followed. I didn’t even realize when he and his friend stopped walking with us. But before leaving, his friend called out his name. I didn’t hear it clearly. Or maybe I did… but I just couldn’t remember it. We went home that night, and everything went back to normal. At least… it was supposed to. But it didn’t. Because from that moment, he didn’t leave my mind. I kept thinking about him. His silence. The way he walked beside me like it meant something. The way I felt… for no reason. It didn’t make sense. I didn’t even know him. But somehow… I was already falling. The next day, I saw him again. This time, it wasn’t a coincidence. Or at least… it didn’t feel like one. He was standing there like he had been waiting. The moment I saw him, my heart started beating fast. I tried to act normal, like I didn’t notice him. But my eyes still found him. And again… he was looking at me. Not smiling. Not talking. Just looking. It made me nervous. But at the same time… I didn’t want him to stop. Something inside me pushed me to slow down a little, and before I knew it, he was walking beside me again. Just like yesterday. Quiet. Close. Unexplainable. We didn’t speak. Not even one word. But that silence… it wasn’t empty. It felt like there was something there. Something growing. Something I didn’t understand. As we walked, I felt it again. That strange feeling. Like I knew him. Like he knew me. But how? I’ve never seen him before. Or… at least, I don’t think I have. Then suddenly, he stopped walking. I didn’t notice at first. I took a few steps ahead before I realized he wasn’t beside me anymore. So I turned back. He was still there. Standing. Watching me. This time… his eyes looked different. Darker. Deeper. Almost like they were trying to tell me something. Or warn me. A small shiver ran down my spine. For a moment, I felt scared. Not of him… But of what I was starting to feel. Then, for the first time, he spoke. “You shouldn’t be this close to me.” His voice was low and calm, but there was something serious in it. Something that made my heart skip. I didn’t understand what he meant. But instead of stepping back… I moved closer. “Why?” I asked softly. He didn’t answer immediately. He just kept looking at me, like he was thinking… or maybe fighting something inside himself. Then he said quietly, “Because if you don’t leave now… you won’t be able to later.” I should have listened. Everything inside me told me to walk away. To leave. To forget him. But I didn’t. Instead, I stood there. Looking at him. Feeling everything I didn’t understand. And somehow… choosing him. Even without knowing who he really was. Or what he was hiding. And that was where everything began.
