Chapter 16

1434 Words
Cam was completely perplexed as he sat on his bed. He was in a state of numbness after having just completed the most successful con job of his whole life and having his mind blown by the events that followed. "Cam!" Her cry did reach his ears, and when it did, it made him furious. She had completely derailed his plans, and he was beyond himself with rage. His pants were cuffed, and he struggled mightily to put his shirt back on once it had been removed. He entered the apartment with a clattering noise, and then he pulled open the door. Get them out of this place as quickly as possible! He was so infuriated that he yelled at Courtney. in the sense of, "What the heck is your problem?" She looked at him with an intense and penetrating glance. What the heck is wrong with you two? You should be aware that I have the ability to do that much better. She placed her hand on his chest, above his heart. Her wrist was caught between his hands, and he twisted his hands roughly around her wrists in an attempt to throw her wrists away. I don't give a f*ck if you touch me. Don't be an i***t; we're not dating. No more playing around with words from my end! I just don't want to, even though it's not because I don't want to do it. Her demeanour became increasingly strained, and she began blinking away the tears that had begun to form in her eyes. His fury subsided as he became aware that he had crossed an unacceptable line. She did not merit that in any way, regardless of how annoying she could be. "Courtney.." He was at a loss for words and was unable to respond. I didn't mean to. Because I'll be back at Lily's house at 10 o'clock tomorrow night, today is Lily's fortunate day. She got herself together with a hacking cough and a twitching in her nostrils. "Perhaps by then you'll find that your mood has improved." She then made a sharp turn on her heel and walked away in the opposite direction. He was unable to accept the fact that she continued to believe what he had told her she believed about who or what they were. It was beyond his capacity to understand. This evening, he had already brought tears to the eyes of two different women. He gently shut the door to the apartment, but he did not use the lock this time. He made his way over to Lily's room and turned the knob on her door. It didn't move at all. "Lily." His cranium was propped up against the door. Please accept this as my apology. To put it another way, I never intended for there to be any kind of problem between us. He waited for an indeterminate amount of time, but he never got any kind of response from anyone. It was unclear to him whether she had dozed off or was simply ignoring him at that point. He lowered his head in shame. It's hard to wrap one's head around how badly he messed up. He then disrobed in his room, fell asleep on the bed, and was found to be unconscious the next morning. The heaviness that he felt in his chest was crushing, and the agony was intolerable. He longed for the intimacy of the previous night, when they had lain together in his bed, undressed. He desired Lily more than anything else in the world, but he had ruined their chances of being together. Courtney is not this man. He was the impatient one, the one who kept inviting the other woman to his bed, and the one who f****d her two days before Lily showed up. He was the one who kept inviting the other woman to his bed. The next morning, Cameron awoke with a perplexed expression on his face. He had not planned on actually dozing off, so that came as a surprise to him. There was no activity in the apartment, and the time on his phone indicated that it was eleven in the morning. The likelihood of Lily being asleep at this hour was so incredibly remote that it was laughable. He stood up and put on a pair of basketball shorts before continuing. The door to her room was propped open, but there was no sign of her elsewhere. He went there and, upon discovering a note lying on the table, grabbed it as soon as he realised it was written in Lily's handwriting. I informed Aaron that I was going to get some breakfast and that I would return at a later time. He tore the message to shreds with only his single fist. Obviously, the two were inseparable from one another. His eyes were burning from the tears he would not let fall, and instead of letting them out, he slammed his fist down on the table. After that, he got into the shower and threw away the ball of paper. While he was in the process of washing his hair, a guest had just entered the apartment. It was important to him that he caught up with Lily before they went to the nightclub. After hurriedly getting himself cleaned off and dressed in clean clothing, he ran into the living room, only to discover that it was deserted. When he turned around to face the opposite direction, he noticed that she had already locked the door. "Lily?" He moved closer to her house and gave a soft knock on the door. I can feel you inside. If you could spare a few seconds, we'd really appreciate it. A common example of this expression is "I'm getting ready for tonight." It won't take place for another 8 hours at the earliest. "Give me a snooze." Please refer to me as Lily. No, Cameron, not at this juncture. Please. I require some personal space. Again resting his head on the door, he pressed his hands firmly against the frame. He let out a deep sigh before responding, after which he paused for a short while. "Okay." It seemed like the clock started moving a long time before 9:30. Cameron's consumption of the final beer in the refrigerator contributed absolutely nothing to the progress of the situation. His pals Jaxon and Aaron sat nearby, picking up on his sad demeanour but choosing not to ask as to what was wrong with him. Courtney arrived at precisely 10:00 o'clock that evening. "Thank the Lord, I was able to open it at long last!" She wore a garment that was a deep purple colour and had no straps. The front was folded and ruffled, and the length of the dress terminated just above her butt. She compensated for her average height by wearing heels, curling her hair, and applying a lot of makeup. Her hair was also curly. I must know the answer to the question, "Where is Lily?" Courtney was using a compact mirror to examine her appearance while applying the finishing touches to her lipstick. in the exact same location. Her cheeks began to blush as she became aware of everyone looking at her at the same time. Her choice of a black dress with a v-neckline drew attention to her large bust. The material was tailored to her precise measurements and stopped at the middle of her thigh. Her black heels added two inches to her height, giving the appearance that her legs were longer. Her hair, which was a deep brown colour and gently wavy, was pulled to the side, and she had her arms crossed over her torso. Her makeup was understated but still managed to attract attention. She had long, thick eyelashes, bright pink lips, and shimmering bronze powder on her eyelids, all of which drew attention to her beautiful eyes. Her eyelashes were especially striking. "Wow!" The door to Courtney's lips swung open. You are able to use it again, without a doubt. The salivary glands of Jaxon were very obvious to the naked eye. Aaron didn't say a word while his eyes darted about the room, giving the impression that he was attempting to take in all of her creative ideas. Cameron struggled to make sense of his feelings and was unable to express himself. He was relieved to see her, attracted to her attire, envious of the attention she received, and suddenly terrified that she would never be his again. He saw her and was relieved. He was attracted to her attire.
