Chapter 17

As the company was leaving the apartment, Lily accompanied Courtney on her way out. She was the focus of attention for everyone else in the room, even the men who were standing behind them. That unquestionably appeared to be the case. Her cheeks, however, were adamant about not returning to their natural colour. As they all entered the elevator, Lily could be seen squeezing herself in between Cameron and Aaron. Courtney was standing in front of Cameron and Jaxon at that moment. When Lily felt Cameron's fingertips brush over her hand, she immediately flinched for some unknown reason. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, it was as if I had been given a second chance to breathe. She maintained a tight relationship with Courtney, who appeared to be avoiding Cameron. Given how much she had been attempting to assert her presence in his life, she found that to be a somewhat strange occurrence. She did not give it much thought. Courtney made arrangements for an Uber vehicle that was spacious enough to carry all of them. She whispered to Lily that she would be having secret sips while they were together. Lily beamed; she was confident that a shot or two would settle the flutters that were occurring in her stomach. There were a lot of people packed into Medusa's, which created an upbeat and cheery environment. The people waiting in line were peeved that Courtney and her pals had managed to skip ahead of them. She then escorted everyone upstairs to a table, where she seated Lily and informed her she would be back in a moment. Aaron came over and joined the gathering so that he could purchase some drinks for everyone. "I can't believe I'll be twenty-one in less than a month, and I can't wait!" Jaxon groaned while putting a mask of disgust on his face. We keep track of the days, saying things like, "Just two more months!" Thankfully, we are just talking about months and not years at this point. Cameron asserted that he and Lily needed one more year together before they could be certain that they were prepared to make a long-term commitment to each other. Lily remained silent and gave the impression that she was searching for Courtney, although she actually said nothing. She disappeared for a moment, then reappeared with a fully stocked tray of shots. Lily looked at the situation with utter disbelief. "Where on earth did you come upon all of that?" He explained that it was a party sampler for them. She smiled broadly as she moved her gaze from one photo to the next. In addition, I am familiar with the store's proprietor. "Do you have a certain one available?" "One? You can count on having at least four of them! You have several options there, young lady. Lily shared a drink with Courtney before following her out onto the dance floor later on. While the other two males were keeping an eye on the ladies, Jaxon noticed a gorgeous redhead who caught his attention. Aaron and Lily's gazes were fixed on Cameron, but he only appeared to be frowning. After they had been dancing for two hours, Courtney pulled her aside and refilled each of their drinks. Lily noticed that the males had shifted as she looked back over her shoulder. She reasoned that perhaps they had a fun time dancing and talked to a lovely girl while they were there. She experienced the sting of jealousy as well as the sorrow it caused. The experience of going to college was turning out to be very different from what she had anticipated. Courtney returned with beverages before she could give it any thought, and she was interrupted by her friend. She effortlessly juggled four bullets and handed two of them to Lily at the same time. I have the impression that I am now able to deal with anything. Lily sipped something that was blue in colour. Relax; the night is just getting started. She drank the very last of each beverage and then motioned for Lily to do the same thing. "No kidding!" She swallowed her last drink of the evening with a chuckle and then went to bed. "Hey, do you have any idea how I can get Cameron to stop talking down to me and acting like I'm nothing?" She could feel her heart thumping in her chest, and she tried her best to avoid talking about him as much as possible, neither with her nor about the best way to get them back together. Um, I wouldn't put it quite like that. simply because I have such a strong attraction to him and he is always trying to push me away. If he treats you horribly, you have no choice but to part ways with him. Congratulations, Courtney; you certainly deserve it. Lily was so exhausted from dancing that she let her gaze roam aimlessly about the room. Even though they were on opposite sides of the dance floor, she gazed directly at Cameron the entire time. Tensions rose, and feelings were running hot as a result. When she was in his presence, she felt her breath stop in her throat and her body react almost immediately. "Aw! Lily, you are the kindest person in the world. She was overcome with emotion, and she comforted her by hugging her. On the other hand, I will have him. Sincerity required: "Honestly, have you seen how big his —" "I shall be back in a little while." In other words, you just stopped communicating with her completely. Lily proceeded to the first opening that she found and took several long breaths of the night air there. She moved to the side as a safety precaution and rested her back against the old bricks of the building in case anyone else emerged. "Lily? Is there something wrong here? She turned her head to look at Aaron, who had just finished crushing out a cigarette and was now waving his palm in the air to get rid of the residual cigarette smoke. She was completely at a loss for what to say in answer to his query. Both, in point of fact, were the best answer that came to her mind at the time. She continued, "But other than that, I'm good." As he got closer, she could almost sense the warmth of his body from where she stood. It seemed to me that there was "just one more thing" about you that I had overlooked. She made an effort to reduce stress by laughing off the predicament in which she found herself. "Smoking? I always bring a book with me when I have no choice but to go somewhere like this. That begs the question: She twisted the tips of her hair with her fingers as she turned her head to one side and c****d her chin to one side. There are times when this place is just much too busy. The clouds in the sky caught his attention briefly before he turned back to her. "What brought you out here in the first place?" "I believe all I needed was a nice, long breath of clean air." Have you been feeling okay? Courtney is known to drink excessive amounts of alcohol on a regular basis. "You're absolutely right; this will be noted." a brief fit of laughter Behind closed doors, I was required to fire off a couple rounds of ammunition. I have no idea how she keeps her sanity under those circumstances. The answer was "no." He looked at the clock on his phone to see what time it was. When the clock hits 45 minutes, Cameron will have no choice but to physically assist her in leaving the room. Lily's attempt to avoid looking at Aaron caused her smile to completely disappear, and she hid her face by pointing her head downward and covering it with her hair. It appeared as though they spent a lot of time together just hanging out. Even though he didn't travel there with her, was he still going to pick her up? Do you plan on putting her to bed and bringing her home?
