Chapter 33

Camila's POV I was in the car for a long time. We stopped after what seemed like an hour and Harry took me out of the car. "Can I take off the blindfold yet?" I asked. "Nope, we're switching cars," he replied. "Why?" I complained. "You'll see," he said, and I could tell he was smirking. Peeking through the blindfold, I could tell that we were going into a van, however that was the most I could see. I had a very bad feeling of where this was going, yet I didn't say anything because maybe I was wrong. The car ride was very silent. Before I knew it, the van stopped, and Harry hopped out of the van and escorted me out of it. He walked me somewhere, yet we didn't walk inside of anywhere. I could also tell that there were people with him. "What's going on?" I asked. "Sit down," Harry ordered; all of the kindness in his voice was gone. I slowly sat down on what felt like pavement. "Is the gate closed?" Harry whispered. "Yeah, I locked it, too," Zayn whispered in reply. "Harry," I whispered with fear in my voice. "Shut it w***e," he replied coldly. I threw the blindfold off of me to see that I was sitting in an alley with Liam, Louis, Niall, Zayn, and Harry towering over me. "Harry, what are-" I started yet he came down and sat on top of me. Eyes as cold as a dead person's, he raised his hand. "Will you scream?" Harry asked. Before I could respond, he slapped me across the face. Tears came to my eyes from the pain, but I blinked them away quickly. "Good, we won't have to tape your mouth shut. Tie her up, boys," Harry demanded as he got up. Zayn and Niall had ropes with them and tied my arms behind my back and my legs together. As soon as this was done, the guys all looked at each other and have each other a nod. I had to brace myself for what came next. No warning involved, the five of them began to harass me. Louis and Liam took turns kicking my stomach. Then, Niall and Zayn threw some rocks at me, and just when I thought they were done, Zayn came up to me and bashed my head into the wall. "That's what you get for not letting e have your sister," he grumbled. Zayn let go of my head as Niall came down on me. He punched me hard in the nose. He punched me repeatedly all over my face, then threw the top part of my body to the ground. "You shouldn't break up relationships, you know," he gritted through his teeth as he got up. Just as I thought it was finished, I realized that it was Harry's turn. He leaned me up against the wall and began to run his finger along my tear drenched cheek. His fingers roamed down to my chest, and circled my boob for a while. Then he shoved his hands up my shirt and began to run them violently. I could see the pleasure in his eyes, and I didn't like it at all. Once he was finally finished, he moved his hands down to my rear. His face was millimeters away from mine, so I bit his nose with the little strength I had left. Furious by this, Harry stopped touching my bottom end to slap me hard. He slapped me again and again, then punched me and kicked me. The others joined in, too. They did this while tears blurred my vision and all I felt was pain. My whole body was I'm excruciating pain by the time the guys were done. Once they were done, they just left me there. I wanted to cry out for help, but I was too weak. My eyes grew very heavy and before I knew it I was unconscious. Lauren's POV Bryce hadn't called the house yet. Normally, he would call to tell us that we had an appointment, yet I hoped that there wouldn't be one that day. I hates those appointments, and Camz wasn't back yet, which was making me worried and worry was overwhelming. As I decided to head to my room to get one of my blades, the phone began to ring. I went to pick it up quickly and asked, "Hello?" "Hey Lauren, this is Selena," Selena said on the other line. "Oh hi, if you want to talk to my sister, she's not home yet," I told her. "I know, that's actually what I want to talk to you about," she replied. "What do you mean?" I questioned. "Camila was beat up in the alley near my house. She's lying on my couch unconscious now, but Demi and I don't know what to do," Selena said. "I'm on my way," I mumbled and with that I hung up the phone. Quickly, I got my blade and slashed my arms a few times. This was all my fault. I shouldn't have let her go out with Harry. I was going to kill that boy, him and the rest of his friends. This made me more angry, causing me to cut deeper. I stopped after a bit, bandaged up my arms, and headed straight to Selena's house. Upon getting there, I rushed to the door and knocked violently. Immediately, Demi opened the door and let me in. "Where's my sister?" I questioned. Demi lead me to the living room where Camz was lying on the couch. Her nose was bleeding and she literally looked black and blue. "God no. She needs to go to the hospital," I stated. "Alright, let's go," Selena said. Selena and I carried Camz outside and laid her down gently in the backseat of Demi's car. Selena and Demi rode in the car with her and I drove right behind them. The cell phone that Bryce had given Camz and I began to ring as we drove. "Hello?" I picked up the phone and put it between my ear and shoulder. "Why aren't you answering the home phone? I gave it to you for a reason!" Bryce shouted on the other line. "Sorry, I'm busy right now," I replied. From the other line, I could hear him chuckle darkly. "You're busy," he started, still laughing, "Do you like the roof over your head? Do you like the food in your fridge? Who provided that for you? Oh right, that was me. Do you want to keep those things? If you do, then get your ass to work!" Never had Camz not I ever stood up to Bryce. I decided that maybe it was finally time to do so. "f**k off!" I shouted back and hung up the phone. We pulled up at the hospital as I hung up. I hurried out of the car and helped Demi carry Camz into the hospital, while Selena ran in to find a doctor who could help us. A couple of doctors thankfully came to help us. They took Camz into the ER and had us wait in the waiting room. While we waited, I took out my phone and decided that it would be a good idea to call my parents. "Hello?" my mother questioned when she picked up the phone. "Hey, uhm, it's me, Lauren," I said nervously. "Oh hi Lauren, how are you?" she asked. "I'm okay, I guess. I have to tell you something, though. Camila's in the hospital and I don't know what to do," I confessed. "Okay. We're on our way," my mother replied and hung up the phone. "Lauren, I thought your parents left?" Demi asked, trying hard not to sound rude. "They did. They came back at the beginning of the break. We also have a little sister named Sofia," I confessed, not knowing why I did. Silence filled the room from then. We didn't know what to say to each other in this situation. Surprisingly, my parents and sister are what saved the day. "Where is she?" my mom asked as she and the rest of my family rushed in. Just as I was about to answer, a doctor came out of the emergency room doors. "May I speak with the family of Camila?" he asked. We nodded and I followed him with my parents and sister. "Pleasure is mine to say that your daughter isn't in any serious trouble. Her nose has a slight fracture, yet it won't impair her from doing anything. Additionally, she didn't break any other bones, however she is severely bruised. We gave her some morphine for the pain and she should be out in a few days, maximum, which is why we've moved her to a room," the doctor told us as we entered an elevator. The doctor lead us to Camz's room and then left us alone. There was another patient in the room, another man who didn't seem to be doing too well. "May I ask, what happened to her?" my mother asked. I explained the situation, yet by the end, I was in tears. I felt like all of this was my fault. It should've been me in that hospital bed, not Camz. Sofia hugged me when I began to cry, trying to console me. "It's going to be okay," my mother said. My father nodded in agreement. Selena's POV Demi and I waited anxiously in the waiting room. Neither of us knew what to say to each other; we hadn't known since we saw Harry exit his van besides for things like we should call Lauren. While we waited, I reflected upon a lot of things. I wondered why Harry and his friends had hurt Camila so much. I wondered if maybe that would make her want to be with me, or to not be with anyone. I worried about whether or not she would be okay, obviously hoping that she would be. All the while, the topic of Maya was always at the back of my mind. Eventually, Lauren came down to us. "The doctors are only letting family in because there's another patient in the room, but she's okay. She'll be in school by the end of the week," she told us. I gave a little smile at this. "Thank you," Demi said and with that, we left the hospital. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about?" Demi asked. I shook my head. Demi nodded, understanding how I felt, and drove me home. As soon as I got there, I went inside and ran to my room. It was already pretty late, so I decided to head straight to bed. However, I didn't get much sleep. I stayed up most of the night tossing and turning, crying, and worrying about everything. By the time it was time for me to normally wake up, I had only had an hour of sleep. Sadly, I still had to go to school, so I got ready without eating breakfast and left. As I walked out of the house, Demi was pulling up into my driveway. I got into her car and she began to drive us both to school. "You look awful, is everything okay?" Demi asked. I shrugged. "I guess," I mumbled. "It's going to be okay. It's just a couple of days," Demi assured me. "I know, but I miss her so much already. I just want her with me right now. I really love her," I sighed. "Come on. You've known her for a few weeks," Demi pointed out. "I feel like I've known her forever," I murmured and looked out the window for the rest of the ride. Before I knew it, we were at school. We headed to our lockers and went to go see our friends. It wasn't the same without Camila there. "Selena, hello?" Vanessa waved her hand in front of my face. "Yeah?" I asked, snapping out of my thoughts. "Come on, we have to get to English class," Vanessa said as she grabbed my arm and hurried me to class. Right from the start, I knew this day wasn't going to go well.
