Blurb

The gods have watched humanity repeatedly destroy kingdoms through war, ambition, conquest, and bloodshed.

Isis, Ra, and the ancient gods decide that the world can not continue this way.

So they awaken a forbidden relic beneath the pyramids—something powerful enough to alter the course of history.

But they make a terrible mistake.

The relic doesn't simply change the future.

It tears time apart.

And through that rupture:

Alexander is ripped from the moment before his death.

Cleopatra is ripped from the height of her reign.

They are brought into the same altered world.

Neither understands why they are there.

Their existence is connected to the gods' failed attempt to save the world.

And there is a prophecy surrounding them.

Then comes the central belief:

One prophecy.

One throne.

Only one ruler can survive.

or so they thought.

CHAPTER ONE — The King Who Refused to Stay Dead.
Alexander Death was supposed to be my final conquest. Instead... I woke choking on sand. It burned down my throat as I dragged in a desperate breath. My lungs convulsed, forcing me onto my hands and knees while grains of warm desert sand spilled from my mouth onto cold black stone. For one impossible moment, I thought I was still dying. Then I inhaled again. The air carried no scent of sickness. No bitter herbs. No frightened physicians whispering outside my chamber. Instead, it smelled of incense, lotus blossoms, and something far older... something that had slept beneath the earth for centuries. I opened my eyes. Darkness. Not complete darkness. A pale shaft of golden light slipped through a crack high above me, revealing walls carved with strange symbols that shimmered like molten gold. Hieroglyphs. The painted figures stared from every direction—falcon-headed gods, serpent queens, jackal-faced guardians. Their eyes gleamed as though they had been waiting for mine to open. I rose slowly. Metal scraped against stone. My armor. My breastplate still bore the deep s***h from my final campaign. My sword... Still rested in my hand. Impossible. The last thing I remembered was Babylon. The fever consuming me. My generals standing around my bed pretending not to cry. The empire I had spent my life forging beginning to fracture before I had even taken my final breath. I remembered reaching for my sword one last time. Then... Nothing. I looked down. The wound that had killed me... Was gone. Not healed. Gone. My skin was flawless, as though death itself had erased every scar it had claimed. A strange unease settled in my chest. Not fear. I had buried fear years ago on battlefields soaked with blood. This was something different. Confusion. I tightened my grip on my sword. "Who's there?" Silence. Even my own voice sounded swallowed by the chamber. Then... A sound. Soft. Almost too soft to hear. A whisper. Not behind me. Not ahead of me. Inside the walls. Thousands of voices speaking at once. Ancient. Patient. Watching. I spun, sword raised. "Show yourselves!" The whispers stopped. The silence that followed was somehow worse. I forced myself to breathe slowly. Think. Observe. The architecture. The painted gods. The scent of lotus. The polished black stone beneath my boots. Only one kingdom built tombs like this. Egypt. The realization struck me harder than any blade ever had. Egypt... But not the Egypt I had left behind. Something had changed. The air itself felt older. Heavier. Alive. A low vibration rippled beneath my feet. The floor trembled. Dust drifted upward instead of falling. Every torch lining the walls burst into flame at once. Not orange. Gold. The fire leaned toward me. As if bowing. Then every carved eye in the chamber... Opened.
