The night was far from over, I perceived. I just closed my eyes for a second before I heard the thuds outside my door, probably from the corridor. They sure weren’t human because I would know if a normal person was walking. The thing had to be an animal at best, and it was quickly approaching my door. I jerked up from my bed and switched on the lights. My eyes scanned around for anything that might act as a weapon incase I had to defend myself. Apart from a single pen, my suitcase and my new clothes, there was nothing else to be used. I opted to take the pen and tightly clench it on the palm of my hands.
